Kenmore Air DHC-2 Beaver Landing, Startup and Takeoff | CYHC

Here's a very special catch from the Vancouver Harbour Flight Centre CYHC, two Kenmore Air De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver seaplanes. Kenmore Air doesn't fly to CYHC (yet) so this was a very rare catch.
These aircraft arrived at the Coal Harbour as a charter for the #TED2018 talks happening in Vancouver this year. The video was filmed on Tuesday, April 10th, the first day of #TEDVancouver .
The video includes the approach and landing by N77MV as well as N72355 seen taxiing up to the dock in Coal Harbour. Next, you can see one of the aircraft starting up and both taking off, beginning their flight back home.

I use to own a home maybe 10 blocks from Kenmore Air. I could hear and see those Beavers flying overhead many times a day.

That would have been heaven for me. I love Beavers and seaplanes. Beavers on floats are the best of both worlds.

@@TheHDAviation True enough. Kenmore don't seem to have got themselves established in Vancouver. Probably no call for it with the way Harbour Air serve the community.

Not a lot of weight on board at the time so not surprising they got off quickly but they were designed with STOL performance as a requirement.

Man that is a great quality vid! Thanks for taking the time to film and share. I obsess over beavers lately. Not a better float plane. It will be interesting to see Harbor Air’s new electric power plants. Hopefully it’s just some pt6 swap out. If they take out a 985 and put in some battery powered made in China crap I will be pist!

I flew on Kenmore Airlines in 73 from Ketchikan to Port Alice Alaska in a D Haviland goose I got to fly it was a blast I was 15

great video... the beaver is a wonderful airplane... to answer chuks, beaver can be on either floats wheels, or skis... search harrison ford and you'll see his dehavilland beaver on wheels...
