This is my attempt for the bass audition from Ne Obliviscaris. It's a 16 minutes song so you could probably find some mistakes, but I like this way, more "live" as possible.

Bit late to the party, but congrats on getting into the band! You seriously fuckin' deserved it. Great tones, great playing.

I've listened to several of these auditions, and many were good, but this has got to be my favorite so far. Sounds very close to the album, and you make it look effortless. Well done.

A joy and an inspiration to watch...After seeing Ne Obliviscaris a couple of times this year, Martino was the member of the band I spent most of my time watching and soon after realised he was new to the band. The tapping section in this is incredible.. whether he wrote it or not!
    Get that next album started!

I just saw them for the first time live and I had the same reaction. I was thinking "damn, this guy is a monster on that bass" the whole time. They played this whole album. One of the best sets I've ever seen.

Loved your interpretation of the soft section in the middle. So glad NeOb picked you up as a bass player, the new stuff as amazing but i'll always have a soft spot for Citadel, one of my favorite albums ever.

Hey Martino, Congratulations with the gig with NeO! Love the Bass sound, how do you achieve it?

Kristian Nordheim I would love to explain something big, but the reality is: I just asked my luthier to build a bass that could sounds 1/3 of Richard Bona's tone, 1/3 of Scott Devine's, 1/3 of Djanek Gwizdala's. He built it. Here it is, I keep it flat. Ahah

So what you are basically saying is that there is not much effects etc going on, and its just the pure sound of an awesome bass guitar? Anyway thank you for the reply! I appreciate it =)

Kristian Nordheim exactly! It sounds exactly as I want without touching anything. You're welcome :)

Martino Garattoni does your luthier have a website? Do they ship to Australia? You should release this as your signature bass...

Kristian Nordheim yeah it should be possible! Contact him on Facebook on the page Legg Guitars.

How do you keep rhythm without headphones? Especially with the tempo changes.
