Yeah, the fact background noises can be simply disabled while you have maps with tons of corners and dark spots adds alot to the creepiness factor. It's like being trapped in a ghost town where you know there are no people aside from you, but you can't help, but worry about there still being one and perhaps that person even being a danger.
Knot always videos are true it reminds me like someone like.. was trying to make the animation of this file. It can be fake but it can real tho. It's specifically the Source Engine. It was specifically designed that way to make the more lonely parts of HL2 feel eerie. If you load up any HL2 map without any of the characters or the ambient sounds, you'll be on edge. Hell, even TF2 maps can do that.

When I first watched that video, I assumed the Engineer died from fall damage. After what happened next, I wasn't so sure... Yeah, it would be interesting to get that side of the story.
This is just how it feels to be alone in TF2 maps, It feels like you're in liminal space and every place you go, You can feel like something watching you or waiting for you
As some random dude whose name I can't remember said in a video about the topic: "What makes TF2 maps great is that they have enough detail to not look too plain while playing, but not enough to distract you from the actual game"
Cool video! I like how the map looks more unnatural in this one. The doors are see through, the color seems off, the missile goes through the bars, ETC. Really looks like the guy respawned in a map that was getting effected by those anomalies.
I think one of the creepiest aspects of this series is that in almost each episode, you can see the previous victim from a older video in real time as the encounter is happening.
Wait, he was being dragged AWAY from the engineer anomaly. If we compare the shot at the end to the frame before he starts getting dragged away, it's the same area. It looks like the engineer was invisible to the soldier and it was coming for him, but something dragged the soldier away from it. Possible ally?? I'm also not sure of what to make at 0:20 since the sound of the humming is always emitted by the entities. Was the red sniper there posing as a player?? Or perhaps the medic that's staring at our POV?? Also, quick theory. The sounds of really fast footsteps in the water could be the scout? Since we got a united anomalous game from the Sniper and Scout in a previous video, it couldn't be too much of a stretch to assume that when Soldier came down, scout had just vanished into the portal thing
at the moment of the rewind i looked at the rock formation and it appears that the place the engi was at was the entrance to blue stairway to the middle so he was dragged out of the sewer system towards the bridge
I realized that each anomaly has a specific target, using the forms of the characters the players character works best with usually, and going after them. These are going from each characters pov. As they're in a timeline of sorts.
Except in this one, he taunted for some reason... Krieg never taunted in his playthrough... wait, maybe that was what the skip in that video skipped over?
I love this so much, especially since earlier today I saw someone post a video making fun of the idea of a tf2 analog horror, and as shitposty as it was, it was well made, and the ending scared me a bit. I can't wait to see what you do next, and I'm definitely subscribing.
I like how this one is connected to scout going into a tunnel while soldier dies and gets dragged by some anomaly in real time you know what i mean just check it.
I just realise something, this is not the same anomaly... At the exact moment of 0:02 the soldier was normally dead on the normal video, and here he is not dead. On the original video called ''Doublecross_anomaly.mp4'' at 0:22 you can see the soldier was dead by his rocket jump and in his ''POV'' he is not dead, so the anomaly are the Soldier.
Aw man, I really like this because it's almost like a real fear, you know? Like what if you joined a server, or booted up the game, or even died and respawned, and for some reason things just weren't RIGHT this time, you have no idea how or why or what you can even do but something is very very wrong
Ok, so this one is interesting because it takes place in the _doublecross_anomaly_ video, but in the Soldier's perspective rather than the Scout's. Interesting how it's the Engie we see at the end there and not Heavy nor Sniper.
Ever weirder is the fact that in the original video, the soldier whose perspective this video is from appeared to have killbinded in midair while doing the rocket jump from the beginning of this video.
Ok but the game lagging when he grabs a health pack at 0:21 is such a good touch, it really does make this feel like you’re just a regular kid recording a video on your early 2000s shitbox pc

i am glad we got the soldier perspective of that but one problem in doublecross anomaly when scout looks to the tunnel entrance he can see engies dead body, but soldier found him as an anomaly himself ,mabye the anomalies somehow corrupted him. but why?
Gives me the feeling of respawning in the wrong chamber, like there are multiple copies of maps and this guy got unfortunately routed to an anomalous version
The video is very creepy, but what makes it scarier this is what I think at the end of the video someone saved the player at the last moment, after which he showed him what was hunting for him...
My take on this is very related to Emesis Blue. The soldier accidentally exploded himself, as always the respawn machine did its work and tried to being him back, but this time something else happened, the machine didn’t bring him back immediately, what felt like seconds to him could’ve beens weeks maybe months, and within that time of him being gone , the blue sniper/engineer (because I can’t tell what it is.) ended up coming through the respawn machine, but not as he was. The machine had malfunctioned, which consequently resulted in the soldier taking as much time to respawn as it did,and spit him out with distorted features, his limbs had elongated, and his brain had changed, it was that of an animal. He now could only see red, he felt no pain, and neither of the teams could kill it. When the carnage was finished, it didn’t leave, it simply wondered through the area, until suddenly, the blue soldier reappeared
i just realised the blue scout we see is the same blue scout from doublecross_anomaly.mp4, meaning theres actually something in the server other than it being a client side thing.
Yeah. He appeared to have suicided in mid-air in that video, his ragdoll making an unceremonious faceplant landing. And yet here he apparently lives on to experience some weirdness of his own. Weird.
I didn't see anybody mention this, but all these anomaly videos have their own timeline. There's the scout's pov and timeline, soldier's, and it's always the heavy, engineer, and sniper that are the "anomaly". Also, it seems to go alot around the blue sniper and 2fort.
I think I figured out the anomalys. They're kinda like a skinwalker (or a infection?), using the corpse of they're latest victim as a hide. In the scout video, Engi follows him and dies, then is the monster in this video.

You see that blu scout at 0:08 I have a theory, last time in one of the vids a sniper saw a scout. The scout had a perspective of his own in another video, so maybe this is the scout from the vid before this (if you’re watching from the play list)

0:42 The rocket launcher left outside the spawn door after the player respawned is likely left behind by the RED soldier who died before. You can also see something sticking out from the door, despawning as the player approached it. Perhaps a bodypart of RED soldier? 0:20 Also, that health pack looks really distorted
