So refreshing to watch an American channel about circuit boards and not hear the word sodda, interesting video, I have just one valve amp and it's a mono - cheers guys and keep up the good Engish, *O* (no L's)

Valve? You working on your plumbing? TUBE! TUBE, TUBE, TUBE, TUBE! :)

I have been building lower powered power amps that use an inverter to provide high voltage and I supply all the power for the amp is from a brick. If I am using tubes with 6 volt heaters, I series them. But often I use tubes with 12 volt heaters. I made the cutest pair of 13EA7 mono blocks. Lately I have been making amps that use horizontal output tubes as finals and using industrial power transformers for output transformers. The transformers are 480 vac to 24 vac. They yield about 3200 ohms with an 8 ohm speaker. It's CRAZY how pretty these sound.

One thing I think you guys should make a video about and discuss more is fixing noisy tubes. I know you talked about cleaning the pins and I've had extreme success / better sounding tubes with just using a Dremel and the soft tips with deoxit (recommend red then blue deoxit) as the amount of crud you and oxidation you get off these vintage tubes is incredible and you get far better sounding tubes and it fixes a lot of the noisy tubes. One thing that is not talked about though is I had a pair of true melz 1578 stamped machine gun esq plates and as you know very expensive tubes.... They started giving me loud pops and unusable noise and they are pretty brand new. I just re-flowed and added solder to all the pin tips and boom fixed (very happy $$$$$$$ tubes.)

@@ClassifiedBrief all good advice and we covered re-flowing the solder a ways back. I once did an experiment with about a dozen Melz metal based tubes and re-flowed every pin on every one of those noisy tubes and out of 12 tubes, I initially saved about 4 and in short order 2 of those became noisy again. Now we just throw noisy tubes out. In my experience once a tube becomes noisy it will always be noisy. The exception of course is if it's just dirty pins, we don't do anything to a tube until we've cleaned the pins thoroughly and then we test it electrically and follow up with a "live" listening test.

@@tubelab194 ah yes, the Russians I've actually had quite good success with them but you must add a decent amount of solder not just reflow. They didn't have enough to start and once u heat the pins it becomes a hollowed tube basically

Do you offer those PCBs for sale by themselves?
