Hi! I have watched it in spite of the reviews 😄I enjoyed the first half of the movie. It has a lot of jumpscares and for a moment I thought .. okay, it's not so bad. Then halfway through, the movie disappoints. The fact a kid could kill some of the vampires and uninjured while the adults are trying to stay alive, is just out of touch for me. I love the 1979 version.. so much emotions put into it. My favourite scene from that movie is when the Lance Kerwin character sheds a tear, seeing his 'friend' outside the window. That scene alone speaks. Not to mention, the show of 'teamwork' when he and Ben battled the vampires in the final scene.
Someone else brought up the original, sounds pretty cool. I’ll try and make a video on it for the channel, not sure how well it’ll do in the algorithm but I’ll give it a shot lol
This movie is in dire need of character development. They tried to fit too much in too short a time, and I don't think it did justice to the story. Ben was bland, Mark a little too boss kid, Straker a Victorian villain, and I expected Barlow to burst out singing "Sweet dreams are made of this". I don't mind some of the changes, which are minor, but the vampires sleeping in cars when they have so many homes just didn't work for me at all. Just confused. I enjoyed your review, had some really funny moments and some good points!
Thanks, i appreciate it! I actually like the car trunk ending despite how impractical it was, I thought it was a cool setting and a good use of the time period, bunch of old school cars and a drive in. And the trunks opening up kind of symbolically like a vampires coffin. But i understand its different from the original (i think) might need to watch it soon and review it
@@evanderjones That would be great! I watched the 79 version on TV back in the day, and the 2004 version. I think 04 had the most accurate Barlow, but nothing touches the original for atmosphere.
Wait a minute? Are you saying that two Stephen King stories written around the same time share similar themes. This movie is absolutely not "It, but with vampires". I don't think the movie finished as strongly as it started, but I quite enjoyed it. The cast is great, and there are some really disturbing scenes. If nothing else, it's a very well made movie. The cinematography is sharp. There are some very clever scene transitions.
@@evanderjones I can't speak for everyone, but I enjoyed the video. I do want to clarify one thing. Stephen King makes ANTI-TRUMP posts, not "Trump posts". Everyone should make anti-Trump posts, because: freedom. The fact that the Master of Horror recognizes Trump as the evil he is should inform everyone's opinion. Thanks for engaging.
If it’s just a movie and not a book review why do u bring up Steven King’s writing so many times seems a little counterproductive to ur argument about not bringing up sumn didn’t happen in the book if u ask me
@@dariusdossman5450 i only brought up his writing tropes when they’re present in both adaptations. It seemed relevant, it wasn’t meant to be a negative, I actually like them. Just similarities I noticed
The movie is mos definitely terrible but did u really even read the book bc it sounds like u did not but also have a lot more gripes with the writing of the author of the original artworks than the actual weak adaptations of the novels themselves also the Hooper adaption is insanely good and the book is even better but u sound like u wouldn’t know just talking just to talk

I mean they’re like 11 years apart. But I admit i was being hyperbolic in the thumbnail
