I have a triple monitor setup and I find that where it really comes into it's own is competing in circuit racing. The main advantage is that you can see when you are alongside another car. It adds an extra level of realism to the game. Obviously in Rallying you aren't going to have other cars alongside you, so it's not as important. But Rallycross events also benefit from having a triple screen setup. I'm looking forward to getting the new WRC game as I love Rallying. I'm also hoping that they will add VR support before too long as I do on occasion like playing with my Quest 2 headset. @EA I like stages, cars, graphics, sound, physics looks not bad. I don’t like damage model - looks very forgiving and overall critical where you land on 4 foots (tyres). I would like to see more interaction on windscreen when the conditions are bad (driveclub…). I want to see there mud, dust, rain, melting snow etc. EA need to tweak that for more ambitious rally fans. We want simulation settings on top end.
Hey Jimbo, I've been watching this video for 47 minutes, but now I don't have enough time to finish it. I know they improved the tarmac physics, but how does the gravel physics in this game compare to Dirt Rally 2? Is it similar, better, or less realistic?
The cars seems to be still rotating on a central pivot point, which is the same as dr 2, they just added more grip. There is a video from another channel that shows it very well. Quite disappointing. Although I'm keen to try as welll
Rally Wheel? Since you’re using an ES wheel, you can replace the D shaped rim with a MOZA 12 inch round wheel "mod" as they call it (rim blank). MOZA would probably just send you one for rallying.

Yeah idk I've been having a blast with my cousin. He plays on controller and I on wheel and, after tuning the ffb, it's very serviceable. Feels a bit weird to have it dismissed as rubbish considering the amount of approachability it has being on game pass with cross play (more player-base to compete with).
They have to decide what they want to be. If they're going sim, they should get rid of the gamepad gamerz genre. It has to have good FFB and physics. Assetto Corsa even on PS4 virgin version is superior driver in every aspect. If they're going simcade, GT7 and GT Sport are hard to beat. Those are proper games with decent driving physics. We have been spoiled with games like rFactor2, AC, ACC and iRacing so half assed driving won't save pretty package (just see Codemaster/EA F1 games). They're laughable compared to rF2 and AC F1 mods. Love your videos but mate, you gotta change that new member sound. It is incredibly annoying because of the background noise and low quality recording.
My concern about this one, is the handling looks like dirt rally. Which was pretty poor, wasn’t realistic at all. Counter steer just didn’t exist. I hope they’ve made it more realistic but judging by steering inputs of most streams I’ve watched it looks bad.
If you compare the speed sensation difference between real on boards (also my personal experience) and the sensation in the game ,it is overdoing it clearly. So it is becoming more of an arcade than a sim, which is kind of sad. It is too slick for joy😢 All the cars I have seen here were way to stable on all surfaces.Maybe it’s just me being a purist, because also I hoped that finally they would shift 1 gear down to realism instead of up to please pure gaming guru
You say don’t want to compare to Richard Burns but they are both sims (apparently) but basically what im trying to say is.. if there are 2 sims then basically they should feel exactly the same… if one is more realistic than the other, then the one that is most realistic is surely the closest to a sim?
“Realism” is not an on off switch or a 0/100 slider. There are lots of factors that contribute to such realism. Maybe this game is more realistic in some areas, while RBR is more realistic in others.
@@kiiro772 yhh true but i just wish Codemasters would use RBR as a benchmark, even the visuals look more realistic on RBR mods. Modern games have this thing where they think making the world look pretty with saturated colours etc is real lol. Original dirt rally looked great especially Wales, Sweden at night and Greece
@@iceone8879 yhh sounds are great and some stages look better than others, the physics looks better than 2.0 from what i see as 2.0 was like driving a wet bar of soap around a sink bowl. As for graphics, people say they don’t matter but they really do as they are a visual medium and draw you more into the immersion
I know the Rally 1 cars are extremely fast but it looks so unrealistic how fast they go in this game, especially when going around tight bends etc, they look more like an RC car how they handle which makes it look arcady imo. I hope they fix that as they don’t handle hairpins for example like that in real life.
Some parts of this game look really impressive. Some parts that were always a problem (mainly - extremely forgiving damage model) are still not there. Also it looks worse than DR2.0 for some reason.
it was mentioned somewhere that there is a hardcore mode and in this case there wasn't full damage enabled, but I have not seen anyone checking how max damage plays like
Probably because this time they went for quantity instead of few carefully designed tracks. I don’t mind it, it’s bad for a rally game to have few tracks that you start to learn quickly by repetition, but it’s true that DR2.0 tracks where incredibly detailed and very good looking.
The preview build has performance problems, so everyone with it has been playing on medium to have consistent framerates. It's one of the largest problems that everyone with the preview has mentioned.
Yeah, don't you think it's a bit unfair to call RBR a 20 year old game in this scenario? If we're talking about hungarian plugin, it's much younger. And yeah, if you want some more things to do apart from driving practice or online rally, even Generations was better 🙃
@@oksad47 Agreed. Richard Burns Rally RSF is very much under active development. They're adding new tracks, little features and physics updates. The base game is 20 years old and completely outdated. Its only when modded that it can challenge the modern games.
@ 27:05 what the fuck is up with that? World's smallest driver??? Why can't you see the hood to gauge distance? If you can't adequately see enough of the car to accurately understand where you are and how you fit in 3d space then how can they race? Dev competency issue.
15:40 "Forza is a dead game"? Jimmy's teammate thinks "multiplayer is actually amazing", races are "absolutely unbelievable" and "there is almost no difference between pad and wheel". Yeah. That's one credibility out of the window.
I would say Forza is popular on console more than PC, labeling your TH-cam video as positive towards the game to the majority of Forza players is just good business. Does he believe it to be "absolutely unbelievable"? I don't think so.
It's almost like different people have differing opinions. CRAZY how nature does that. Mad how the person you agree with is automatically credible too 🤔🤔🤔
Physics look horrible. Just watch how the cars land from a jump and have instant grip, just crazy the overall grip levels. How people think this looks realistic is beyond me. Just go and look at real rally then you’ll understand this is just an arcade game trying to dress up as a sim. Of course all this TH-camrs enter the hype because money.
Waiting for "you didn't drive a WRC car, so you can't say it is realistic or not" :) But as a game it's better than I expected (I can see some improvements over Dirt: Rally 2.0 & WRC).
We are going to Mars, 80 meter high rockets are landing virtically on a floating platform, but mankind is to fucking stupid to make a freaking triplescreen support rally game. Why can't developers create a game with the options the gamers are asking for VR AND TRIPPLE screen support, instead of lying that it is in the game!! @@jendabekCZ
@@jendabekCZ Eheh yes the classic reply 😂 I agree, as a game it looks very attractive and with a good amount of content. Hopefully it brings more people to rally in general and a few of them want to try a real rally sim like rbr..
I have RBR...I have dirt 1 and 2..this new dirt is just more regurgitated eye candy..... I don't need more stinking eye candy. RBR was made on a pc with a tiny fraction of a modern computers power.
you are correct. the older WRC Games had more diverse Tracks, the road opens and narrows, other kinds of Gravel/Asphalt, it did look why better in my opinion. Here (and in Dirt Rally 1/2) the road looks always the same, its always the same width and has always the same texture in the whole stage. Boring!
That's not what over-driving looks like. You need to watch me if you want to see World Class A1 Over Driving. I hear "DON'T CUT" as a challenge. I move the inside banks of corners like a D9. I broke my hand brake.
I bypass jumps by still being airborne from the previous jump. I jump over jumps. Guardrails are an affront to my freedom as an elderly naked hairy man.

Does this game support VR hardware?
Not at launch, but some time after launch it will be announced.
As Jimmy mentioned later, the release version will not support VR but they have promised a future update to bring VR support. As usual, if you want VR, wait until it has been released. Do not buy games prelease.
28:13 funny fail
1:37:07 Slightly missed the apex here, right?
Just a smidge
Great game. Such a shame that EA went with denuvo of all things with it :(
Love your videos but mate, you gotta change that new member sound.
Jimmy why u wearing one white sock and one black sock lol
Black sock absorbs more light so technically quicker, I presume left foot is still white sock as Jimmer hasn't yet fully migrated to black sock clutch
BEST JIMMER EVER......................BEST TALKING JIMMMMMMMMER EVER.....LOL ///////
Racing in socks!! LMFAO!!! And complaining!!!
Hope they fix the gear 1 brake cheese from dirt rally 2; ruined competition in multiplayer
What about Tarmac, does it feels like TARMAC finally ? If not no buy....
Grip level look arcady in this. Driving seems to be way easier than in Dirt rally 2.0, might get boring because of this in a while.
Odd socks. Totally unwatchable. Reported.
привет, блонда, ты коронована, теперь ты будешь подлива
please give me this game bro ^_^
If you compare the speed sensation difference between real on boards (also my personal experience) and the sensation in the game ,it is overdoing it clearly. So it is becoming more of an arcade than a sim, which is kind of sad. It is too slick for joy😢 All the cars I have seen here were way to stable on all surfaces.Maybe it’s just me being a purist, because also I hoped that finally they would shift 1 gear down to realism instead of up to please pure gaming guru
They scale up the speed sensation because you’re not in the car. It might not match but it’s more scary and immersive that way IMO.
looks like Codemasters time traveled to 2008 and brought back the brown filter.
Maybe this game is more realistic in some areas, while RBR is more realistic in others.
if the new game's physics could a little bit less grip and more gravity on jumps, it can be a fantastic sim with engine sounds and graphics.
Rbr is more of a sim than this game.
They absolutely can do.
It's pretty spot on actually. It's insane what they can do when you see them in person
Looks very bright, shiny, lacking in visual depth and contrast at least to my eyes
The preview build has performance problems, so everyone with it has been playing on medium to have consistent framerates. It's one of the largest problems that everyone with the preview has mentioned.
hope Jimmer's playing on low, this looks rough visually lol
but is it better than richard burns rally a 20 year old game?
Yes. So was dirt rally 1 and 2. Vanilla rbr was great for its time but really isn't anything special today.
Easily for me. Rbr is so dead. It’s good driving but that’s it.
@@HeretixAevumdamage model not and physics not. Rest yes.
tarmac and gravel have almost same grip as it seems.... So still no good physics.
I see some cool things but it looks like a buggy mess
@ 27:05 what the fuck is up with that? World's smallest driver??? Why can't you see the hood to gauge distance? If you can't adequately see enough of the car to accurately understand where you are and how you fit in 3d space then how can they race? Dev competency issue.
There are settings to change the drivers perspective
15:40 "Forza is a dead game"? Jimmy's teammate thinks "multiplayer is actually amazing", races are "absolutely unbelievable" and "there is almost no difference between pad and wheel". Yeah. That's one credibility out of the window.
the number of bugs, glitches and overall cut content has put a lot of people off.
@@jendabekCZ Eheh yes the classic reply 😂
I agree, as a game it looks very attractive and with a good amount of content. Hopefully it brings more people to rally in general and a few of them want to try a real rally sim like rbr..
@@pedroportfolioThats exactly what I am expecting 👍
I have RBR...I have dirt 1 and 2..this new dirt is just more regurgitated eye candy..... I don't need more stinking eye candy. RBR was made on a pc with a tiny fraction of a modern computers power.
Then play rbr. No one cares if you play this or don’t. Your not some cool guy for not liking it.
Colors look like dog crap. I want some nice bright colors. Put a different filter in this game or something.
Stutter + Unreal, if this is the issue game is dead to me. UPDATE 03/11/23: And it's dead on arrival.
What the hell is that text dancing around the screen it’s literally unwatchable
Gravel looked sadly unconvincing. Too much grip, not enough weight and momentum.
bored view
The stages look the same from start to finish..so boring to watch
It's the same in real life, what do you want them to add?
It’s based on real places and stages. You can still play dirt 4 or forza horizon if you want an arcade game.
Tell me you're a zoomer without telling me you're a zoomer
you are correct. the older WRC Games had more diverse Tracks, the road opens and narrows, other kinds of Gravel/Asphalt, it did look why better in my opinion. Here (and in Dirt Rally 1/2) the road looks always the same, its always the same width and has always the same texture in the whole stage. Boring!
Probably fantastic to play...
OMG how does it look so bad, PS 3 era or just like WRC 6 from years ago.
The game looks awesome but I'm not going to lie, this bloke's constant over-driving is pretty hard to watch
Welcome to the channel
That's not what over-driving looks like. You need to watch me if you want to see World Class A1 Over Driving. I hear "DON'T CUT" as a challenge. I move the inside banks of corners like a D9. I broke my hand brake.
I set up my wheel to where 90 degrees will snap a dual 360.
I bypass jumps by still being airborne from the previous jump. I jump over jumps. Guardrails are an affront to my freedom as an elderly naked hairy man.
Real men don't need brakes on a rally car. If you push the accelerator hard enough, pretty quick you'll find something that will stop you.
This looks so boring
Then don’t watch
@@AlexGreenleaf-t7v you should go get a CV booster
@@illxetyou sound like having long term brain damage from covid.
Looks and sounds and feels exactly same as Dirt 2.0, I'll just buy Dirt 2.0 on sale, not wasting £70 on This reskin.
Where on earth are you seeing it for 70 pounds? It's a $50US game. And calling it a reskin with the amount of new stages in the game is pretty unreasonable imo.
@@HeretixAevumyeah, I’d easily pay $50 for all these stages and cars if it was a dlc for dr2. The fact that it’s a whole new game is only a plus.
Lol if it sounds the same it's because Codies did an outstanding job on the audio of DR2.0
So EA WRC that you haven't played feels the same as DR2.0 that you don't own...?
@@Luis7Vazquez7 exactly so why buy the newest version, its just the same stuff
Hey Jimbo, I've been watching this video for 47 minutes, but now I don't have enough time to finish it. I know they improved the tarmac physics, but how does the gravel physics in this game compare to Dirt Rally 2? Is it similar, better, or less realistic?
