At the end of the day, I don't care if Judgement was good or bad, because it gave us its absolute home run of a soundtrack and that's good enough for me.
I did enjoy my time with this game back then. It did a lot wrong, but I enjoyed(and still kinda do) some of its ideas. The actual movesets and animations are surprisingly nice. As for the designs, it seems quite blatant to me that Obata was asked to stray as much as possible, to make his guesting more "notable". Wouldn't be the first time this happens with guest artists on games.
playing this on the Wii I gotta say I really enjoyed it for what it was. nice fighting game Cornell,Carmilla ans Shanoa were my favorites to play with tbh
If you can get past the initial jankness of the game, you'll realize that combos are sick, and there's a lot of fun to be had. Try it out for yourselves, emulate it if you have to.
I remember finding out that Richter wasn't in this game and immediately losing interest. It seems like they wanted to have two of each kind of character, which is why Shanoa and Maria are a pair of sorts, and also explains why there's only two Belmonts. It's still insane to make a game like this with only two Belmonts, being that Castlevania is mostly about the Belmont clan.
Because Belmonts would play the same. They all use the same whip and they all use the same set of special weapons. It makes sense why they didn't fill their already small character roster with a bunch of the same playing whip wielding buff men.
@@lemonov3031 if Street Fighter can give you 8 different Ryus (being Ken, Akuma, Sean, Kage, Sakura, Dan and Gouken), Castlevania could give you at least 4 Belmonts. Have different subweapons, both in functionality and aesthetics. Have different movesets. In Soul Calibur, lots of characters use swords, yet they all use it differently, so there's no reason we should reduce a fighter to "ah, they use the whip".
@@du0lol Street Fighter can have clone characters because it's a long series with a lot of games. For the first ever Castlevania fighter game, it made perfect sense to go for variety, and maybe add more clones with future entries, which it never got. Even if you try to make them a bit different, it would still be worse than just having different characters. Fighter game where you just whip each other to death with no alternative would be boring and pointless, and you don't understand a bit of game design if you seriously suggest that over actual variety.
@@lemonov3031 dude, I AM a game designer lmao. This is actually a very interesting problem to tackle as a designer, because you need to find different fighting styles for each Belmont while still being true to their personalities. Maybe Simon could be a little stiffer, focusing on long-range attacks and working as a zoner, while Richter would be more agile and have the weapon breaks instead of just the subweapons as attacks, being more dangerous at short ranges. Then you could have Trevor as a variation of Simon, for instance. Or even bring out Julius, which could be more flexible since he has no game attached to him (outside of a boss battle in Aria of Sorrow IIRC). Making a Castlevania fighter and only having two Belmonts is like making a Resident Evil fighter and only having, like, Chris and Leon as playable characters.
@@du0lol Except it doesn't have just two Belmonts. Most of the characters present are playable in their own games, and with a limited roster it makes sense to pick playable characters from different games to add variety. That's also the reason for crazy character designs, which I personally like but it's understandable that some people do not. I can understand that someone like Golem could be swapped for Richter, but making 2/3 of the entire roster just Belmonts is nonsense.
despite its many flaws it does have some good character moments such as golem going to fight the time reaper, Knowing it will remove his free thought and thus effectively kill him, but still chooses to fight the time reaper and save everyone because in his mind that is the most human action to do.
A sequel that uses an alternate timeline angle could be interesting, imagine having not only mainline characters but explicitly non-canon ones like Sonia or Desmond, Lords of Shadow characters, even characters from the Netflix show.
Wasn’t Shanoa DLC or required buying Order of Ecclesia to unlock or something like that? One of the complains I remember hearing about this game back in the day was that she was incredibly broken and made the game literally pay to win.
I think connecting Order of Ecclesia with Judgment could both A.) Unlock Shanoa earlier and B.) Unlock bonuses like Hard Mode with a level cap of 255 and an accessory in OOE.
The fact that simon in this was voiced by Mr. Speedwagon himself really caught me off guard. At the time that i used to play this, i didn't realize that it's the same voice actor, lol. But then again, it wouldn't be the first since the English voice for dracula in Rondo of Blood is the same voice actor for Dio in the English Dub
@@jy-li1jq Technically they still would count. The arcade cabinets used modified Wii hardware, like how Tekken 1&2 ran on modified PS1 hardware, or Mario Kart Arcade GP running on modified Gamecube hardware.
I love Judgment. The system is not so terrible as describe, but more wacky arcadig like Power Stone (a good comparison). I played it for hours till I got everything and yes it is very very unbalanced, but the spectacle supers and the great music made it to a good damn time, also I like the art style of the characters. And now to the video. WTF it is like Tekken or Soul Calibur? NO! It's not a 3D fighter, it's a arena fighter like Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm or Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaishi or even the field phase of Pokken. Free movement in a (mostly) circle like arena with a jump button and auto aiming for some attacks. 3D fighters like Tekken or even DOA are on a 2D plane (like Street Fighter), but you can sidestep around your opponent. And yes Power Stone fall under the arena fighter too. Fighting games are PvP games, mostly 1 on 1 and with attacks, blocks and throws the basics of rock paper scissors strategies (which is not the full spectrum of a fighting games, but for the comment length sake). Judgment is a typical arena fighter, which are fun, unbalanced and have busted elements. So for what Judgment wanted to achieve, it achieves that. Also Survival mode is even one of the base fighting game modes. Judgment is even one of the few fighting games that have, with the Castle mode, something more to offer for the singleplayer except of the default Story/Arcade and Survival modes.
I haven't watched the video yet, but thought I would just that personally I loved playing this game with my brother back when it first came out. Had a lot of fun learning the different mechanics for the characters.
These were my peak gaming years. This was a console I bought damn near any non-shovelware, somewhat serious game for. I also am a huge fan of Castlevania. I legitimately didn’t know this game existed until this video.
I imagine another thing that annoyed players is how story mode works. You slowly unlock every character's story mode, but by the time you *should* unlock Aeon... you don't. Instead you unlock the fights with Aeon and the Time Reaper with every other character and only once you beat the Time Reaper with every final character do you finally get to play Aeon's story mode. Considering Aeon is said to be the best character according to the game's fans, it's unlikely that players interested in him liked this decision.
I remember having this game, specifically to get the items it gave you in Order of Ecclesia and vice versa, but ended up playing through almost every character in both story and the little Dracula's castle mode. What really got me is that there was quite a lot of potential here. A fighting game staring a bunch of characters from all over the Castlevania canon is awesome on paper. Hector the forge master versus the tag team of Charlotte and Johnathan, or Julius as last of the Belmont lineage squaring up with the originator Leon Belmont, that would have been sick... But this is what we got... Still probably better than Grimoire of Souls.
Iirc the timeline that came with Portrait of Ruin included the 64 duogy of Castlevania and Cotm. They were canon when PoR came out. Though this game did give me nostalgic memories of Dissidia FF's arena fighting game spin off
Definitely were going to add Soma and then just decided they needed him to be a random OC character instead because that's just what anime fighters do, so they gave him a weird clock thing
I'd like to see more games featuring characters from across the Castlevania series like Harmony of Despair. Hopefully though the sales of the collections recently have shown Konami what fans want and enjoy from the series, even without Iga it would be nice to see the series do well
If Konami wanted to address being too samey, they wouldn't have put an arena-fighter on a console FILLED with arena fighters! Portrait of Ruin and/or Order of Ecclesia as a Wii game would have been a great way to close out the Wii era. Hell, Castlevania Judgement might have been really cool as a DS game with DS-Download-Play.
When they think of too samey they were thinking of their own metroidvania burnout. And there is no guarantee that Ecclesia would sell on the Wii either. Symphony despite being highly acclaimed barely sold 1mil since it's release and Lords of Shadows sold well over 1mil instead
@@nonamepasserbya6658 Yeah, being a greedy corporation and thinking only of sales numbers is why Konami failed, that's got to be common knowledge by now. If they had developed Ecclesia for the Wii with a focus on making it a great game rather than thinking about "no guarantee of sales" then they might be riding high with Platinum Games and Monolith Soft.
@@nonamepasserbya6658 The American Cover art of Symphony doesn't tell you much about the game compared to the Japanese cover, which has Alucard. I wonder if that's the reason why Symphony didn't sell well?????? Not helping matters is that most westerns would play Mortal Kombat for dark action game.
@@xinyyc The problem is that Platinum Games is a much smaller company than Konami. Big sales is needed for a big company, otherwise the company might be in financial trouble. It was pretty fun. While I agree the character designs were a bit off I rather liked what they did with Grant. The bandaged look and chakram weapons were neat. I also really liked the original character Aeon with his watch sword. I wish Konami tried another go at a Castlevania fighting game be it Judgement 2 or something different.
Aeon was also really fun to troll others with due to how quickly his counter came out. Which then charged his clock sword by one stage. You could be really mean with him if you knew what you were doing
just for clarification, judgement is an arena fighter. like the naruto storm series. it's a lot different from traditional 3d like soul calibur and tekken. and it has a lot of the flaws crappy arena fighters have too.
konami should have collabed with arc system works, 8ing or french bread for a proper fighting game. the castlevania casts are already good its just it needs to be executed properly
Would of been cool if instead of a fighting game Judgement was a single player action RPG that kept it's combat intact and had a campaign like Devil May Cry 1 but an open world and RPG mechanics inspired by Dragon Quest VIII.
I actually loved this game, I loved the gothic redesigns I loved the voice acting, it was simple sure and could use more characters but at the time I didn't know much about Castlevania and was amazed they had a werewolf guy in it, never played that game he is from. I loved the music and all and all I think for a first attempt at a Castlevania fighting game it was pretty darn good, it could use some work of course but it was also for the Wii and that console made it hard to do much of anything for devs.
I tried it a couple years ago, and I had a lot of fun with it. It's a pretty decent Power Stone clone. It's also funny that you mention Order of Ecclesia because if you link it up with Judgement, you'll unlock additional content for both.
I remember entering the place where I used to buy games (some sort of mall dedicated only to sell technology and stuff) and catching a glimpse of the box art, I got closer and saw "CASTLEVANIA". Needless to say I left the mall with the game in my backpack, I do not regret it as the music is amazing (tower of dolls and bloody tears are my fav). It takes a while to get the hang of it but once you do, you like it.
It might not be the greatest castlevania game but I think it was a pretty neat spin off. I like that they got Obata to do the art and I think the characters look nice. The remixes of classic castlevania songs sound great too
I like Judgment... as a fighting game. As Castlevania is very random. A great Castlevania spin-off would be like Mudou-style games. Imagine facing a horde of enemies in an open field with your favorite characters! It would be amazing!
Yo Castlevania Warriors would be good I enjoyed playing the Dynasty Warriors an Gundam games what would make it awesome an original story, a lot of characters each with a unique fighting style, co-op, an boss fights an the original ost that would definitely bring it back
The most criminal design AND character Assassination was Maria. WTF with that loli and envy of big boobs joke? She's pretty stacked in Rondo of Blood anyway.
Meanwhile, me, a Fire Emblem fan who also loves Castlevania Judgement: "Wait... Marth = Alucard? cool!" (Yes, Yuri Lowenthal is best known to Fire Emblem fans as the voice behind the original blue-haired lord who started it all, Marth, Prince of Altea!)
Loved this game, I actually got everyone's ending, and defeated galamoth with all of them, it's hard, but also really enjoyable when you get to feel it, it's not about balance and while it's structure like a 3D Fighter in reality it's more like a rhtym game, it was never expected to be played with a normal controller, the "whiping" of the wiimote was an essencial part of the experience, on a simple way this game is "A rhytm game with puzzle elements" because everyone you fight is different and some of them have better movesets you must know how to counter and abuse those elements that's the puzzle part, I mean, did you fight galamoth? that thing isn't a normal fight at all, and yeah.... it is fanservice bait, if you are not into Castlevania it is a poor quality game, other wise is great
The fact they skipped characters like Soma, literally Dracula but good, and Julius the strongest Belmont known to date. The weird redesigns like Shanoa and her weird nun oufit, or Grant looking literally like L. Also, the combat was so shit with those weird camera angles like the game doesn't know if it's an arena fighter like Naruto games or a Soul Calibur like game.
When this came out, I was probably 15 or something and the gothic anime aesthetic really spoke to me. For better or worse I couldn’t really afford it at the time and never played it but did really watch a lot about it on youtube, and yes, can confirm, the soundtrack is great. I totally feel like if they leaned more towards the Powerstone design with 4 people fighting each other at once in a chaotic brawl, everyone trying to pull off their super moves and get as many KO’s as possible within a time limit or something, it would of turned out better.
This game was my introduction to castlevania, perhaps not the best to have but as i kid i thought it was really cool and i do remember playing at least a few times here and there... mostly just to watch that awesome intro cutscene though. And yeah it's a flawed game but for a kid with a wii in the 2000s you really didn't notice that kinda stuff, it had a cool artstyle even if it's very different to what the other games were and yeah. The games not all too good looking back though
yuri lowenthal ended up becoming the voice for classic alucard in all projects after judgement. including the redub of symphony of the night and super smash bros ultimate.
The situation with Castlevania Judgement was like the tech demo for the GameCube, a demonstration of Link fighting Ganon with people being misled that this would be the next title. Fans were getting really hyped up to see the newest TLOZ title to come out, only to find out that the next title would be nowhere near similar to that tech demo, that title was The Windwaker.
In regards to the designs, while I don't love Simon's....I honestly don't hate it. Some of the designs are truly awful, but idk Simon's wasn't the worst imo. I honestly just like the idea of Simon having red hair tbh. Couldn't tell you why, I just think it fits him. In fact, game quality not withstanding, Mirror of Fate is my favorite Simon design to date. I think Richter got the shorter end of the stick in terms of redesigns, all of his non Rondo designs are awful.
ngl your criticism of the roster size felt pretty bad because the other games you referenced were filled with clone characters or characters that just played extremely similar to one another. A large roster is never a good thing if the characters play too close to one another. Some of the greatest fighting games of all time had less than 20 characters in its roster so making it a talking point instead of just acknowledging that it could've been better would have made it a better criticism.
Love the content, I hope you keep it up, but make sure you're staying healthy and not overwhelmed. I have noticed lately that a lot of games that are generally considered bad, seem to have a lot of potential, or at least some good positives. However, a lot of games that are considered super highly have some valid criticisms, especially when compared to other series. (examples of former being the crappy or mediocre Castlevania games, examples of later being Breath of the Wild or God of War (2018).
Honestly I'd really like another shot at a Castlevania fighter if they stuck to the source material better and of course had a bigger and better cast. It's a cool idea, alongside a rerelease of Harmony of Despair. I think this series has potential for a really cool fighter but Judgment lacks polish
I feel like I'm part of the minority here because I love this game. I used to play this with my friends and family back in the day. It was just fun to play. I get the art style is very much Death Note, but I think it does have some charm. Then again, I started Castlevania with Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Ecclessia. I dunno, maybe I'm not as bummed out as everyone else since I haven't played all of the Castlevania games.
See, that's the thing, it's not a bad game. It's not amazing, it has some serious balance issues, some control issues, a comparatively small roster, and is light on content/modes. But, it has amazing music, the characters play pretty differently, and the subweapon mechanic and high DPS nature of matches makes playing this against a player a tense experience, and the fast pace makes it fun to watch. Or, maybe I'm another just Golem main, and nobody in another fighting game quite plays like him, so I'm biased. *shrug*
@StrykerMagnum I didn't know about balance issues or anything, I just played the game. I'm a Simon main, and it was just fun to play the game. I think the only characters that gave me any trouble was probably Dracula, fittingly enough, and Cornell. I never played it online, but I have suspicion where it would've been just people spamming attacks from afar, given the structure of the arenas. I wouldn't mind another attempt at making a fighting game for Castlevania, be it like Soul Caliber 2 or Power Stone. Hell I'd love to see that happen.
@@MrTaikobo A few characters had ridiculous projectile spam, and Dracula's super armor (attacks can't be interrupted) were the major balance problems in PvP, but some tweaking of that and the controls would make it a strong sequel as a more focused 1v1 fighter, but I'd be happy with a Power Stone 4 for all, too. I actually still bust it out at parties a lot, the imbalanced roster ironically being what makes it such a fun group activity- a set of 3 usually takes around 2 minutes, and people are always doing crazy combos and busting out supers like mad! As a competitive fighting game, it's kind of a miss, but I to do this day find the game fun af, and it's always a crowd pleaser, so can it *really* be that bad of a game? I say, no!
@StrykerMagnum Oh, so that's why Dracula gave me shit! Okay, I didn't know he had super armor. That's nasty. Then again, I think he needs it, given how slow he is. Here's the thing: Arena fighting games like Saint Seiya Brave Soldiers are improperly balanced because they favor projectiles so much. Someone like Shanoa or even Eric, if standing at a certain distance, can out poke you at range. If you're going to do an arena style fighting game, I'd say make the projectiles only be on screen one at a time and have higher recovery frames. These forces said players to think about spacing and tactics instead of just mindless spamming. In games like Soul Calibur, you're often in close combat or in neutral, depending on your style. If this was a 2d game like Street Fighter, then zoning or turtle style play can be a viable option. It'll be frustrating as hell for the opponent, but it can work.
@@MrTaikobo Yeah, old Drac plays line Ganondorf in Smash, he gets super armor on a lot of moves, and deals big damage, so he punishes easily. I agree on the projectile limit, but I think just having them have higher recovery frames is a good solution overall, Shoot Style Deku in the My Hero Academia fighter is real cheesy, and Dabi and Himiko also have some super spamable projectiles. That said Id like to see a Castlevania Judgement 2 play a lot like the MHA game, its an arena fighter with a lot of moving and dodging built into the flow of fights, it feels really good to play. Also, I think a big improvement would be having sub weapon and heart containing destructibles have huge hitboxes instead of your character locking onto to them to destroy them, that alone would make Judgement feel a lot better to play.
The biggest problem that I had with the game as a kid was the characters. I knew how certain Castlevania characters already looked, so seeing the character redesigns did not sit well with me.
Igarashi was the producer of Adventure Rebirth. While I was more of a fan of classic than metroid I still played most of the forms it took. I liked Curse of Darkness a bit more than Lament of Innocence and still replay that game somewhat regularly. Harmony of Despair was a bit of a grindy game but it was an alright experience. When they shoved Iga into the broom closet the entire franchise started circling the drain.
Sounds like Bushido Blade design. Which is bar none the best fighting game released. Fights end in potentially seconds, killing your opponent potentially in 2 or 3 hits. Open areas to move around in that connect to other areas. Only thing lacking here is the warrior code that punishes you for hitting the opponent after you win, and the damaged limb system, forcing you down to one knee if your leg gets taken out but you manage to stay alive.

SoulCalibur on the Dreamcast was ahead of its time. Full 3D environmental and movements. By 2008 it's 10 years too late.
Would you give another example?
@@bobosmith101 Fire Emblem Engage had a guest artist.
playing this on the Wii I gotta say I really enjoyed it for what it was.
nice fighting game
Cornell,Carmilla ans Shanoa were my favorites to play with tbh
Nice to see the one of the core tenets of Japanese fighting games intact: The young boy/girl characters will always be OP.
I guess you could say, that Castlevanja Judgement, suffered extremely harsh *JUDGEMENT!*
Keith Silverstein voiced Simon *before* Smash Ultimate? Damn, I didn't see that coming.
Wait... Simon's voice actor for Smash Ultimate is the same as Judgement? Huh... neat.
@@chaossnowkitsune6377 Fun Fact: Keith Silverstein also voices Vector the Crocodile from the Sonic series, starting with Free Riders.
Oh hey, the game with the BDSM Belmont.
despite its many flaws it does have some good character moments such as golem going to fight the time reaper, Knowing it will remove his free thought and thus effectively kill him, but still chooses to fight the time reaper and save everyone because in his mind that is the most human action to do.
If I remember right, it was the easy way to unlock her, but you could do it in the game.
You can unlock her in game, don't remember how though
I think connecting Order of Ecclesia with Judgment could both A.) Unlock Shanoa earlier and B.) Unlock bonuses like Hard Mode with a level cap of 255 and an accessory in OOE.
The fact that simon in this was voiced by Mr. Speedwagon himself really caught me off guard. At the time that i used to play this, i didn't realize that it's the same voice actor, lol. But then again, it wouldn't be the first since the English voice for dracula in Rondo of Blood is the same voice actor for Dio in the English Dub
The only thing I think was bad was the designs for classic characters, and a for Grants last appearance, truly sad
The lack of Tatsunoko VS Capcom mentioning is disturbing. It was a Wii exclusive.
Only if you dont count arcade machines
@@jy-li1jq Technically they still would count.
The arcade cabinets used modified Wii hardware, like how Tekken 1&2 ran on modified PS1 hardware, or Mario Kart Arcade GP running on modified Gamecube hardware.
@@jy-li1jq Fun Fact:Eighting who made Judgment also made T vs C.
Ah yes, F*** Off, Alucard favorite catchphrase
9:37 i hate how i know where that voice line comes from
9:34 i had to like the video after that, you really caught me off guard.
I haven't watched the video yet, but thought I would just that personally I loved playing this game with my brother back when it first came out. Had a lot of fun learning the different mechanics for the characters.
This was my first Castlevania ever and it was such a fun ride, I was so disappointed to find out the other games were all platformers...
9:37 ah, that voice clip really brings me back
These were my peak gaming years.
Though this game did give me nostalgic memories of Dissidia FF's arena fighting game spin off
9:36 The homophobic Yukari meme always makes me laugh.
Judgements versus mode slaps in a casual environment. Holy Water infinites and touch of death combos galore. Super funny game
Definitely were going to add Soma and then just decided they needed him to be a random OC character instead because that's just what anime fighters do, so they gave him a weird clock thing
simon in this game looks like if light yagami ate a piece of wasabi
A good example is Telltale games, they become too big and couldn't make enough games to save themselves which caused them to go bankrupt.
@@chaossnowkitsune6377 The game was made by Eighting, the same guys who made Bloody Roar which is a great fighting game.
just for clarification, judgement is an arena fighter. like the naruto storm series. it's a lot different from traditional 3d like soul calibur and tekken.
and it has a lot of the flaws crappy arena fighters have too.
konami should have collabed with arc system works, 8ing or french bread for a proper fighting game. the castlevania casts are already good its just it needs to be executed properly
Shoutouts to tatsunoko vs capcom on the wii
Great wii exclusive fighting game
9:36 wait a minute I know that clip
I actually like the redesigns and art for this game. Out of control for sure, but I think they’re cool.
I always imagined how would Jonathan/Charlotte work in this game, just to see them react to this version of Eric lmao
I'd imagine them to be like Ferra/Torr, with Jonathan performing the physical attacks while Charlotte does any projectile
Cornell's redesign was top tier, I don't care what anybody says.
Yo Castlevania Warriors would be good I enjoyed playing the Dynasty Warriors an Gundam games what would make it awesome an original story, a lot of characters each with a unique fighting style, co-op, an boss fights an the original ost that would definitely bring it back
I think you mean Mosou style. As in dynasty warriors, bet yeah, that would be neat if done right.
The most criminal design AND character Assassination was Maria. WTF with that loli and envy of big boobs joke? She's pretty stacked in Rondo of Blood anyway.
She's still a small girl. It only makes sense, she's the moe character.
What game is the footage from at 2:26? Thank you!!
Yuri has done a ton of voices..
@@ghoulchan7525 I think it's because he has a youthful voice that's perfect for teenage hero's. The downside that he's hard to take seriously.
@@orangeslash1667 i just hear edgy Ben Tennyson 😢 when it comes to Yuri voicing Alucard.
@@ghoulchan7525 Fun Fact: The Japanese voice for Alucard played Dark Mousy from D.N Angel.
@@orangeslash1667 yeah i read about that. It was kinda interesting
Loved this game, I actually got everyone's ending, and defeated galamoth with all of them, it's hard, but also really enjoyable when you get to feel it, it's not about balance and while it's structure like a 3D Fighter in reality it's more like a rhtym game, it was never expected to be played with a normal controller, the "whiping" of the wiimote was an essencial part of the experience, on a simple way this game is "A rhytm game with puzzle elements" because everyone you fight is different and some of them have better movesets you must know how to counter and abuse those elements that's the puzzle part, I mean, did you fight galamoth? that thing isn't a normal fight at all, and yeah.... it is fanservice bait, if you are not into Castlevania it is a poor quality game, other wise is great
Was caught off guard by 9:35.
I like everything on Shanoa BUT the stupid Nun habit (The hood)
Castlevania Judgement is still one of my favorite arena fighting games of all time. I would love a remake or sequel.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars is on Wii tho which is 🔥
Well, kind saw Nyarly throwing the bait for people to comment about Lords of Shadows, so he can make a future video on that series.
6:04 Grant cosplaying as Soul Calibur's Voldo. Teams well with Camilla, who is cosplaying as Soul Calibur's Ivy.
possibly the best part of Aeo is how the have a different dialogue in his special
yuri lowenthal ended up becoming the voice for classic alucard in all projects after judgement.
including the redub of symphony of the night and super smash bros ultimate.
I just want a gane w all the anime characters and now nocturne characters too especially drolta lol
I'm pretty sure Yuri Lowenthal is better known as spiderman
Isn't Aeon supposed to be the master of Saint Germain from Curse of Darkness?
ngl your criticism of the roster size felt pretty bad because the other games you referenced were filled with clone characters or characters that just played extremely similar to one another. A large roster is never a good thing if the characters play too close to one another. Some of the greatest fighting games of all time had less than 20 characters in its roster so making it a talking point instead of just acknowledging that it could've been better would have made it a better criticism.
Nazeem as Simon Belmont is something I never could have imagine.
But I do now
I dont know, I enjoyed this game too fucking much and it's music is incredible
9:37 YUKARI NO!!!
I'd be down to play a sequel to this game. Make it big give it multiple game modes and maybe a gimmicky coop style castle run.
Honestly I'd really like another shot at a Castlevania fighter if they stuck to the source material better and of course had a bigger and better cast. It's a cool idea, alongside a rerelease of Harmony of Despair. I think this series has potential for a really cool fighter but Judgment lacks polish
That Kung Fu Chaos reference tho.
as a fighting game fan i wanna try this and mess around with it
I feel like I'm part of the minority here because I love this game.
Have you thought about beating persona q with no sub personas
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars was an incredible fighting game and a Wii exclusive. Just saying it is, and everyone should play it.
Those are the best designs. What are you on about nyarly....
Is it bad that I actually enjoyed this game back when it came out..? I think I still have that copy lying around somewhere.
I think the character designs themselves are fantastic, if they were for original characters instead of redesigns for already established ones.
The arena and camera in this game reminds me of Saint Seiya Soldier's Soul
