To everyone saying that the rocket catch was AI... Based on my digging and research, there are no specific details indicating that AI was directly used in the process of catching the Starship booster with the "chopsticks" mechanism during the recent SpaceX launch. The successful catch appears to have been primarily an engineering and control systems achievement, rather than one driven by artificial intelligence. However, while AI was not explicitly mentioned in relation to the booster catch, SpaceX does utilize advanced control systems and algorithms for precision maneuvers. SpaceX employs sophisticated sensor fusion techniques and control algorithms, including Kalman filters, for accurate navigation and positioning of their rockets. I have found mention of AI and machine learning being used to optimize the performance of control systems over time, analyzing past landing attempts to improve future performance. However, this appears to be a general statement about SpaceX's approach rather than a specific reference to the recent booster catch.
yeah I could watch that space x catch over and over, its so good. It's crazy its like a human catching a pea falling from space with their finger tips.
Not the process of chop-stick catch, but the rocket landing itself is AI. Thus, it has to accurately land between the sticks.. There are no humans with a joystick controlling the rocket

Hey Matt, thanks for another epic breakdown! The way you covered the SpaceX chopsticks and Adobe’s latest AI tools was spot on-absolutely mind-blowing to see tech pushing boundaries like that. Adobe Firefly’s new video capabilities and all those AI-powered upgrades in Photoshop and Lightroom really show how much creative potential is out there. Loved how you tied it all together with the AI developments from other platforms too. Always appreciate your insights and the way you keep us all in the loop. Keep up the great work!
I don't understand all the constant attention on Luma's text-to-video generator. As was the case in your example, Luma's output is often weird and disappointing, its prompt adherence is spotty and I'm getting tired of seeing everything rendered in dreary slow-motion. In my humble opinion, Mini-Max is the text-to-video generator to beat. Just as in your example, I generated a still image of the wolf howling at the moon and ran it through Mini-Max and got...a video of a realistic wolf howling at the moon. Imagine that.
It's a bit sketchy of that chatgpt guide to demand my phone number. Emails used to be enough, I think phone number is a step too far for these data brokers shady deals.

People who don’t understand “AI” don’t realize it’s just a tool. As an artist and a programmer seeing people freak out about AI is just ridiculous. It’s very reactionary.

I haven't been playing with the various chat models lately because ChatGPT is just so good now. Its a lot less politically biased since it has been delving into online communities that offer a different kind of perspective than what it was previously fed into its model from the kind of articles that come out of more established sources. My concerns have reversed on this one, for now. I wouldn't be surprised if it changed the culture war conversation for the better as it is better equipped to find a middle ground. It even seems to take things less piously or seriously. Has anyone else noticed this or are you getting a different experience?
As an Adobe Stock contributor, I can confirm a) that we got paid for the images they used for their training purpose and b) the AI generated content was not used to create new AI models.
Maybe just me, but I'd like the AI News separated from Adobe event coverage. I liked the second half of your video much more than the first. I do want to know about the Adobe things, but because so much time is needed for it, I want to consume it differently. I enjoy your content, thank you.
If a person isn’t really into computers or tech most have no idea what’s going on with AI. Firefly is not that good.
Programs like Gimp and Krita still have the advantage, as they can use models such as Flux and Stable Diffusion.
