She is good at that which i am not a fan of, but her tone is so grating/screechy , like chalk on a board to me. When Bey sings without the runs (Learn to be Lonely), she has a gorgeous tone and sounds amazing, I dont know that jessie can pull that off.
Jessie J and Beyonce sing with a lot of soul influence which involves a lot of runs, it is literally one of the things that define soul, R&B, and Gospel music. Those genres gave meaning to complex melismas, so they aren't overdoing it. It may not be your preference, but it takes incredible skill and control to do it. Most singers wish to be able to hit runs even half as good.
I think morisette is more free resonant as you said BUT this isn’t the first time in these videos where they take videos of her in love settings with full production and reverb and the other singers have clips of them practicing at home not even with a mic sometimes seems a bit biased
This was really Agility vs Resonance Cause tbh mori has the better output but jessie can have a good output too while maintaing a more flexible sound. It's down to preference and I believe jessie j has improved so much in all areas of her singing, even with having a lot of health problems in the last few years If i wanted a whitney belted song i'd pick mori any day but for some soul and rnb i'd always bring jessie on

Videos that tried to use " The Singer" competition videos get blocked by copyright. I have heard this repeatedly. That is why I think the comparison video couldn't use them.

He shares a ton of amazing information on music history comparative analysis etc. He has talked about this copyright issue in several well researched videos. He makes so much sense. It's difficult to understand why these companies go so hard, even down to seconds of a clip being used, in a video helping promote an artist.
