Massive Morissette fan and love Nicole. While not shown here what separated the two for me last year was Nicoles performance of "Never Enough" with David Foster. After having seen Morissette sing the living daylights out of " Never Enough" live for a few years now, that song just obeys Morissette, and it really separates many a vocalist for me. Just overall Morissette tiers up. Again love Nicole ,and not taking away she's a force to be reckond over the years. There's also an age difference here. I'm not sure how old Nicole is in some of these clips, but she is 18 years older than Morissette. Thats more wear and tear on the voice longer. Whenever I see these Vs , especially with these Mainstream artists, I hope that Morissette can move into circles with far more opportunities. It is CRIMINAL for an artist like her to still be largely hiding in plain sight. We are losing any development of artists like her and for the future she needs to be everywhere! (Edited to add it was Madison Square Garden with Orchestra not Foster for Nicoles live)
Yes, liked Nicole since PCD days! But, I will need to give it to Mori! All the love to both ladies. Not really a fan of versus vids. Mori can sing on the spot when you ask her while sitting. Check out her recent interview.
With no “prominent” people in the industry (i.e. David Foster, Ellen, Oprah, etc) helping her get an exposure it would really be difficult for Morissette (and other international artists) to crack the US/International market. I was expecting her EP Signature to at least get played in US radio stations but as far as I know it has not. I don’t know what it would take for these stations to showcase one’s songs at least once.
A lot of these Nicole clips are unfair because they’re either right after a dance break/in the middle of a dance performance or when she was ill and losing her voice to her bulimia. However, I do agree that Morisette is a better belter overall. Her mix is almost always balanced and shows a lot of freedom and resonance. Nicole has always been tense and chest from C5 -F5. It’s really her F#s to B5 where she switches to a heady mix, but they aren’t shown here.

Nicole is a very talented singer but she's just way too inconsistent. It's like she doesn't have full control of her voice. Some days it's balanced, soft. Other days it's just a mess. It's sad cause her tone can be GORGEOUS.

Keep in mind depending on what part of the concert they pulled the clips from, Nicole may have been dancing her ass of right before hitting some of those notes. I dunno if the other girl dances in her performances.

They are both belting not mixing. Nicole just has heavier belts than Morissette. Both are using an M1 mechanism very high. Better clips could have been chosen for Nicole Scherzinger.
& some of Nicole's were her absolute worst notes, so I wouldn't be complaining too much if I were a Mori fan lol. I can't believe that Memory performance (Eb5s) where she had laryngitis was used lol smh
You failed to factor in the age of both in some of the videos you were comparing. Comparing a teenaged Morissette's underdeveloped vocals with Nicole 's fully developed vocals is not a rational idea to make conclusions.
This is not a good match up because clearly Morissette have a More beautiful tune. Nicole, she has a good voice, but she sings with a lot of tension and she pushes her voice too much.
