woah thats me i failed Transform Calculus and Fourier series and i am looking to get into bioengineering and am trying to clear the basics before i do that
just failed calc 2 aftwe struggling but getting by in calc 1 and i’ve been so discouraged from it. in highschool i always did well in math and i’m now in college and these classes are really proving to me i need to put much much more effort into it then highschool.
@@justinalonzo2406 TH-cam has excellen sources of information and videos. Keep working at it. Math is like a sport, the more you practice it the better you become. Do not become discouraged. Everything has an explanation and a purpose. Try to see the whole picture and then go into the details. Stay strong and persistent my friend.
What I like about his lectures are the fact that he explains the history and concepts of all these areas in maths and I believe that’s fundamental for understanding why and when we use these concepts rather than just solving questions to pass
Somto Madueke agreed. Giving an historical background of the topic really helps the students get a basic idea how it all begun and thus they are able to relate mathematics to the physical world.

Nowadays, students at schools around the world are as competitive as ever and if you think that they're becoming increasingly "terrified" of maths, then you're absolutely wrong.
My college professor treated calculus exactly the way Mr. Woo said not to: The first day of class he directed our attention to a table of 200 formulas in the back of our text book that had to be memorized. I think my grades would have been much better if Mr. Woo had been teaching the class.

I actually like the idea of a classroom that's more casual in nature, one that deviates from your usual "shut up and do as you're expected" classroom. It eases the tension and makes students more likely to respond to prompts and questions the teacher has. Or at least that's how I see it.

The only time you're obligated to attend a class is when you're a child or a teenager, if you're already an adult you do whatever the hell you want. Mr Woo. Thank you for your enthusiasm and great engagement. I showed your clips to my son and here is something: His choice was to forego joining and playing his group computer racing program for 6 hours to watch clip after clip after clip of your clips. And those he had trouble with he re-run and re-run until he grasped it. And I watched with him !! I am 70 and he is 36 and working day job. After this latest clip he went to local college and picked up programs for older students. And that is what you stimulated. Thank you.
As a 32 yr old, taking calc this fall, and studying math for 400+ hrs in 5 months, this is the motivation I'm always looking for. It's never too late. Remember that!🙏🙏📿
That introduction is something I needed to hear years ago. I am about halfway through my engineering degree right now and had I have treated calculus like that sooner it would’ve saved me many headaches

When I took first year calculus the prof. came out and just started writing formulas on the board and talking about limits to infinity. I had to no idea why I was doing anything I just followed the rules. I managed to scrape through derivatives but integration did not well so I took the full course again the next year. This time the prof was like Eddie Woo. She explained everything in terms of physics and the "why" of each exercise. The second time I got an A in the course and I really loved it. I am now a science teacher and this experience has always informed my teaching.
Those background behind every math concept he introduced was really inspirational and helped students to understand how an simple idea was evolved to a math equation. This is the way math meant to be taught, rather than throwing a bunch of equations without any background. Really appreciate this kind of teaching style.

Salma Zain. I am 70yrs old, I was consider very bright when young. I can see and follow where this wonderful teacher goes. Try your hardest, you CAN his explanations are graspable. Work with him, if need be run the clip multiple times with close captions in your native language and you will get with it.

I remember, when my physics teacher used to take a lecture, listening to him seems like I was listening to some story. We were so oblivious to the passage of time, never knew how we apent so long hours just by sitting in front of that man hearing him. Those were the days I miss so much.

When I was in school I'd have been talking and not paying attention, too. Now I'm 29 and wondering things that I didn't bother to learn when I was younger and just wish the kids would stop interrupting and let me listen to this charismatic and passionate lesson from someone who is interested in his subject enough to make this presentation compelling as hell. This teacher is so damn good. He explains key concepts-not just procedures-and has great enthusiasm. I wish that the students would show more respect for the great teaching that they are getting.
I am almost failing pre-algebra but Eddie makes his lessons so understandable even I am able to learn from them and not be confused. So hats off to you sir for having advanced lessons but being such a great teacher it seems easy for a lot of people.

I have learned calculus all the way till University until I quit sciences, so it happens to be one of the topics in maths that I understand (I think) and this was still great to watch!

Learning already discovered Math theorems and applying them is perhaps is the easiest thing. Just straight forward logic almost all the times. No need of common sense also. There's no mind bending stuff in it. But discovering theorems is mind bending.

Makes you appreciate how hard these teachers work. Beautiful example of how it should be done: pass on knowledge while interacting with students on their level. Students feel this man as genuine and passionate and treat him with respect because of that.

Your enthusiasm is fantastic. I'm taking some calc at college right now & most professors dont have any enthusiasm, they just wanna go home. I know a lot of stuff is boring & its a job for them, I dont expect them to come to work everyday happy as fuck to teach calculus but damn at least get engaged once in a while jeez, we dont always have to hate life everyday. I'm not absolutely in love with math but it does have very interesting stuff going on with it & I find that when you can make it fun & interesting, your performance tends to go up gee weird how that happens huh.
I'm starting to learn caulculus on my own, it's been roughly 2 years since I've studied anything formally, and I want to approach this as a way of distraction that isn't videogames and the hub, and also to learn something different that isn't songs on the guitar... Wish me luck!

I had to no idea why I was doing anything I just followed the rules. I managed to scrape through derivatives but integration did not well so I took the full course again the next year. This time the prof was like Eddie Woo. She explained everything in terms of physics and the "why" of each exercise. The second time I got an A in the course and I really loved it. I am now a science teacher and this experience has always informed my teaching.
Wow! What a gifted and engaging teacher. Imagine how many lives he has so positively impacted over his career. He was BORN to teach!
Those background behind every math concept he introduced was really inspirational and helped students to understand how an simple idea was evolved to a math equation. This is the way math meant to be taught, rather than throwing a bunch of equations without any background. Really appreciate this kind of teaching style.

Salma Zain. I am 70yrs old, I was consider very bright when young. I can see and follow where this wonderful teacher goes. Try your hardest, you CAN his explanations are graspable. Work with him, if need be run the clip multiple times with close captions in your native language and you will get with it.

I remember, when my physics teacher used to take a lecture, listening to him seems like I was listening to some story. We were so oblivious to the passage of time, never knew how we apent so long hours just by sitting in front of that man hearing him. Those were the days I miss so much.

This teacher is so damn good. He explains key concepts-not just procedures-and has great enthusiasm. I wish that the students would show more respect for the great teaching that they are getting.
I am almost failing pre-algebra but Eddie makes his lessons so understandable even I am able to learn from them and not be confused. So hats off to you sir for having advanced lessons but being such a great teacher it seems easy for a lot of people.

Learning already discovered Math theorems and applying them is perhaps is the easiest thing. Just straight forward logic almost all the times. No need of common sense also. There's no mind bending stuff in it. But discovering theorems is mind bending.

Your enthusiasm is fantastic. I'm taking some calc at college right now & most professors dont have any enthusiasm, they just wanna go home. I know a lot of stuff is boring & its a job for them, I dont expect them to come to work everyday happy as fuck to teach calculus but damn at least get engaged once in a while jeez, we dont always have to hate life everyday. I'm not absolutely in love with math but it does have very interesting stuff going on with it & I find that when you can make it fun & interesting, your performance tends to go up gee weird how that happens huh.
I'm starting to learn caulculus on my own, it's been roughly 2 years since I've studied anything formally, and I want to approach this as a way of distraction that isn't videogames and the hub, and also to learn something different that isn't songs on the guitar...
