@whiskeyisajourney recorded my 3rd video this morning. Going to start editing these 3 later. I have another video I'm going to do probably tmr. I want to do a blind tournament of my top bourbons, but I keep buying more bottles lol.
I had just seen this on the shelf at BINNNY's. I passed on it and went with an Old Forester 1920. Just not in the mood at that moment for something untasted. Thanks for yours and Her insight. Have a Merry Christmas
What is wild is when I tried a sample of the 7 yr BIB, it was amazing! After opening and trying a new bottle a few times, it wasn't even close to the sample.
I bought this one, the wheated, and the barrel proof (non wheated bourbon) and was a little let down by all. I didn't hate them, but i feel like they are over-hyped.
In my journey, I am a big Ben Holladay fan. This regular bib is one of my least favorites from their offerings but I usually still enjoy it. Bummed it didn't hit home for you.
This is the only Ben H. that I've tried and it's a one and done. $60 for me. There are a TON of better bottles at $65 down to $28 IMO. JD SB BP, OF 1920 & 1910, WT Rare Breed for $45, down to KC 9 for $28 and MM 46 for $28 just to mention a few.
MB I can promise you, YOU are my favorite sister of Peter's. 😉 I can find BH BiB at my local Sams for $40 (in eastern Nebraska). I've resisted all BH cuz what I hear doesn't pique my interest. You whiskey tubers are so good at communicating your impressions, I am so grateful the guidance. cheers!
$40!!! What? That's a great price. I still wouldn't buy another bottle, but that's still a good price. Mary-Bridget will be happy to hear that she is your favorite. Cheers!
Store owner gave me a sample months ago and it’s just okay. I had a sample of the Soft Red Rickhouse yesterday and it’s just okay also. I wouldn’t buy either one. Cheers!
No! The Rickhouse proof is supposed to be the best one. If you don't return it please let me know what you think if it. A lot of people really like it. Never mind. I misread what you said. If you feel like you want to return this one I would not blame you.
I don't how why but the BH line were all over the shelves and getting rave reviews but I just kept walking passed them. Figured I'd have a chance to taste someones bottle before buying but never did. So seems I got lucky.
Right! Rickhouse proof. I could not remember that to save me life. This bottle doesn't hit my palate the right way. I like the soft red wheat more. Not sure what's going on with this one. It's just a miss for me.
Thanks for the review. I had a pour of this and put it right into, don't even bother buying it category lol.
I can see that. How's the channel prep coming along. I saw SLB talking about it on the livestream.

@@CGsYTChannel I can't wait to see them. Looking forward to it.
I tried this last weekend. It wasn’t bad…. But I’m glad I got a pour from a friend. I won’t be buying it myself. Thanks for your content. 👍👏🏻
When you run into bottles like this, it's nice to try them first before you buy... Or don't buy.

Merry Christmas to you as well. I would reach for OF 1920 over this everyday.

That sucks! Sorry to hear that.
I got a few bottles of the 7 year and I do like it.
@@mattschmitt9924 it's actually starting to open up a bit, and finally getting some of those very nice flavors.
I finished a BH BiB and also skipped. The bitter aftertaste was a factor. And agree on choosing JB Black 7 over this.
The Jim Beam Black 7 was a good surprise this year. Happy new year!

I am not overly impressed with them either. Cheers!

They all can't be hitters. I am going to keep my eye out for the rickhouse bottle. Maybe that one will keep me interested in the brand. Cheers!

I am right there with you. Cheers!
Totally agree with you.
Let it open up. I thought the same. Now a few months in it's very flavorful and I love it.
@@BrettDavis-yz8oe Is that yz8oe referring to a Yamaha? Don't get me wrong it's good whiskey, I just think it should be $40ish.
@BrettDavis-yz8oe sounds good. I'll give it some more time. Cheers!
This one had a metallic note on the palate that I wasn’t into. It’s a skip for me.
I was hoping it was going to be a little bit better since the last time I had it, but to no avail. Oh well. On to the next bottle.

Awwww, thanks! ☺ But our sister is pretty darn awesome too! 💕

I'm still waiting to get a taste of the Rickhouse.
Ouch! Or I guess wow! A Jim Beam 7 year old trounces this craft offering. I got the Rick house proof one but this one I may try to return to TW now.

The cask strength versions are substantially better.
That seems to be the consensus.

This one was my least favorite of their offerings. The rickhouse soft red wheat is something truly special though.
I liked the Soft Red Wheat better. If you are a bar person and can get a pour of that I say give it a try.
@jhood33 that's the one I couldn't remember the name of.
Hmmmmmmm - I am not sure how you got a skip off this. The higher proof is called Rickhouse Proof
Right! Rickhouse proof. I could not remember that to save me life. This bottle doesn't hit my palate the right way. I like the soft red wheat more. Not sure what's going on with this one. It's just a miss for me.
Heaven Hill BiB is a better option
I agree. Cheers!
