I love how your whole message is about giving knowledge but not limiting its’ usage and the filmer’s creativity and personal taste. It feels like advice and not a video on how to do things. And you’re unapologetic about your art too which is something I love 😂 keep grinding bro, your art inspires me
Pinned but no comments, let me change that
i just wanna say that God, Mary and Jesus love you so much! They saved me from cancer (without any tratament just praying) and They are with you❤
@@officials2ti just wanna say that God, Mary and Jesus love you so much! They saved me from cancer (without any tratament just praying) and They are with you❤
Well said brother
if the word cinematic bothers you.... I promise its going to be okay. take a breather and maybe come back to it later
Big fan of you dawg
It bothers me since a lot of people just mash snippets, pop a preset then call it cinematic.
But you're shit's too good so use the term all you like my dude! 😂
@@tambokpatikan3700 understandable . I get it. Some people just get immediately upset when they see it and it’s like a word for a reason haha I appreciate you
That’s what I meant with my comment Vuh, word to Tambok. For me, it has gotten to the point where it’s overused, the word cinematic has become a buzzword and I was just airing out that frustration. That’s all, 10q.
Huge fan of your work. I’d like to see you apply these rules using a super affordable DSLR and lens or like the first camera you ever bought. Like a little challenge for the 🐐
Honorable mention I think would be color grading, what stood out to me during the breakfast sequence was how beautifully it was graded
I second that. His grading is very recognisable and pleasing to the eye, without being too limited to a specific color contrast.
What program did he use?
@@ufukkiblathe uses dehancer pro
@@tylerrossum3659 I use davinci .
You’re so dope! Great video!!!
MY MAN! You are the first TH-camr in this field that I know of that mentions the importance of sound design. I'm a photographer with a background in sound design and my experience is that a lot of filmmakers underestimate how sound design can enhance your scenes drastically. Thank you sir!
Absolutely! So important for immersion. And so easy to get wrong.
Thank you for this 🙏🏾 sounds is what I'm working on
Man thank you. It’s an easy thing to forget about or take a backseat on for a lot of people but I love it and take just as serious as the visuals
@@vuhlandes Thats nutty I made a mental note on the sound design at the intro didnt expect it to be brought up
There's been so many videos of people talking about sound design in the filmmaking space. This is a great video, but he's certainly not the first person.
What I learn a lot from you is the prop layouts. You make use of various vintage, colorful props and locations so well. When they meet your color grading skills, your iconic style comes out.
What a beautiful comment . Thank you
@@vuhlandes he us just telling it like it is Vulandes. you are humble and down to earth and give practical tips that are helpful, example shooting on the shadow side and as to why, the triangle way of shooting extremely helpful. and so much more. I have downloaded so many of your tuts and it's become my go to & even use some of your ideas and shot that you take. so you have become one of my icons.
Prefect tho this really just put me in a lane
@@vuhlandes cinematic tricks I think bokeh effects = shallow depth of field + closed up shot + 180 degree rules + ND filter
the way the sound of the cooking spray begins before we see the shot of the spraying is so subtle and crazy, i never notice how often its used in movies and shows
True! Even with the bacon sizzle 😊Thanks for pointing that out. I’m a total newbie 😅
J cut if i’m not mistaken
I gotta say, I love your general message you put in all these "tutorial"-style videos. Telling us YOUR way but still giving room for every other creative choices people can make, if that's their flow. keep it up!
Your style is dope af. People rely on artificial light way too much, and honestly indoors you definitely need that. But even indoors when enough natural light is available, it’s often not utilized enough. People also do creative things with artificial light which is cool. But your style brings a nostalgic kind of vibe, almost dream like. I dig it.
Dude, your “talking to camera” shot is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen on TH-cam. Not that that’s a thing TH-camrs strive for, but so refreshing. I just paused and stared at it for like 15 minutes
word the wide angle lens really fucks with him and the color grading matches the environment
Just discovered your channel. Whatever LUTS are in this video are so sick. Your colour grading is so vibrant yet soft. It's really impressive
Great content. I really love your chill vibe. No need to get all hyped up and talk at 100mph your presentation is laid back and a joy to watch because of it. I appreciate your work!
Must say you're the voice of youtube that i could listen (and of course watch) all day long! Top quality stuff, very inspiring. Greetings from Poland ✌
I think certain natural light, detail shots and steady composition can make wonders for anyones footage. Looks really cool!
I loved your discussion on sound design. My videos are travel/vlog/documentary. But I've found that the videos feel really flat without sound. The murmur of a crowd inside, birds or cars outside make a huge difference (wind is generally a big pain in the you-know-what, but it also has its place). Good video! Glad I found your channel!
so glad I clicked on your page. its a so relaxing just listening to you explain stuff its just so simple to understand, and dont fall asleep trying to grasp something and at the end still don't get it. your visual and storyline is so easy to follow for someone who want to know how to shoot cinematic. appreciate ot 1000% keep doing what you are doing and thanks!
8:50 i think the sounddesign improves the image usually because its like a compositional thing that draws your attention to something, like if there is a sound in the foreground, your brain automatically looks for the source of the sound, so its a bit like leading lines or general composition stuff in a way that it focuses your attention on something and makes it easier to notice
In that case it also looks better because he color corrected the clip hehe
How do you manage to get every single colour to pop in a video like that. Unreal
Color grading
I Subscribed to you not long ago and around that time I was scripting up ideas for cinematic videos - My thought was to film everyday tasks like making breakfast, working out, writing, and editing, all in the most cinematic form possible; following that up with a moody edit to fit a vibe. It is wicked to see someone else doing this before I jump into it - It certainly is not an original idea but very useful for creatives who want to release more on TH-cam. Cheers bro!
would love to see a video on how you grade your own videos specifically and have a little breakdown on what to look for while colorgrading. thanks for yet again another great video🫶🏼
Immediately the color scheme and sound quality here is aesthetically pleasing. keep bringing this content bro. cheers!
Just found your channel and I’m literally binge watching all your videos you’re amazing from the explaining to showing I’m literally hooked… you deserve a spot in Hollywood YOU’RE THAT GOOD
Wow. Thank you sooo much
Just found this channel. Bought a ZV E10 about a week ago as my first real camera. I’d been using a Canon Powershot from 10-12 years ago for forever and now that I’ve got something better I’ve been working hard to improve. This video is exactly what I was looking for. Informative, to the point and no filler. Great work!
How’s it gone? I’m the market for my first real camera
@@shanesureman I honestly haven’t had much time to make videos for TH-cam but I have started woodworking and might make videos on that. That said, I have made videos for others like b roll of people working in a cafe or videos about someone’s car and it’s been a pleasure. It’s got its limitations but is exactly what I think should be in a persons first real camera. 4K at 24 or 30fps. Downsampled from 6k. Easy to learn. You can adjust any setting you feel like you know what to do with and let the camera decide anything you’re not sure about. The absolute only downside in my opinion is that you’ll get some jello wobble if you move side to side too fast and a little bit too if you vlog with it, you’ll see a little wobble. But otherwise, I highly recommend it.
Fire as always!! I'm attempting a cinematic video for the first time today. Your videos always inspire me
Vuhlandes is my favorite content creator of all time hands down. Taught me so much and I always gotta show love no matter what. I get motivated to go outside and do shit esskedit ‼️
Man you are awesome! You carry a wonderful attitude and vibe throughout the video, the way you speak and the shots everything. The sound related tip was really the killer one! Inspiring videos
The way you cracked that egg was absolutely chaotic
😂😂😂😂
Love the sound and close shots
Honestly solid advice. Another tiny thing would be focus. Either a fixed focus point or a shifting focus but that second one can be a lil tricky.
Love your use of pastelle colors on the faded film look it’s unique and amazing nice vid👌
I gotta say this is so much better than other “cinematic” videos on TH-cam with all these whooshes and nauseating camera movements and these random ass gimbal rolls for no reason. Thank you sir
Thank you ! I’m not a stickler for anything except plain old fashioned cinema
