Wishing you a lovely week!
YESS the video I've been waiting for!!
Sure, I've enjoyed your videos for a long time and a video like this has been missing until now. Thanks for that, I learned a lot!
Very informative, your process is very thorough. I know you said color grading would take a long time in this video, but I'd love to see a video of how you do color grade. It makes your videos so warm and comforting to watch
This one 🗣️🗣️
He said they’re on his patreon, judging from how thorough this is for an overview, it’s probably worth it (:
Teo, you made art out of a "how to make a video" video. Wow. It was both beautiful and extremely useful. Laying out audio before adding the video clips is something I never thought of doing. I also appreciate that you are creative with your tools and don't buy the newest gears.
I loved this video. Thank you so much, Teo!!
Ahh so happy this was helpful to you! Thank you for the kind comment🫶🏼☺️
PLEASEE DO A COLOR GRADE VIDEOS
Pretty please 🙏
Please.
This is great!
A dedicated color grading video would be awesome!
mans is a one-man production powerhouse 😱
The only youtuber not using Sony a7siii
Your perfectionism in your voiceovers is one of the main reasons I love your channel. It's such a smooth listening experience that makes the videos much more enjoyable.
Not just a tutorial was worth watching, but the visuals, cozy touch, and aesthetic are so good that in the middle, I forgot that I was watching a tutorial rather than the short movie. Beautiful! ❤
The amount of work that goes into one video is insane, great job dude, you are my new favorite creator!
Your colour grading looks dope man❤❤❤
I think you are doing a really great job with giving your audience a quality experience when they go to your channel. I have been looking at other youtubers who do cinematic videos and I can say this is one of the best ones I have found. Your process and execution of whatever you have in mind is really good. I hope to also capture life and show it to the world. Thanks for sharing the process of making your craft.
Exactly what i asked for !! Love all your videos man!
the god of editing, my favorite creator! thank you for this!!
so excited for this one!! 💚
Teo, I’m so glad I stumbled across your TH-cam channel and I love each and every one of your videos. With this video, my respect and admiration grew even more because of the love, care and the level of detail you put into each and every video. Thank you 🙏
Your works are so inspiring Teo, please continue creating art. Sending love from the Philippines 🤍
god, watching your videos is SO soothing, this is the perfect little corner of the internet that you created! I love you videos a lot. this was very informative and interesting to watch :) I never thought about writing ths cript not as a first step or making the video's Audio before the visuals but it makes perfect sense!
Watching in south Korea! Every single of your videos are super professional. Hope your videos never ends. I happily wait for your videos. Thank you for your videos and I hope your every photos and videos goes well. Cheering from the other side of the world! 😊
As always a seriously great video!! Hope more people see it soon, I think your channel can inspire people to change the way they make videos on youtube!
I really love your color grading. Can you please make a breakdown video?
Teo, I think it would be a great idea to do a video on 'cheap cameras on Amazon' and tell your viewers that equipment doesn't always matter.
I'm a huge fan of these types of videos! ❤
Hey bud! I was hoping this video came out one day or another.
Followed your account because of the sheer focus of beauty, narrative, and simplicity (despite the huge work that goes in!)
I'm only entering the world of videography, so after finally looking at my first gear purchase in the next payslip, seeing your gear match 95% of my buying list gave me a warm chuckle to realise (the exception of A7Sii for that sweet sweet video focus and affordability!)
Despite not being into photography myself, you have a way of swaying those into the elegance and impact it creates.
Have a lovely life ahead, friend! And looking forward to what comes next.
Your videos are always so high quality. Good work!
Ohh shoot, hi Alex! Thank you so much, I appreciate the comment :))
I just recently listened to your podcast episode with Flo - it was really fun to get to know you a little through that :D
This just made me oddly happy. I always thought people who make videos on such a professional level always have a tight skript and moodboard or even storyboard before they start filming. Really nice to see that you have a similar progress to me that only starts to develop into something visual after you have finished recording the skript already :D
The color grading on this was just wonderful. Good stuff
Got to say: I really like the audio of this video. Great voice; great audio.
Excellent video as always, and I gotta admit, that squarespace ad was golden! I hope they are paying you well for that extra effort you put into it :)
Deep Dive into the mind of Teo 💭 (I love it
Love from India brother. Absolutely loved watching this video. I am a beginner and I needed some quality guidance such as this, each and every point was broken down and explained so beautifully.. Keep up the good work brother. Grateful for your craft 🫶
I've been in love with your videos visual side for so long now and just yesterday tried to figure out if you've uploaded a video like this!
another cool and very useful video, thank you so much Teo for making us part of your amazing work!
As always, fantastic video Teo!
Thank you for this video Teo!
This video was super useful and super thorough. Thank you for taking the time to share your methods!!! Really inspiring
So good!! I’m about to restart my TH-cam journey and you have been such a big inspiration! Thanks for the tips! 📸
OMG ITS TEO!
Also I've been needing this video for so long thank you!!
This was so useful for a project I have. Thank you!
Please make a video on colour grading❤❤
great timing because I got myself an xh2s pretty recently
This was insanely helpful, thank you Teo!
It's interesting how gear importance is different for photography and video.
For digital photography of more or less steady images, I'd say a lens is much more important than a camera body.
But for videos, a camera body is of greater importance, since it defines auto-focus and raw format.
Thank you for this. As a small content creator his is so useful
Love this!
Muy bien vídeo! Muchas gracias
Thank you Theo !
This is such an informative video. Thank you so much for sharing your process do detailed like this. It was so helpful :)
The way you talk😭❤
My fav photography TH-camr fr tho
Yall his color grading videos are on his patreon, I’m sure they’re worth it !
This is so good! What Log profile do you use on your a7iii? I love your color grading dude!
As mentioned in the video, I personally use HLG2👍🏼
Amazing Teo!! Always inspiring, thank you so much for that.
Very helpful and interesting to see how your art is coming to life! :]
This sony pr be crazy bro.
Absolutely amazing work Teo! Was the video you mentioned with the interview out already? I can’t see it.
Thank you!🥹🙏🏼
Yes, it’s one of my last couple videos called “the simple habit to improve your photography”🙌🏼
great, thanks! so slog and nds is the key for your behind the scenes videos?
Sure!☺️
I‘m not sure how you got that idea? I specifically said, that I don’t shoot in S-Log🤔 And yes indeed, NDs are great but I don’t even have one for my GoPro, so actually I think calling an ND-filter „the key“ is a bit of an overstatement👀
mannnn, have you made a tutorial about your color grading? i love the color, like i'm not joking
Cool😮
nicely done!!!!
You should buy the ameran 60x with the small rig 99w battery and the aperture mini soft box
This set up will be a similar size to your light, but way more powerful, no cables and it’s bio color which is super important when shooting indoors
Thanks for the tip!✨
Hey Teo is the Gopro 8 what you used to record your short little video clips in your Japan vlogs like the clips before you would typically describe a shot you took of the same scene you were filming?
No, those were shot on an Iphone 11😅 I didn’t want the POV and fisheye look for those videos but I also didn’t want to carry around my Sony, so I just used my phone👍🏼
Great video. With a fledgling channel, I'm constantly learning and I greatly appreciate well crafted videos like this. I especially found your editing and exporting interesting. My editing takes a long time because I like to do everything all at once as I go through my timeline. Yours feels like it's more efficient, but I've tried with just audio before and that feels unintuitive to me because I don't know where my footage will be placed with it at first, and I'm not sure how to overcome that.
Hi Teo! Amazing video and genuinely makes me want to start! Do you shoot in s-log3 or what do you normally shoot in before color grading? Thank you😭😭
Bro showing us how to get it done lol EXCELLENT work
hello! may I ask how do you get the over head/vertical shots?
You mean on the table? I simply invert my tripod😅😂 To do it properly you‘d use a C-Stand I suppose but I don’t have one nor do I want one with the little space I have in my room. So I just make my tripod somehow work as a Top-down rig🤷🏻♂️😅
@@teocrawford bruh🤣🤣 but thankyou, I see now that there are no option but either a c stand or a tripod.
are you using filters like VND or mist in your videos ?
Ahh yes, I usually have an variable ND filter and a Cinebloom 10% filter stacked onto the Tamron :)
aha I like this.
Do you use any mist filters on your lenses?
Ohh yes! Only on the Tamron actually, because my 14mm can’t take filters haha. I use a Moment Cinebloom 10% filter🙌🏼
What is your a7iii settings and do you usually put ND ? I have been struggling.
I always use an ND filter and a Cinebloom filter (10%) stacked on top of each other on my lens.
My A7iii is set to shoot 4k 25fps in the picture profile HLG2. Be careful though, Premiere will falsely interpret HLG2 at first and make it look super overexposed when you import the footage. Make sure to right click on the file inside of Premiere, go to “modify”, then click “color” and select Rec. 709 at the bottom where it says “Override media color space”. Then your footage will look normal and you can colour grade it quite easily🙌🏼✨
i love this!!! do you edit your videos on windows or mac?
I‘ve been editing on Windows for ever but I‘m actually going to try a Macbook this year, because I need a new laptop (mine is way too old😵💫💨)
What software does he use for the editing and colourgrading?
your pov quality look dam good. do you have a video or tips on getting better gopro footage? I have a 9 and im trying to play round with diffision and nd filters. I added the media mod and a small eternal mic (size of a battery) with L shaped audio adapter. unsure of ideal settings for sharpness, WB, color profile. im shooting 5k, 24fps ss 1/48, linear
Thank you! Actually I don’t add anything, no filters or such, just do some colour grading. I did actually make a settings video though back when I got it. So it‘s a bit old but if you search for „Gopro Hero 8 cinematic settings Teo Crawford“ you should be able to find it🙌🏼
Ive nevee thought about such a "reverse engineering" as building sound+music first, and then add visuals. Ofc i dont edit video as often as you, but im quite familiar with this process, and i always add music at last place. Maybe ill try use this tip in a future :))
And about 14mm. I LOVE wide shots, expecially well composed. I think, its more about perception and immersion closer into scene as a viewer, and not about "my room is too small" hehe)
As always the video is magnificent ♥
Ahh glad I could add something new that you didn’t know yet☺️🙌🏼
Can you dedicate a video of how you retouch your raw photos,( for example transforming that raw photo into nostalgic effect)
As mentioned in the video - I post a lot of educational content like that on my Patreon🫶🏼✨
How you know the timeline off the video if you record the voice over first? What about edit the video first, and then record the voiceover with the script as the guidance.
I edit the audio first, because it is the priority. The visuals follow as the second priority and hence I will think of the timeline after designing the audio of the video.
I know it's a bit weird, but it is works best for my style of videos :)
Dam it! I watch in 4K this film, and its improved my knowledge a lot and the light part was dam 👌 i was thinking that i am gonna buy a very good light, but you suggest me this good light and microphone 🎤 great to see you keep going buddy much appreciated to you for this video
You said you use HLG on the Sony A 7 III, which HLG profile do you prefer? Your footage looks great and I also have the A7 III
Love this video🔥 and I just wanted to ask what font you used in this video?
Hey! What font do you use? :)
wow the explanation was thorough and neat and this video itself had so many things to learn from! it kind of did scare me from editing though heh
does someone already said that your voice is so lovely??
Where did you get the yellow lamp? :DDD
Second hand, from some random person selling it. But it's originally actually an Ikea lamp. They still sell it but sadly not in this colour, so you'll have to check the second hand market :)
hello! you seem to have your photographs printed off when displaying them in some of your videos. do you typically order these online, print them yourself, or have them printed in a local shop? thankyou!!
Audio is 🔥
New Lumix camera at 11:12?
That’s a Pre-model of a Lumix S5xii which Lumix very kindly sent to me to try. I‘ve been using it occasionally and it has come in handy very much when I needed a second camera or like in this video to film the Sony itself. However so far I still prefer the Sony, so I use the Sony 99% of the time👍🏼
Teo said I listen to my viewers, But can we license your work to use in some of our videos, report etc.
That was lovely
How do you do the scribbly moving handwritten text?
Use fractal noise and a displacement map in After Effects🙌🏼 Just search for „Wiggly Text After Effects Tutorial“ and you‘ll find it!☺️
@@teocrawford legend
This is amazing, thanks for sharing!!!!!
man i like your grading its so Good.!
the only comment/constructive critcism i have is that your voice is very low so comes over very bassy on my setup (possibly not on mobile) probably some low end cut would be required other than that videos look superb and give me a feeling of nostalgia (i use a studio setup with a sub woofer for context!)
I rather like it
Ahh thank you for the info! I've always been aware of that and actually the lowest frequencies are already cut and the bass frequencies are lower than what I used to set in the EQ haha - so on my headphones it sounds fine, on mobile and TV also - but on a subwoofer... well that might be different hahah. Anyway, thank you :)
❤
Pls what mic is that you using 🙏
I mentioned it in the video - was someone not paying attention in class? :,D
It's a Rode Video Micro :)
@@teocrawford yea I dropped the comment while watching I was thinking you weren't going to mention cos the audio was dope
@@theboxtv3800 Ahh haha no worries! :D
Hi.. I am looking for a course that suit my idea and I found this channel. I like your type of color grade, and how to make a video like a pro. do you have a course or online class about photography and/or videography?
Hi! I don’t have a course (yet) but if you are looking for tutorials on my colour grading I do have a couple of those on my Patreon. They’re a bit more specific and not as streamlined as a course would be, but still offer you a detailed look into how I colour my videos☺️🙌🏼✨

@@teocrawford thank you. i will check it out.
Really really nice content and video production.
Thank you for sharing, Uncle Shu from Sarawak, Borneo Island visit your channel Bro 🙋🏻♂️
A bought a camera recently, but I don't know what to film, also I only have a 100mm lens and a 270mm lens... I want to be a video maker/film maker
Ohhh that sounds like a great limitation to spark your inspiration! Make it a personal challenge - shooting short films with only tele-photo lenses or only the 100mm lens and see what you can come up with. That's actually one of the most effective ways to practice your creativity.
Maybe go on a search online for directors, cinematographers or photographers who use long lenses a lot and see what kind of stuff they make and try copying them at first. It's ok to begin by copying simply to learn. Then later on you will eventually find your own thing :)
color grade video please!!!
i love your voice
Font name?
very nice! lol I do the opposite But I shoot my flights edit out the boring and then try to find the right track to match the feel of that flight! lol If your ever in Toronto I have a Mic for ya lol
