@@micha1208 Hey mich! Thanks so much for your kind comment. I really appreciate you checking out me videos! Let me refer you to a channel by the name of Aida Druida. She's in Tbilisi now and does some updates. Even though I've been to Thailand a few times, I've never been to Chiang Mai so I can't do a comparison video and I would have to know you really well to know what's better FOR YOU. They're very different spots! In Chiang Mai you'd have all the infra-structure in place for digital nomad work. Great internet, co-working spaces etc TONS of expats (too many?) It's most certainly NOT off the beaten track and I would imagine fairly westernized. Tropical weather. Tbilisi is more of a city but keeps a small town charm, just as cheap, good internet, not tropical and colder during winter (which means snowboarding) As for beaches, you'd be better off in Thailand. Lots of co-working spaces in Georgia too. Less English than Thailand but still easy to get by. I also don't know how much you've traveled, if you want a challenge or something more familiar... The list goes on and on. Hope I've managed to help a little. :-)

I spent 6 months in Georgia, the natural beauty is astounding.
One thing I learnt, Georgians love to here people praising their country, so if you are using transport and they are charging you more that they quoted, or you are leaving a hotel early because it's far too noisy, or doors don't work, or water doesn't work or air-conditioned doesn't work, and they won't refund your payment, just tell them how beautiful Georgia us and they'll quickly give in

    • @marekdackus7950
      @marekdackus7950 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

The reality is, there is a lot of arrogance and shit attitudes in Georgia (lack of patience, casually lying, Soviet style straight faces, no respect for other people's solitude etc etc) not by Hospitality industry, who've obviously been conditioned, and trained to interact with humans, but when you get out into the reality, the culture still has it ingrained.
The menus drive me crazy, everywhere you go - Pizza, barbecue meat, soup. When in Juta or Mestia, Kazbegi, Gudauri etc almost every menu is a photocopy of other restaurants. Same for tours, same places, same stops same times.
Don't get me wrong, country and culture are terrific, but the current human society let's it down , but nobody calls it out

@@marekdackus7950 Thank you Marek! Another thing that everyone should consider before moving to Georgia is the proximity to Russia and a current war in Ukraine . The political situation there is never stable, so a long term investment wouldn’t be a wise decision.

Georgia is a really great place to visit, excluding a very high heat and times when the people are tryna charge more money from you than the original price; Since they know you have a lot of money because you're from the USA and it's obvious that you have a good amount of US Dollars that has a value of 2.90 GEL and it's A LOT.
You can legit live off 50 USD in Georgia lol.
I'm Georgian and also a half Canadian, spent 14 years and 6 months in Georgia and it's very hard for the people that earns Georgian currency from their works to live here; Since everything's overpriced.
I suggest ya visiting Qobuleti. It's one of the closest Cities to Black Sea in Georgia and the city is pretty chill for now because of Corona.
I live in the Capital of Georgia called T'bilisi, the place's actually MID.
Georgia is one of the CHEAPEST places for people from the USA to live at because of the value of the US Dollar.
Also, yall have to taste a food called Shawarma, it's so delicious you wont stop eating it unless you're Vegan, but Georgia also has Vegan Shawarma.
Don't forget to buy Cola or Fanta tropic along with Shawarma ;>

@@GringoNation That's good to know, thanks for visiting.
Yall are always welcome to visit Georgia whenever ya want, would have a good conversation with ya,
Wish I could make friends with people from the USA IRL since not a lot of Americans visit Georgia especially T'bilisi.
Have a nice day and yeah, shawarma is the best food I've ever eaten in my life.

@Лика Sorry, I'm not really the best at Russian but I think you said I'm weird for not having eaten anything better than Shawarma.
Well, everything here is the same as in the USA except for Burritos and Tacos lol.
I can Say Shawarma and Xachapuri are the 2 main food I like.
I really Hate Lobiani, the one with beans in a dough because most of the people doesn't remove the pebbles from the beans correctly and it's making me wanna vomit everytime I get a stiff pebble inside of my mouth and it's very disgusting.
So yeah, I really kind of am a weird Georgian but I really like Shawarma even tho it was firstly invented in Turkey pretty sure and is very popular here that people even think Georgians invented it lol.

@@imasnaponce0636 plz give an honest idea of Georgia are they similar to Turkish ppl somehow the GDP of georgis is low asf but the dollar rate is not that bad even tho turkey has better GDP
Is it actually safe for women there
      Are they racist and friendly??
What is the uni environment like especially ilia state and can we travel from turkey to georgis by train without visa

      We're friendly here.
Every person is welcomed here and Georgian people always believe every person that visits Georgia is sent by a god, because this is a very little country for other people to actually know about.
So we're always happy seeing other people visiting Georgia since we're starting to believe our country ain't that forgotten no more and is growing daily.
Otherwise, Universities are kind of decent here, I can't give ya an exact answer since I'm don't go to University yet because I'm obviously not old enough to be going at Uni.
Dollar rate is very good here, sometimes it goes a bit lower or higher.
it's probably currently at around 2.92 GEL.
I'm also not sure about going to Georgia without needing Visa.
But as I've heard, Turkish citizens don't need Visa to travel to Georgia and can stay up to 90 days without needing Visa.
Hope this helped, if you have any other questions HMU.
