I’ve been doing this for a long time. My Mom was blind & or family Bible laid on the coffee table but us kids weren’t allowed to bother it. It was too sacred fo little hands. I was youngest of 10. All of my siblings are gone on hopefully to be with the Lord. But Mom was afraid we would Tate the Bible or date we mark in it. About mid 20’s before I began reading it twice, marking as I go. I’m 70 now. Taught by Sunday School teachers. I mark for my friends & grandson’s & children. Hoping it will make them read it more often. My Mom didn’t have anything growing up but she made sure we were in church when church doors opened. We recently went on a cruise & I took a new Bible I’d started marking for 2nd grandson. A 10 day cruise I’d done really well. I said to myself I’m going to be able to give this to My Caleb when I get home. That was day 8. And the Lord spoke to me & said you may be giving that Bible away. I just stuffed it off thinking NO that’s My Caleb’s Bible. I stared at the water, & my daughter came in to join me for lunch. Our server from dinner came up to talk to us as they often do. Telling us his wife is having their 3rd child & it’s a boy, as they have 2 girls already. Then strangely he said are y’all Christians? I said yes. He said I knew it. He thought my husband was wearing a cross necklace, but it was a Navy Anchor. So I said my husband is a Pastor. I knew it he said, excitedly. Then he said I have a Bible & I read it all the time. Then with pointer fingers & thumbs he said, it’s this big. About 3X5. My heart almost stopped, Ah, We said. Ok God I hear You talking to me now. I don’t need a 3rd conformation. But You know this is My Caleb’s Bible. So the last night, it’s so busy, like everybody on the ship is eating in dining area. I say to myself ok God I’m ready for that 3rd conformation. Lol Miss Lord Your People don’t listen to You. If he has time to come & talk to us, I’ll give it to him. Here he comes, so I give him $20.00 for his new baby & he grins & takes it. And I say show Pastor Pop, they call my husband, how big your Bible is. So fingers together. And Pop says really, & I give him the Bible to hand to him. He grabbed that Bible & hugged it & jumped up & down & turned around. I almost cried. Even the couple that sat next to us were amazed, who’s parents were pastors. What a joy we’d have missed if I hadn’t given that young man that Bible. We don’t realize how quickly we can run our & get one. But some folks can’t do that or live in a Country that won’t let them have one. I love marking my Bibles & giving them away. Thank you for influencing me to become closer to God! I grew up christian, going to church, did the whole youth group and youth mission trips. But I was never dedicated and found a real love and appreciation for our Lord. I was in a relationship and he was against religion and would put me down for my beliefs and I suppressed them. I started to notice I was stressed and anxious all of the time and couldn't quite figure out why. I found you and your sisters channel, along with a couple of other Christian influencers and was so inspired. I am now entering week 3 of taking the time out of everyday to have a quiet time, read the Bible, and pray. I have been going to church consistently for about 2 months now and have found a church that I really enjoy! Thank you girls for being a inspiration for me and so many other girls (:

Yes I am the same way. Sometimes I listen to the Bible or sermons. Also, I do praise and worship and prayer before reading that allows me to read way better and more.
Shirley! I listen to scripture memory songs and they have really helped me. My mother played them when I was a little girl and those songs came back to me even when I ran away from faith. The word can sing you right back. Look up scripture memory songs on youtube and one of my favorite singers that I found recently is Esther Mui. She sings entire Psalms and Psalm 91 is one of my favorites. Praying that God's word sticks in your heart and mind and on your mouth. Love you!
Beloved if you read the ESV or any version other the the KJV or NKJV make sure you have the KJV or NKJV with you because the took out alot of words in the ESV and the NIV okay becareful
I prefer the CSB. I've read many places that it's closest interpretation of God's word to English. Just what I've read on non Bible selling places. I also know that the NIV has verses completely left out !
Kristy Thomas I love CSB also, but it also has verses missing like the NIV. They actually aren’t missing, they are put in the footnotes of the Bible’s. When the KJV was translated from the actual scripts found, there were only a few people, if I’m guessing correctly I believe they said about 50 scholars in the year 1611 who were able to translate the Bible to English, which now there are thousands of scholars and they were able to get together and translate the Bible into what it is now. No verse was removed, they were just added to the footnotes because they felt it wasn’t needed in the Bible, or it was misinterpreted by the scholars in the 1600s. They said they were left in the footnotes so you can go back and see what was removed from the verse. But can you imagine only having 50 people to translate the Bible in the 1600s? Language has changed a lot, and having more heads to translate is so much better. Even then the kjv wasn’t translated correctly because Hebrew and Greek is hard to translate to English, and also many words used when the Bible was written are no longer used, so it must’ve been a difficult task to translate. But as of now the CSB and ESV are the closest in wording to the Hebrew and Greek Bible

The challenge is going so good! I'm loving it. I listen to the #KJV on audio during nap time at work (I'm a daycare teacher).. then after work I review and highlight and dig deeper. #lovingit.. hope you do the New testament in the future too

I just want to thank you for starting this challenge. It's helping me so much and I know the more I read the closer I'll get to God. I highlight when I see God and who He is and then I write the verse in KJV and explain. (I'm reading in NIV). Again thank you guys and please pray for me to never stop and keep going💘

I have never ONCE felt the impulse to deface the bible with my marks. When I wish to dive deeper, I write an essay in a separate book and quote passages in my own hand. All of this coloring and highlighting is distracting you. Is God's word so poor that you must adorn it with pictures and scribbles? When you look at the word you should see the colors and adornments of God and should shiver at the thought of putting anything of your own beside the word, for this is like adding your own strokes to the completed work of a master of all masters. The fact that many of your videos are about defacing the bible shocks me. The fact that you are teaching others to do this angers me. For as many videos you have made about defacing the bible, please spend that many nights reflecting on this topic, and make the length of each reflection the length of each video.
I use : Pink for lessons and/or comforting messages Green for words i dont understand Blue for things i need to do in my life Yellow for verses that stand out ♡
I’ve never had a Bible of my own or really had an opportunity to read or look into a Bible. I’ve always wanted to, but it’s been pushed to the side. I now am pushing to get a Bible create and make time to study the Bible. I wish I would’ve done this earlier. I need God.

The challenge is going so good! I'm loving it. I listen to the #KJV on audio during nap time at work (I'm a daycare teacher).. then after work I review and highlight and dig deeper. #lovingit.. hope you do the New testament in the future too

I just want to thank you for starting this challenge. It's helping me so much and I know the more I read the closer I'll get to God. I highlight when I see God and who He is and then I write the verse in KJV and explain. (I'm reading in NIV). Again thank you guys and please pray for me to never stop and keep going💘

The #cbtreadingchallenge is slow goings for me. I saw in your most recent video that you’re in Jeremiah. I’m still on 2 Kings, and I haven’t really been motivated to read the word lately. Plz pray for me😞
I have never ONCE felt the impulse to deface the bible with my marks. When I wish to dive deeper, I write an essay in a separate book and quote passages in my own hand. All of this coloring and highlighting is distracting you. Is God's word so poor that you must adorn it with pictures and scribbles? When you look at the word you should see the colors and adornments of God and should shiver at the thought of putting anything of your own beside the word, for this is like adding your own strokes to the completed work of a master of all masters. The fact that many of your videos are about defacing the bible shocks me. The fact that you are teaching others to do this angers me. For as many videos you have made about defacing the bible, please spend that many nights reflecting on this topic, and make the length of each reflection the length of each video.

I’ve never had a Bible of my own or really had an opportunity to read or look into a Bible. I’ve always wanted to, but it’s been pushed to the side. I now am pushing to get a Bible create and make time to study the Bible. I wish I would’ve done this earlier. I need God.

The #1 thing I've learned with your videos is that I can write on my bible and really use it, that I can make it mine and use it to learn, before watching you I literally was afraid to damage it and fill it with my notes and colors. Lol
