That whole thing seems to be a TH-cam joke. I went into my local music store a couple years ago to get some strings, and asked the owner of the store about it. It is a mom and pop business. He said he had no problem with it. He handed me an Ibanez acoustic 6 string and I played it for maybe 10 minutes. The world didn't end.

Hope to find more of your lessons and such.

It's hard to beat a Guild 12-string! I've got 2 of them, an F512 made in 1979, and a D-20-12 made in 1980. And a Maton made in 1971 that sounds like God playing the guitar! Nice work, nice playing, some good choices of songs, and at least the guitar is in tune - unlike some of the others who have posted on here!! And that comes from a guy who's been playing 12-strings for 55 years.
@@jonmaclennan If you want to see how a REALLY beaten up one sounds, look on here for John Butler playing a piece called "Ocean" in his studio at home. It will blow your mind, and he really gives it hell!! My Maton is in perfect condition, and I've had it since 1974, mind you there's a hell of a story behind it as well. It was stolen by members of a motorcycle gang who burgled my home in 1980, and I got it back after it was found on a beach here in New Zealand after two and a half years. It was fucked, to say the least. It was repaired but I was never happy with it, and finally I got a local luthier, Davy Stuart, to fix it all up - it took him over two years, waiting for exactly the right piece of spruce for the top!! Look him up at stuart.co.nz - he's amazing to say the least and he exports his instruments all over the world!! Ever since he fixed it it sounds like God playing the guitar, and I've even had Tommy Emmanuel say it's the best sounding 12-string he's ever heard!!
I just picked up a Guild F112 made in Hoboken, NJ in 1968. Right before they moved factories to Westerly, Rhode Island. Great collection you have. Haha you're right keeping the 12 strings in tune is half the battle,.
Other than the blues, there only 2 or 3 than you can play the entire song with the 12 string. Unless you have a double neck or studio...you're stuck playing the intro or a verse over and over...what are some songs that are played entirely or at least throughout on a 12 string?
Great playing and sounding guitar. Ive got a question tho, why is it that many of these 12 string guitar lists include over the hills and far away when it was played on a Martin D28 6 string guitar for the intro but everyone plays the intro with a 12 string. As i understand Page did use a bit of the 12 string sprinkled on the song to add some nuances but for the most part it was played on a 6 string. Imagine playing the intro to stairway to heaven on a 12 string because Page used a 12 string later on in the song. I mean it does sound nice but i just don’t get it.
Nice. I wish you had played the full intro to Stairway to Heaven. You left out the most famous one of all. Mr. Tambourine Man by Roger McGuinn/The Byrds.
