    I just order the same exact bulb and it comes as 9012/HIR2 socket. Unfortunately it has almost 1 mm too thick base/mounting and impossible to get it click/installed properly. So I returned it.

    Is everything still working fine and doesn't the driver shake too much in the headlight? Do you still prefer these lamps over the halogen bulbs?

  • @RaduLazau
    @RaduLazau 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Great video, was expecting it actually after the rant about poor headlamps. How about the side steep cut-off? I find it the most annoying issue with these headlamps, cornering on dark roads makes me feel like driving blindfolded...
    And another important question: cooling of the LEDs is not affected by the caps? Do the fans still do their job? Or did you just take the duct tape off the previously drilled holes in the caps?

    • @typhoontim125
      @typhoontim125 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question. Those fans can hardly work properly with a closed cap behind them

    I have 2017 Auris 1.4 d4d and my mom has 2018 CHR full option and she has those laser xenon lights and they are really sharp and almost looks like Transformers or An UFO in night. I said I wanted that too but these white beams are not like them ? After seeing this video I decided to stay with original
    Thank you for your video and you time though

    MOT will fail LED too even with autoleveling sensor installed. It has to be OEM headlight but just don't install it when you do MOT. I think it will not blind anyone with projector style.

    • @Endfloat
      @Endfloat  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That may be the case in the UK, but in Ireland, LED lights are permitted as an aftermarket fitment.

    • @rondhole
      @rondhole ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Endfloat but what happens if you drive to UK or crossing other countries in Europe mainland? There are very few LED is legal in Germany and Austria from osram and Philips

      @@rondhole In reality nothing because unless they are actually dazzling people nobody is going to suspect anything. It doesn't look out of place for a modern car with projector housings to have LED or Xenon lights.

    • @rondhole
      @rondhole ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gravemind6536 I agree, but this LED the @Endfloat with 9012 socket is really bad. It does not fit the housing right without bending anything and it is much less bright than V35 or V45 Bevinseee with 3 y warranty

  • @gravemind6536
    @gravemind6536 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Issue with the Toyota Auris is that projectors always aim too low.

  • @michele8039

    I fitted a very similar looking kit to a Yaris which has the same style headlights. The low beam is VASTLY improved but the high beam is eh. Still much better than the halogens but not as much of an improvement.
    Why couldn't Toyota just have fitted separate high beam reflectors to these cars I will never know...

    • @Endfloat
      @Endfloat  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I find that to be the case with the kit I fitted too. I contemplated fitting spotlights!

    You won't damage the bulb if fitted the wrong way around ,it just won't light.

    Good video. Fellow Dubliner here...a friend just bought a 2023 Corolla and he is disappointed with the poor brightness from the standard HIR2 Philips Bulbs that came with the car. I see that Toyota Ireland advertise a "Toyota Optiwhite" upgrade that they say is 60% brighter. Would you know anything about them...or similar type bulbs claiming to emit more light? Thank you.

    • @Endfloat

    I dont think you should pit the cap on at the end as the fans would not be able to get cold air to the led heat exchanger
