TH-cam has jumped me from the Biggara episode to this final one. Tailem Bend was a major loco depot in the steam era. One lot of locos for the hard haul through the Lofties; others for the race to Victoria or pottering into the Mallee. It is also where Murray water is piped to serve the Tatiara. That lighthouse at Narrung is the only inland one in Australia. It has been restored, but is lit only for ceremonial events. It was good to see the instructional side of your safety preparation. I watched the Pink & Blue tinnie fleet arrive from Bringenbrong one year (actually the final third: that fleet splits the Murray into three parts, one third each year). Those boats had a coastguard escort to cover the safety. I did it with a fleet, ~5.00 ex Wellington for first light at the end of the channel markers. Chop like yours, but my lean-aspect boat glided through all. We have to stick mid lake: coastline is too shallow. We came up the main channel via Clayton. I've been through Tauwitchere on a club rally, with committee members operating the winches. I've also crossed the lake on PS Marion. It can cross without passengers in most conditions. To convey passengers, it has capacity restrictions, must carry full solas equipment, and is allowed to depart only if the predicted wind strength is below a set threshold. As with so many of the voyages which are serialised on youtube: it is a deeply emotional moment running onto the sand at the mouth. I did it over lots of holidays, not one grand voyage. In one year I had been at Hume Dam from below; my deckie filled a bottle with water there. Only weeks later, I was at the mouth, and emptied the bottle. Now to watch yours in full, in sequence, and to complete several other sets, also in full and in sequence.
Fantastic Video and series! you are an absolute legend mate. This series has been a lot of help and some great inspiration for the planning of my Summit to sea trip planned for the second half of 2025
Good job man, that was a real paddle. I would love to hear a month or two later what its like to return to the drudgery of normal life after all of that freedom?
Congratulations on completing the journey. I am going to miss following along on this incredible adventure. Thank you for sharing it all with us - the beautiful images and all of the information about this remarkable journey along the 'Mighty Murray'. Very very well done.
Congratulations Andrew. I have really enjoyed you journey. Thanks for taking us along. I shall see you around a ballooning event somewhere. Great stuff.
Well done mate! Well done completing the journey. Well done editing a beautiful series of videos that captured the essence of your trip. Well done for being one of the few that have done this during snd despite a pandemic putting many road blocks in the way. Well done 🍻. Hopefully we can share another beer on another river journey in the future.
Absolutely awesome, Andrew! I feel blessed to have been able to follow you along on your adventure through your blogs and videos. What an accomplishment!
Simply epic! Congratulations on the amazing achievement. Its been thoroughly enjoyable watching you start from the top of Australia to finally arrive at the Mouth. The quality video editing and narrative of the journey has been a pleasure to watch. Thankyou for sharing this incredible journey.
Amazing. I just wanted to be reminded of what the river was like - I miss it! - so I watched your Mildura-Renmark video. But I couldn't help but watch to this point, and I got emotional at that dancing seal, so excited to see you. Congratulations on that epic journey. And thank you for generously sharing so much of the journey with us!
Congratulations on completing your epic journey. Its was joy to escape to another world while watching the earlier content during lockdown. Great to see the final completion. Good job on the video production quality too. Many beautiful shots. Cheers mate.
Thank you for the time and effort you have put in to produce such an interesting and scenic series. Because of your and Amy Outdoors inspiring vlogs I and 3 other geriatric paddlers spent a very enjoyable three days paddling sections between Brigenbrong and the Hume earlier this year and we have plans to return and fill in the missing sections. What's next for you I wonder, perhaps you could resurrect your white water skills and do the Snowy from source to sea :) Thanks again.
Well done mate - just inspirational. Fantastic footage too - most wouldn’t know just how much work goes into producing content like this but you have nailed it. You should be proud of it. Well done.
Been meaning to ask - did you use your water filter during the trip? I’m planning something similar and wonder about water quality and in particular agricultural chemicals and industrial waste that filters may not be effective on…
Great leg! Great series! So impressed you got that drone footage in the middle of Lake A! You certainly wouldn't want it windier hey. It was a following sea for our tinnie crossing at the end of our earlier this year.. Thank you!
Brilliant job - well done and congrats Andrew. It's been enthralling to travel along your journey through your fantastic high quality videos and blog. I can only imagine the work that goes into producing all that content- but you've got a real skill at bringing us along with you. Congratulations. You've inspired me to get into some long trips in the kayak - the Murray looks enticing thanks to you.
Congratulations Andrew, a fantastic achievement and an insight into a bucket list item for myself. Glad that you got there, but sad that that is the end of the journey, have thoroughly enjoyed this series of videos. Top job! Hope to see more of your adventures soon.
Well done Andrew what a epic adventure. We met you at Nurrang ferry campground and completed our road trip of the mighty Murray River today also. I have been watching your videos and envy you adventurous spirit. Cheers.
Great effort Andrew, thoroughly enjoyed watching the whole journey from start to finish, great video work and commentary , and I think that seal at the end was celebrating with you , hope to see you out on the water one day for a chat, and wish you all the best for your future travels .
Congratulations!! I so enjoyed your journey! And it has inspired me to get out on the river ! I had to laugh to when you fast forwarded to the pub 😂 And you didn’t miss anything in Tailembend ! 😂 Safe travels home 🤠❤️
Top work, fantastic video of the entire journey which would have been an epic undertaking in itself, let alone paddling great distances every day. That hand operated lock at the end is an effort in itself. Pity you didn't have smellavision as it can get on the nose in the lock at times. Very envious of your effort and planning. Cheers.
Good work mate, what an awesome achievement 👏 Thank you so much for sharing the journey with us, I have loved watching everything you have put together. Bit sad about it all coming to an end but really happy for you to have finally gotten to the end. Loved that celebration dance from the seal also! Fantastic work mate, definitely earned a cold beer lol. Looking forward to any future adventures you might undertake. Thanks again and well done mate 👍
Thank you Andrew for a very enjoyable series. I wish you well into the future and hope you might find another challenge elsewhere. Maybe you should consider kayaking the Amazon river in the future lol.(tongue in cheek).....cheers
Great job mate, I was hoping to see you on the water but I missed you at Wellington by about 6 hours. Whats next? The Mississippi would be great to see

Fantastic achievement Andrew. Loved the videos. Thank you for putting in the effort to share your journey.
That first glimpse of the lake coming out of Wellington. Sends a bit of chill down ones spine . I resolved to never enter that water ever again.

I’d love to hear you reflect on this and do a retrospective on gear and things the planning didn’t teach you
