Lovely first video Andrew, well done. Those foggy mornings were the reason I generally slept in and didn't start paddling until 10am for the first couple of weeks, but it makes for some spekky footage. Love that you catch tour drone on the fly, I've never been game enough to give that a go.
This is the first video which I have seen upstream of Bringenbrong. I have read of whitewater rafters starting at Tom Groggin (seasonal and good years only), but most kayaks and tinnies start at Bringenbrong. I have photographed every bridge over the Murray, Tom Groggin - Goolwa, but my boating started at the top end of Lake Hume when I couldn't find a channel into the main river, aiming for Jingellic.
Awesome. You look like you're enjoying yourself. Some luck there crossing Lake Hume. Just love the drone footage of the dead trees and the misty water. Your very own River Styx :-) Keep growing the beard.
Great adventure, thanks for sharing. Your audio narration is nice and clear ... what mic and camera are you using? Also, love the 3D map animation at the end, curious what software / website you use? We do a lot of kayaking and camping in the Pacific Northwest mostly around Washington State in case you'd like to check out some of our adventures.
Hi. Filming was done with Canon G7ii, GoPro 8 and DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone. Animation is done using GeoLayers 2 plugin in Adobe After Effects. Video Editing is done using Adobe Premiere.
@@PresenceVideography if you go into satellite view on google maps and hold down the ctrl button and left mouse button at the same time it will do the same 3D view thing
Enjoying these updates as you go along. If you get time to answer questions I am keen to know how you're transporting your drone for quick access on the water. I am guessing in the front deck bag. The other question I have - being from warm and sunny QLD, why the hell did you choose winter for this? lol
Haha, I get asked that a lot too! For me it's the things that are missing in winter... there are no: - mozzies / snakes / flies - wake boats / jetskis - families holidaying in the bush taking all the best campsites ... and the river in winter is beautiful, as Andrew and I will show 😉... crisp mornings with fog on the water burning off to clear sunny days... for the most part... once you're out of the Snowys and into the arid areas.
@@AmyOutdoors I get that part of it. I enjoy camping in the winter here too, mainly for no flies. Or even in northern NSW. But Victoria? In a kayak? I’ve never been to Vic in winter, so maybe it’s not as bad as I think lol.
@@Beyondthebackyard-au haha, yep, it's cold, but that's not as bad as being out in full sun on 40°C... each to their own though - some folks like it hot 😉
I stayed in the Australia Park Motel. I had planned to leave it in their pool area (it was winter so not used), but I ended up with a ground floor accessibility room. So I ended up just wheeling it into the room. 🙂
Go to rivermurraycharts.com.au/ the River Murray Charts book is great for between Yarrawonga and Renmark. I created my own maps (printed google maps) for above Yarrawonga. I used Google Maps on my phone below Renmark. I did buy the Murray River Pilot book but I found the scale was useless (it changes on every page), so just stuck to google maps.

What an epic journey!

What did you do with your kayak while staying at the hotel? Thanks great content

Great footage. Do you have any idea of what the river level at Brigenbrong bridge was when you did this section?
