I think they totally missed the market. This seems like a high quality product but it looks cheap and has no unique selling proposition beyond helping the environment. I don't see why anyone would buy this. I understand why the MoonSwatch will sell but this misses the mark. I predict this will be available at a discount in 6 months.
Great video. I'm currently looking for a quartz, sporty watch that I can use in the gym and for outdoor activities. I've currently got a tudor prince date day that covers all other bases. I really like the story behind the Aikon Tide so this is definitely a contender.
The MoonSwatch is made out of Bioceramic which they have used for almost exactly one year. I have one of the normal ones and it does not bleed or anything like that. The quality is truly great, much better compared to the standard ABS plastic ones. Anyways, I think the ML is also a great idea but they have placed it too high in the market. At 690€ give or take, they compete with Quartz Longines or Tag Heuer and I think more people are torn towards Tag Heuer compared to ML. At a discounted price at around 500€ sure, I can see that down the line. Let's see what will happen.
@@TillSwims I did not say that ;). However, if you are in the range of around 700€, some people might say: "Well, 150€ more and I can get a Tag Heuer Formula 1." Nowadays, it is probably no longer the case but last year this was totally possible.
@@eustab.anas-mann9510 Well, they are not really crap. A bit overpriced, sure, but far from crap. The cases feel great and the bracelets are also far from crap. Tag Heuer has a well known brand name unlike most "Microbrands" (whatever your definition of the term may be). And this is something that counts as well if you gift a watch. A normal 3-hand Tag Heuer Formula 1 is for most people more watch than needed. And it is very easy to maintain and repair if needed. Most important thing is to have something you like.
Very good video - dispelled my last doubts about the quality of the watch. I bought a green one (at a VERY good price) and am delighted. No comparison to a Swatch (which I also like).
Enjoyed the video. Have since bought the same blue Tide watch for myself, and also the baby blue on white for my wife. Very good quality, fun looking watches with a nice story in the recycled element of the materials used. Nice additions to my collection. Thanks for the review, it helped seal the deal for me (20% discount from the retailer here also helped!) Cheers, Rich
I like reviews with the watch in hand the most but hearing peoples opinion on watches they don't personally own is still interesting and you seem like a knowledgeable guy with a lot of nice watches so I would personally watch them I think others would also. Also this is a cool watch brand I never heard of pretty cool looking watches.
Totally agree with you👍 Plus you get sapphire cystal 100m water resist and 5 years warranty. But most of all 20% of the purchase goes to #Tide foundation. All for good course
Great video pal! 👏👏Just ordered mine should be coming tomorrow I managed to get the all black model with just over 20% discount off it aswell. I just don't get it how some ppl are comparing this particular watch with the Smoon watches?! I mean these ML watches are in another league completey! Firstly they have a Sapphire Crystal lens with anti-reflective coating. A screwdown crown. 100m water resistant. Date function and a full 5-year warranty too. (Oh and you can actually buy one of these watches online aswell and at retail or less price free of Scalpers!)
You don’t know what your talking about mate, you can pick these up for about 500 euros new , stick the moon swatch where the sun don’t shine they are compete dog shit! Maurice make quality timepieces
yeah...i appreciate the engagement to collect plastic bottles to save planet...but....this price is overrated.......better than Swatch Omega, yes....but not more than 200 Dollar....we will seen the price in 1 year...be good
@@TalkingTimepieces i dont want to be disrespectful, but to demand 650 dollars just because of the sapphire crystal is just greedy. Yes, maybe the 36 dollar version does not have sapphire crystal, but for the price i dont care. Best Regards
I thought $260 for the plastic Omega was bad but $750 for a plastic maurice lacroix is a straight highway robbery.

I love these watches, great watch to pick up and go, especially to the beach or something. Way out of my price range but I can dream

Cheap Tag Heuers are crap anyway. But you can get great quality microband watches for €700. Mechanical/sapphire/multiple complications etc. etc.

I have a moonswatch rep i paid $16 for and it has a better movement than the original. Not as nice as my legit seamaster but it'll do
Great review. It’s a nice looking watch. Would you be so kind to share the strap length? Buckle and tail sides?
it's about 24 centimeters long buckle to strap tip

Tissot seastar 1000 powermatic 80 full black and silicon or Maurice Lacroix Tide full black? Which one would you buy? (Same price)
The Seastar, no question

No real comparison, the tide has a sapphire crystal, for example. Also the plastic composite is based on recycled ocean plastic, not recycled cool.
Funky piece, I’ll grab one for the summer!
Well Presented 👍⌚
Nice piece! Are there luminous indices and hands?
Yes, I need to do a lume short!
Great review! Keep doing them! 👍
Does anyone know what is the Quartz movement powering this model?
It's a base Ronda
Good review. Also just want to point out you said the word “plastic” so much I’m pretty sure it drove the point home
My bad!
Good review but I would have liked a lume check
Ouch, I forgot! I'll post a still and a short, then tag you!
What size is your wrist?
About 8.5 inches
Have a yellow brand new in box for sale 😊
700€ for a plastic quartz🤣Moonswatch is a bargain compared to it lol

I like it - would pay maybe 200 or 300 euros for it, 690 is a bit too much
Just about
Got one for sale for £ 240 if interested. UK based
I want this watch bad but 750 usd is too much for a plastic watch with a quartz movt
Yeah, I agree. Buy still cheaper than the quartz plastic TAG Heuer! 😅😂😂
That watch looks like a 40 euro watch both inside and out, the quality is not up there with the price, but I still like the look.
Is the rubber strap a soft fkm material?
Soft and supple, I suggest you check it out at a shop.
nice
260 moonswatch seem a bargain yo me now.
Agreed.

I think it will bounce around 350~500
It's simply overpriced. But hey, if someone willing to pay for it why not
Its not Mary Lacroix 😊
I know, a slip of the tongue
A quartz plastic watch for that money ? If half of the profit donate to environment groups, I might consider.
The environnental groups selling the reclaimed plastic make a profit, I believe.
On Aliexpress 36 dollars with the same specs. 😂 650 dollars?! Most expensive plastic i ever heard. Come on are they crazy!?
It is definitely overpriced, but that 36-dollar watch probably doesn't have a sapphire crystal...

@@Suki_Gaming you are absolutely right, I already agreed it is overpriced. It should be $250 IMO, like a MoonSwatch
