Exactly , and they are a legitimate watch brand it’s not like they are a no name brand. I think it’s a great watch, they could have easily charged 3k instead of going under 2. With the quick change straps would look great in leather or rubber as well
@@WatchUnwind agree with you and the OPs comments. A flattering watch that's clearly inspired by the AP RO but still manages to have its own personality. With regards to the rubber straps, do Maurice Lacroix sell them separately? I know buying the 39mm doesn't necessarily come with additional straps.
@@lunzje I’m not sure. I wish all of these RO style watches would come with easy interchangeable strap options. This watch in 39mm is best in my opinion because it draws a lot of attention being quite flashy. I've seen 42mm and its much more bulky and then with the flashiness it goes a bit in overkill and loses some of its charm. The 39mm gives you this stylish beauty on your wrist which definitely takes people attention but without forcing it and that gives everything more class in my opinion.
Evet haklısınız 39 mm duruşu 42 mm e göre daha tok ve zarif duruyor 42 mm çap büyüdükçe o tok ve zarif duruşunu kaybediyor sanki bu dediğim aikon modellerde geçerli tabi
I totally get your point, while at the same time I must ask: Since 39mm doesn't work well for people with big hands, the creator said it in the video. It's for small to medium hands. So I believe that 42mm would be a better choice for a guy with big hands, maybe it would look okay because of it's hand size. What do you think?
When I first started getting into watches,I thought this watch and the Rolex Explorer were the ugliest watches on the planet and now after a few years into watches, they are my favorites. It's weird how acquired taste works in watches just like in food.
Ive bought the 42mm with Green Dial . I love this watch , i wear it daily for work and going out . Still looks new and is very hard wearing watch . I would not hesitate to buy this watch again .
Great video Teddy and thank you for reviewing this 39MM version of the Aikon. I see nothing wrong with the design, so many watches have been inspired by models before. This serves a real need of a sporty dress watch competing with micro brands like Monta, but also with established brands like Longines, Tudor, Omega. I live in Manhattan and have never seen one in person, but as an everyday day work watch I see it as a great value plus it has that screw down crown and 100 MM water resistance.
Ive had a ML Miros Coussin (Peseux hand wind model) for 15 years. Every watch person and even a watch repairer has been impressed by it. You don't see them in the US a lot so it's really unique in that way.
Bruh, this looks better than the Royal Oak. Furthermore, it has its own unique, idiosyncratic design and character. If anything, you can say it's inspired from the Genta designs in DNA, but it does not look like the Royal Oak at all, sans the bracelet as a design basis.
Considering that the GP Laureato and the Chopard Alpine Eagle were also inspired by the Royal Oak, but cost £12000, this is quite a good deal. The finishing on the Tissot PRX is just ok for the £600 it costs, the Rolex Oysterquartz it’s slightly unaffordable and well the CasiOak mods are really straight copies for which you might get attacked in the dark alleyway 😂
Cool watch at a reasonable price. Yes, they should have supplied the blue dial with a matching blue date wheel as the white stands out a bit too much. But it’s a fun homage piece at a non too ridiculous price.
I say get the aikon grey market for 1400 or less and then get the prx in quartz for 350. It's less than retail of the aikon and you have two to alternate between. The aikon is by far the better watch though. Both punch way above their weight, the aikon I'd say is comparable to a 3-5k dollar watch in terms of finish while the Tissot is more like a 1 thousand dollar watch. Both are great options but I'd say the prx is more of an homage than the aikon, to the oysterquartz that is.
Hi Teddy! How would you compare the Aikon vs the Bell&Ross BR05 in terms of quality, finishing, and versatility? Is there a rubber strap option for the Aikon?
Beautiful watch, but what is it like interms of sell on? So if i decided to buy one, wear it for a couple of years and then go to sell it, would i even be able to sell it? If so what would i be losing on it
I'd say at least -20%. This is not a brand of stable value or even gaining value, just look at common price offs on the models and you will get a feeling for it
Thinking of buying one. Other spec tho nut still... it's an extremely fun thing to feel and to look at. Been to my local shop and had a fit... it's nice! Great addition I'd say!
Teddy, I would like to ask, for this watch (and perhaps other similar ones), does Maurice Lacroix do the finishing of the Sellita movement themselves, or they order it finished and with the custom rotor from Sellita? From what I know, Sellita sells movements of different finishing grades and also make custom rotors for clients.

Great review Teddy. What is the diameter of the crystal on this 39 mm model? I have the Tissot PRX 40 mm automatic. It’s 1 mm larger than the Aikon but has a slightly shorter lug to lug. But for me, both the Aikon and PRX practically have the same lug to lug length. Knowing the diameter of the crystal on the Aikon will tell me all I need to know about how it should look on my wrist. Thank you
Somehow the dial works better on the 42 mm version for me. To me, in this version the dial looks too small and the bezel too thick. And for me 39 mm is too small anyway. I have a Samurai and a 41 mm Presage, I think an angular case at 40 mm would be the smallest I could go, a round 39 mm case Tissot PRC 200 looked too small. Anyway, nicely done review and great macro shots of the dial.
If you're looking for a diver cough up the money for a black bay 58 and you won't be disappointed you can find them anywhere between 1.5k to 4k depending on the colour on the grey market. It's an absolute monster for the money.

Maurice Lacroix is one of the most underrated watch brands. Currently, it probably offers the most horological bang per buck of any brand.
