The double dribble was missed, but I bet 98% of those calling for the double dribble only say so because they're Auburn fans and because the ref-announcer mentioned it. I'm sure the referees thought Auburn would foul immediately after Jerome crossed half court. Cry as you may. Also, the foul on Guy was clearly a foul. That one is hard to miss.
The double dribble happened before Kyle Guy reached half court and the ref was looking right at it defender was 5 feet in front of Kyle who fumbled the dribble of his left upper part of sneaker, ref looking right at it. replayed it several times. I'm from Los Angeles hate SEC but ref got payed-off

As a UVA fan Ill admit that was a double dribble but you know what else happened? Guy hit a clutch three to cut the lead to 1. Auburn missed a free throw, Auburn fouled Guy, and Guy hit all of his free throws. That’s why Auburn lost.

With .6 seconds left the Auburn player caught ball UVA defender hit his arm but that foul wasn't called, why?

It just dawned on me that Auburn's time in the 2019 tournament almost ended in the first round when they fouled on a three point shot against New Mexico State and got away with that one when the guy missed 2 out of 3. And then they did it again in the Final Four and it cost them mightily
Doesn't matter. TT is winning it all. This Virginia squad was lucky twice. Third time will be no charm.
TT has very good defense AND offense. But from looking at it Virginia doesn’t have that much effect on defense. I believe TT will win this!

Refs missed the travel call, but this was a well-played game. You know, Auburn kept competing with Virginia and they had a chance to win the game, but one thing they'll look back on, you never foul a jump-shooter. That's what cost them in the end.

This Virginia team's offensive and defensive awareness is very high almost everyone in the team has great IQ and makes good plays all the time..Thats why whenever u face them they will always find a way to get their team in the game. You just cant stop a team like this so easily. Same type of play type and mentality can be seen with GSW. Would be interesting how they play against the athletic TTU

Marshal Dillon probability wise it’s more likely for an 80%+ free throw shooter to hit 3 free throws in a row as 80% means you hit 8 out of every 10. Than it is for a 40% 3 point shooter to hit the game winning 3 as being a 40% 3 point shooter means you hit 4 out of every 10 shots plus to score the game winning 3 the defensive pressure will be higher, you’d probably be double teamed, and you’d have to shoot from deep.
So now explain to me how my comment makes no sense

Gotta hand it to Virginia. What happened to them last year didn't phase their basketball program in the least, and now are just one game away from winning the whole thing.
The missed FT down the stretch is really what hurt Auburn. Yeah I get the missed or non call and I get the refs calling or not calling the foul on the trey but the missed FT lost the game by 1pt...he hits it worse case is OT.
Exact reason Virginia was able to get it to overtime. The purdue player previously, missed a free throw that would have put them up by 4, but instead missed and gave Virginia a chance...which they capitalized on
Double dribble or not, they fouled on a 3 and missed a wide open layup at the end of the game. All teams had missed calls, at the end of the day UVA earned it. They play a full 40 which most teams cant do. They play to fast and make mistakes in the last 5 mins where as VA doesn't. I live in Charlottesville tho, i love this team! We havent had a good sports team in years, we needed this
We made mistakes in the last five minutes?we made a 10 point comeback and almost one. The reason we lost was because we couldn't execute on the three's and missing Okeke hurt.
And there was a foul call against Virginia on Bryce Brown. Virginia gets lucky. Got lucky against Purdue and Auburn
Every team that wins a national championship gets some kind of weird break that goes their way. It's the nature of the tournament.
@Curtis Rupp there was a travel if im not mistaken on Auburn that was missed leading to them scoring a 3 on a fast break...and a foul on Jerome...and imo Jerome was gonna recover the ball fine without having to pick it up if he wasn't held up by the arm

How do you NOT show the replay on the final play? I think CBS wants to try and cover this up and hope everybody forgets. Shameful display by the refs - missing an obvious double dribble and then calling a very questionable foul on the three point attempt. Somebody needs to apologize to the Auburn players and coaches and fans. They were robbed big time.

If there's one thing this year's tournament has taught me, it's that if you're the coach of a team up by one score with your opponent inbounding close to the basket with just a couple of seconds remaining you let them shoot the corner three. Do NOT have your players try to defend it. If anything, tell them to run away from the shooter because if they do something silly like try to compete and contest the shot, it's an automatic foul and you lose. Your odds are actually much better leaving the corner three wide open because the shooter will miss in that situation 99% of the time. There's just nowhere near enough room in that corner space for any defender to do anything but foul.
