One of my favorite elements of this game is being able to fight in a formation. My first (and only) band I have so far started out with 6 or so spearmen in the front, a heavy weapon guy on each flank, and the rest were a combination of ranged and polearms on the second line. It was extremely satisfying to let enemies come to me while I maintained a formation which allowed all my guys to capitalize off each others’s attacks in an organized formation. Not many games, if any (if there’s others like this please tell me lol) that play like this.
When you mentioned the morale system and the enemy self preservation stuff I thought of this newer rpg game called Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga, don’t know if you had heard of that one but that strikes a more fantasy and story driven version, pretty well JRPG
my favorite starts are either the barbarians (and then rushing south for shields/safety), or hedge knight and then hiring a bunch of indebted, so I can play the entire game with no wages (pouring all that money into gear upgrades instead). almost at 700 hours played on steam, and despite its difficulty I really recommend it; it's quite a game.
I had trouble getting merc gear for the longest time. Then I went barbarian raiders and their trait of destroyed loot was amazing. So many gg end game weapons on 0% that I would have never gotten in a standard company trait. Best one for beginners imo if you camp the arena and get luck you get bank.
Amazing game I have 450 hours in it atm, I do wish the developers released a samurai DLC. Because who doesn’t want one of you’re bros decked out like a samurai with a katana.
I might actually get this game when I have the chance. Although that might take a while since my next couple "Steam Sale Games" already planned out. Gotta finish the Legend of Heroes series before I start buying other games on sale again.^^
I love this game a lot too, however I feel a lot of the time using certain tactics just doesn't work well and missing a 95% hit chance happens so often it's noticeable and it shouldn't be that way. I feel the hit chance ruins a lot of the tactical potential in some occasions.
Bought the deluxe edition on switch for the equivalent of 40 bucks, I'm 25 hours in and I'm still getting my shit kicked in 😅, also I haven't found a way to ally a nouble house
It'll happen for the first 100 hours or more, but then it starts clicking. To ally with a noble house you need to get your reputation and fame up. Do contracts and destroy enemy camps to unlock noble contracts, then do those contracts to raise rep.

One thing that I rarely hear mentioned about Battle Brothers is how stellar the sound design is. All the weapon hits are super satisfying.
Very true. It isn't super animated but they make it count with the sound design and music.

Legends mod is great too. Adds a lot more depth once you get used to the base game.

There are some mods to improve the tool tips and give you better information. Like explain what the events do exactly

This game is amazing,there are some things that are stupid,but with time,you learn to deal with them or even run from them....scratchs..cof...cof
This game is pricey including all the DLCs, and the DLCs never goes on sale except the 10% if you buy all.
Tbf it's a lot of content. Definitely worth it imo
