Youre right on the money here with the endgame issue, coming from someone who has couple thousands of hours played After some point you begin to see just how fast you can reach that invincible status for the company. The skill ceiling to that is quite high and theres a lot to consider
This was one of the best reviews I've ever seen and Battle Brothers is in my top 5 of most fun games of all time. Thank you for your fair and comprehensive take on it.
Man I love Battle Brothers. Difficulty perception I think comes from how easy it is to fail in early game. Where you need to leave the hobo phase by day 10 to max 15 or otherwise your run is a slog that is hard to continue. It probably is also demotivating to people to fail early that's why they bounce off.
True, it's also the point, at which RNG is by far the biggest factor, since you don't have the resources to pick fights/prepare, so it can definitely feel deflating, if you fail multiple times in a row.
Hope their next game 'Menace' will be as challenging. By the way, if I recall correctly, in battle bros if you retreat from battle on first turn there won't be a morale penalty. Maybe it's just for Deserters origin.
Genuinely, Battle Brothers is probably the best money I've ever spent on Steam. I've gotten so many hours out of it. I use it's soundtrack for my tabletop games. It's balance is very tight and it's one of the few games I hardly ever mod, but it might be time to shake things up.
I feel the same way, it really is that good. Using the soundtrack for tabletops sounds awesome, few songs are so effective at communicating the stakes/mood of the situation.
Bought this game years ago but never gave it a proper chance. You've convinced me to give it another go. Love your videos!

I highly recommend Our Adventurer Guild as an easier/more laid back cross between Battle Brothers and Darkest Dungeon.

yeah, totally agree, a real gem to play and to watch
hey man, do you stream? would love to see you playing lol
I don't.
I experimented with it, but it made me feel like I had to rush instead of playing at my own pace, so I prefer editing footage down.
One of the best game I ever played. After I cleared compeltely a map with the peasants last year I think I will never go back to it.
