This movie is clearly a western version remake of "Gunga Din", the old Cary Grant black and white version based upon the Rudyard Kipling poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade. This is okay, but the original is much better.

I have loved this western from the first moment I saw it in the 60’s. Yes it’s a remake ‘nearly’ of Gunga Din but it’s still a fun and enjoyable romp. Sinatra is good but Dean steals the film.
Frank produced this film the only one he would ever commit funds to.
There’s a lot of action sequences and, in a buggy fight, Frank did most of his own stunts against the wishes of John Sturgess the Director. John couldn’t argue with his boss - Sinatra.!!…$$….
    Anyway thoroughly recommend.
    Thank you

Gunga Deen was an Indian villager who served in the British Army in the 1890's period. He was a "Water Carrier" fetching water for the troops who were in trenches and
elsewhere in action. during World War I in 1914-1918 he came into prominence for his acts of courage..."beyond the call of duty". A real life Character, simple village stock. His extraordinary display of loyalty, courage earned him great respect....and an English poem dedicated to him by Rudyard Kipling. A Soldier who inspired two nations and generations of admirers, i do know of the film "Gunga Din"...and this movie "Sargeants Three" with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Victor Maclaglen is a copy of the theme of the 1939 movie. Don't know who played "Gunga Din"... but here it is Sammy Davis Jr 1939
