    On your first cutting jig this would actually work great for cuts over 300 on gables sheeting etc , I have the largest dewalt chopsaw 12" blade I use it for everything it's a serious bit of kit...but limited on large cuts say 600mm,I can just flip it over but a single straight though cut I would much prefer, nice jobs.

      @@frankkobold Especially the mitre saw in the beginning is very dangerous, as it is way to unstable. The problem is this may work without problems for a 100 times, but if one time there is some nasty inner tension in the wood you might get kickback. The screws won't hold that. The saw might then get totally out of control and cut off your fingers or worse cut into your chest.
      This is an unnecessary high risk and it is only for a hobby. If this goes wrong, you might not only lose your hobby. You might become incapable to work. Is that really worth it, even if you cannot affort a real mitre saw? Especially since you can do the same cuts using the cirular saw as it is indented, it just takes a bit more time...

    • @kleinstewerkstatt
      @kleinstewerkstatt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Also the blade cover is a safety feature. Never render safety features inoperable! And again this is without real necessity, just lazyness. The idea with the guild rails is not bad per se, but the execution is simply not safe in a number of details.

    Your video is well put together and the music and assembly footage was hypnotic. But for anyone who's considering this - DON'T DO IT!
    I'm by no means an expert, but having hours of safety lessons drilled into me has taught me that disabling the blade guard or any other safety feature of a tool is asking for a life-changing accident. And the wood base of that homemade chop saw means that the saw (sans blade guard) is going to go flying at the first hint of kickback. (And that hinge may not be enough to keep it secure either if you bolt it down.)
    If you can't drop coin on an inexpensive (but safer) chop saw right now, there's nothing wrong with using the saw against a speed square to accomplish the same thing. And the blade will be away from you, guard in place.
    The other two projects are good ideas but, again, can be accomplished without removing saw safety features.

    I’m loving this video of all these different rigs! The second rig that was made needed a piece of metal sticking up to hold the saw from going past the rig itself, and cutting into the wood… Just a piece of metal to hold the flat part of the Skil within its limitations will suffice!

    Clever, I like the enginuity. I bet it all works well for thin smallish lumber. The slide with the skill saw is a bit sketchy in that there is little security in the blades path in terms of upward jumps outside of the hands downward force. But otherwise I'm sure much of this set up works quite well.

    • @Wastelandman7000
      @Wastelandman7000 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'd leave the blade guard in place, and clamp the work down, then use the saw with both hands. Problem solved. You could also make a second set of rails to hold the saw in the guides. And if you make them from steel its wildly unlikely that saw is going anywhere.

    VERY EASY but IMPORTANT TIPS 👇
    DIY dust collectors without vacuum cleaner :
    Step 1. Make a hole in the dust-guard of circular saw , in that area from where the dust comes out while cutting
    Step.2 Then take a plastic jar of medium size, and do many tiny holes in its bottom using needle or pin.
    Step.3. Then attach this bottle to the dust guard ...using pvc pope's hose, so that the bottle can dettach easily , when required .
    It will collect all the dust which comes out from dust guard hole,
    There are many such Tips & Hacks
    Hope it will be very helpful for you and all of us..
