Thank you! Its definitely worth asking, and seek out local native nurseries and plant sales. I have most of the upcoming native plant sales listed on my FB page, The Thoughtful Gardener.
A very thoughtful way to address this issue, Heather. I cut back some of my later blooming native plants in May to keep them stocky and more branched - tall phlox is a great example that takes that treatment well. I'm adding Phlox 'Jeana' to my garden this year so it's good to see how well it does for you! I do depend on the Mt. Cuba research findings to make plant choices and have found it to be very helpful.
Something I've wondered about. Thanks. I found it interesting that some nativar support pollinators, others don't. I'll check the Mt Cube site. Another thing I'm looking for is a cross reference between native plant Latin name and Eco-region III or IV. Any ideas? Again, good video. Thanks.

Timely information for Spring planting. It will be interesting to note how many nurseries know what they are selling.

I love this technique! Its great for phlox and beebalm especially, since both are prone to powdery mildew. Thanks for the comment, Lynnpurse

Thanks for the feedback. Latin names are typically easily found via Lady Bird Johnson website and the extension websites for states in my ecoregion.
