I live in the Northeast, a far distance from my mom who, as we speak, is 105. I was blessed to remember the hospice org. from a few years ago and contacted them. Despite the fact that mom lives 45 minutes outside of Fresno, CA. Hines Hospice had a plan and staffing within 48 hrs. Mom was on her deathbed in the beginning; Hines had to d/c her after a year because she was continuing to improve! This was 3 years ago. My mom and my sister (83) are still at home and going strong. God Bless the hospice workers.
Thank you so much Julie. I was there when both my Dad (2014 with a stroke) and my Mom (2018 with ovarian cancer) died. Now my husband has terminal neuroendocrine cancer. I didn’t have your videos for support back then for my parents, but I do now. My husband is on “palliative care” at the moment and hospice is not far away. Your videos help me not be so anxious about that part of his journey. Thank you. You are an angel.
Hospice Nurse Julie. Our 89 year old mom passed away in hospice care last night. She's been in and out of the hospital and rehab the last two months. She took a turn for the worse Sat. afternoon and we called hospice Sunday morning. Within an hour we had the hospice nurse in for the evaluation and then transported to their facility with in 3 hours. It was amazing. In the short time she was there she was taken care of by the most amazing people I've ever been around. I've been watching your videos for the last couple of months and everything you've said is exactly how it worked. You are an angel and I thank you so much for your guidance. God bless you and thank you.
I've just hit the 'revival' stage. It's mild. I can speak for the first time in 2 months. This is the 8th year of PSP. I'm happy and can finally die with dignity. Thank you, Julie. You really are amazing.
My dad was sent from the hospital to their recommended hospice nearby. I was in no mental condition to ask questions, fortunately it turned out to be a very good place. Thank you for sharing this information! No one used to talk about this, so every time was reinventing the wheel.
Most of us are probably terrified at the prospect of a loved one, or ourselves, being told that we have a terminal illness. You've helped me a lot in conveying that death is a natural process and you don't have to feel totally alone and isolated at such a time. Thank you for sharing all this knowledge with us Julie.
My experience with Gentiva was like a Hurricane at first. Once admitted they need a social worker visit, preacher visit, and 2 nurses visits. Then the medical supply company brings the bed, and whatever else. First week is very stressful. Months later and we are very happy with Gentiva, friendly nurses and a great experience. 😘 Julie.
I really appreciate this information! I don’t need it right now, but I have a feeling it will come in handy as my husband and I get older. I’m 70 and he’s 71, so it’s best to be prepared.
I never am sent videos.. of you anymore, I'm so glad to see that there's content being made by you still. Hopefully there will be more now that i've seen this. So nice to see your face and hear your voice. You have always given me comfort. From an almost fifty nine year old woman with lots of thoughts.💐💜
Yes Julie I have seen angels before. I saw one in my bedroom one night. I had had several night of being afraid at night and one night I prayed before I went to sleep that God would protect me and give me peace as I slept that night. I woke up in the middle of the night with this huge angel standing beside my bed at the headboard. He was tall and powerful, his head went clear to the ceiling and I knew he was there to protect me. I wasn’t afraid as a matter of fact the feeling of peace was so strong in my bedroom, it was a peace that I had never felt before. I simply thanked the Lord and laid back down and went back to sleep. I am also preparing to go to school to become a hospice nurse. The Lord has led me to many death beds with loved ones and even people I didn’t know to give them a word from him and to comfort them, give them scripture from Gods Word and to just pray with them. I believe death is just another step in this life that God has given us. It’s like birth, it’s a very important transitional time in our lives and this life is not all there is. There is life after death . I know you may not be a Christian but I promise you Jesus is our way to eternal life in heaven. He is and can be our peace here and in the life after this place on earth. Thank you for your videos. I hope to be as knowledgeable as you are when I am a practicing hospice nurse.
it would have been great to have had some of these questions. I only had 2 companies to pick from. The one I chose had home health aides 5 days a week which was important for me because I live by myself. My aide helps with showers, she fixes food if I am not feeling well, she takes my trash out and helps with laundry. I could not have stayed in my home without this kind of help, so make sure to add that question to the list if it is a needed service.
It might be me, I think 12 to 15 is a lot.I know if you have more than one not doing well, there are others to help if need. I was a cna for 35 years, I worked both nursing home hospital, there were times it was stressful, Nothing like a hospice. There needs to be some kind law for hospice nurses too. Hospice isn't for everyone. GOD BLESS ALL HOSPICE NURSES❤❤
I worked for two for profit hospices. It was a terrible experience where the patients came last. Be careful with the choice of hospice. It can make all the difference.
Hi Julie. Im a subscriber. An avid fan. Just wondering if you can please discuss GIP next time. I appreciate you sharing Hospice info to us. I love your channel👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
Love, love, love your TH-cams. As a pastor and hospice volunteer, I find them to be invaluable! I’ve shared them with colleagues and even with hospice workers. One tiny thing, though… That’s cycling music in the background is really distracting and annoying for me. perhaps consider losing it.
I don’t want to die at home….are there places to go? Or, just go to the hospital & let it happen from there? Lol…are there places to go, like when grandpa took the old dog in the woods……..😊I wish I were an old dog and there was a loving grandpa ❤.
Before we even got my wife into hospice, she was taken off the vent, just to see if she could go home...she was bad and didnt make it. one and one have hour she was so bad...she went. the hospice person was very helpful
Hi Julie, my Grandpa passed away 3 days ago. The day before he was quite agitated but also was intermittently tremoring. I’m wondering if you could provide an explanation for the tremors? He would have a whole body tremor and then look scared and then close his eyes. He had COPD and lung mets. Thank you 🩷

Oh wow, I thought you were going LIVE!
Great video. You are always impressive and knowlegable 😊

I just went through this with my mom over the last 2 months. She was in a Hospice In Patient care center.

Great information. Thank you very much. The soundtrack is really bad. I'd be happy to hear just your voice.
Thank you so much
Julie could you do a personal video about yourself, if you fear death. If you think about it.. just curious what you think about your own mortality.
I can- thanks
Hey Julie, my mother has Parkinson disease. Could you please give me some information on what I should expect ? Thank you.
Yes- I'll do a video about it
@@hospicenursejulieThank you!
That is weird. I was only allowed to have 5-8 hospice patients at a time. Our continuous care was 12 hour shifts.
What about the case load for an LVN?
🙏♥️
How is this a "Live' 'Premiere?
Why the music (noise) on the background? Very disturbing.
I am so sick of trailers. Either post the full video or don't post at all.
Do you subscribe? If not wait for the full video at the time that is given...
I was expecting her to be live and interacting! 😮
I still hope that this is the hardest thing that you guys have to deal with. Best of luck with the rest of your life.💜🫶🌱

The background music is intrusive and particularly monotonous. Your voice is fine alone.
Please don’t use that particular background music again. It makes it really difficult to listen to you. Love your content.
