Thanks for another great vid. I have the same attitude like you when it comes to vehicles. I try to have a open mind and not get trapped in a brand name like alot of people. My favorite brand is the Hyundai auto group but I do believe Toyota makes the best vehicles. I prefer the Lexus looks over the Mercedes but both of them are very nice vehicles. Keep up the great work!
Hey Greg thanks so much for reaching out sir, yea that's awesome keeping an open mind with cars is very difficult for many to do. Because it has been around for many generations, Mercs will forever carry a higher cachet. However, I agree the emotional connection for the driver and/or the person watching it from the side walk, is far higher. The LC is far more special and I'll choose it over a Merc all-day every-day.
Yea I love the brand cachet Mercedes brings to the table and I believe many others do as well. But yes, as a driving utensil and something to feel special in, the LC is certainly second to none
My first video watching of yours mate cos of the LC and loved it mate 👌👌 I work for LEXUS and reviewed the LC500 the other the other week and just love it! Driving the RCF Track Edition now and just can’t even compare to the LC500!
Lexus IS just built different!!! I swear this is the best review channel out there, 100% honest feedback and just a quality review. Great content bro. Makes me want to sell my GS350 and save up for one of these in the future lol.
Super humbled my friend thank you very much for your kind words! I'm just happy to have supporters like you. GS is beautiful ride, appreciate you watching. Stay blessed
Lexus will still be running like its new after 10 years of hard driving. S Class coupe looks amazing and shouts premium but Lexus wins that battle too. This is the best car match up I've seen so far. Lexus wins it for me but the S was my go to car for a long time. Thanks for your reviews. I just bought the Lexus.
Both cars are equally amazing in their own ways and I'd take them both if I could buy two cars. That said, people need to realize that this class of cars shouldn't be about reliability, but for enjoyment. Also, expect high ownership costs for BOTH of these cars, the LC is definitely not the cheapest car to own and so is the S-Class, get an Accord or Camry if you're too concerned about cost and affordable ownership.
@@MeynMotorGroup It's because these fanboys think that, because Lexus is apart of Toyota, that it will be cheap to own. Meanwhile, parts and maintenance costs on models like the LS and LC DON'T match the costs of a Corolla, and people who may own a big body Lexus or Benz might even own a Toyota or Honda on the side as well for their DD.
Precisely right I would NEVER own an LC or other high dollar Lexus product outside of the lease period of warranty period. I plan to keep this after the lease is up but I will for sure renew warranty coverage and hopefully by then have enough saved that I can continue to run it but this is not like a Camry to run this isnt much different than the S class honestly get a warranty and please listen to Matthew as well and do not brush off this gentleman's words due to any personal brand bias
@@MeynMotorGroup one more thing, because these are coupes, and especially for the fanboys interested in the LC, please factor in insurance costs, because coupes and high end luxury cars in general have really high insurance costs that you need to consider on top of parts and labor/maintenance costs
I like sound symposers in sporty cars. I want to hear an exhaust/engine note. The Merc looks more conservative next to the Lexus. LC looks more fresh & young.
Both are great and you definitely can't go wrong either way. The LC500 leans more towards the sporty side of a Grand Tourer while the S Coupe leans towards luxury. The M850i Coupe would be a beast in both aspects I had a buddy post pictures of his S Coupe and I asked what was it... I didn't see the difference from the E Coupe. It wasn't intentional. The S Coupe definitely needs some staggered 20s, its too big for those small tires.
Happens very often with Benz for a car guy like me I get confused sometimes if the Benz it’s far from me that definitely doesn’t happened with the lc500 and now bmw,s are putting the M batch on everything 🤦♂️
Want you to do an S90 review for what it is as a luxury vehicle. Inscription or R design. You're one of the few reviewers that understand a vehicles mission statement and feel than just doing 0 to 60 times. Nice attention to detail.
I really wanted to check out some new volvos and S90 is high on my list. I never heard back from Volvo PR after my XC40 review no idea what their problem is but also access in my area is very low. I'll try to hit up a dealership one day. Thank you so much for appreciating the work I do my friend I'm humbled by that. Cars are more than specs
Massive congrats my friend I remember you just commented on my RC vid thanks so much for coming back and sharing your thoughts on the LC. It really is epic and you’re absolutely right, nobody can explain it’s excellence properly it must be driven for someone to understand
The Mercedes to me has more prestige, so to speak. Something about that 3 pointed star. That said, the LC500 is easily my favorite, and looks like it was designed in a totally different generation, in comparison to the S550. The LC500 has the best stock wheels of any vehicle currently on the market.
Like them both! Sister in law has a lc500, white with white interior. Absolutely amazing vehicle and the noises it makes! I personally would pry end up with the s class. I love the bigger car and that it's not demanding so much attention. I would just be soaking it up on the inside and enjoying the luxury and lighting.
Hey Kevin- Did you notice any issues with the Alcantara seat inserts in the LC 500? I am thinking about purchasing the LC 500 with the handling package, but that package comes with Alcantara sports seats. I have read some reviews saying that Alcantra is not as durable as leather. I will appreciate your thoughts on this.
So my car was new and I put very little mileage on the car which means I had no issues with my Alcantara. But yes it is true that Alcantara wears worse than leather however this Lexus suede material seems vastly different than what you find in other Euro cars. This is much softer and may or may not hold up better than traditional Euro Alcantara. Either way, I really like these seats for the comfort and the looks so I would personally only get this car with the sports seats but that's just me.
The "problem" with the S class coupe, and I'm putting that in air quotes because some people will think it's a plus, is it shares a body with the S class sedan so it is fundamentally a sedan that's been shortened a little. You're not getting the predatory stance, panther like shape or wild flaring curves of a purpose built coupe. A lot of people like the understated look but personally I'm not into pretending to be something I'm not.
I think all being equal ( an S550 2020), I'd choose the MBZ because I believe that the engine is tremendous having twin turbos on top of the V-8, & I prefer German engineering above everything else out there despite its long term lack of reliability.. However, the MBZ sticker price is what maybe $50K more than the Lexus? But one thing Kevin I must agree with you on in regards to those the newly designed MBZ tail-lights, their not as attractive as the previous model year that's for sure!
This generation of Mercedes S Class is truly stunning to drive that "magic carpet" crap is so real with the S class despite it not even being a 2020 I would very happy to own one but yes lol new these are like 150 haha
I will most likely never purchase another MBZ. they drive great yet they always disappoint in the end. Too much has to be compromised to own a MBZ and I for one certainly don't miss the cost of ownership.
Lexus all the way. So rare a production model shares 90%+ with the initial concept model.... A+ for driving enjoyment but A++ for long-term investment potential as the last Lexus naturally aspirated V8 sportscar, flagship, instant classic. Not to mention the Roadster version is the most beautiful Japanese convertible *!Ever!*
Lexus looks more exotic and definitely the reliability is always there. Being a car dealer for last 12 years the German cars are good as long as warranty is there. After warranty runs out you need alot of money to fix them.
Your right Kevin about the black plastics in the lexus vehicles .I love lexus but they have to many black buttons, they need more metal buttons. Well done Kevin another great review.
I suppose if you did put a turbo or two on the Lexus it would leave the Mercedes in the dust. Remember you said the Mercedes had twin turbos on it, so, if you put a turbo on the Lexus that would leave the Mercedes looking pretty weak. The Lexus doesn’t have any turbos on it, Equal the odds by giving the Lexus to turbos and there will be no contest.
That would be missing the point tho. The LC is amazing because it has no turbos. Turbocharged motors sound like vacuum cleaners no character at all just muffled. If speed is all that matters just buy a BMW or a Tesla
@@MeynMotorGroup well that was exactly my point it took two turbo chargers to be just a Little bit faster than with the Lexus LC. I wouldn’t put a turbo on the Lexus if it were mine because the Lexus is fast enough, I don’t need a rocket ship. But it is still fast. But I have to admit the Mercedes sounded pretty good, but not as good in my opinion as the Lexus LC. Enjoyed the review it was good.
Yea the Euro cars have really doubled down on the numbers and specs especially in the 2010s era and that's what helps them sell but they start lack character. Mercedes does a decent job tho not making their vehicles sound like an appliance. Benz is easily my favorite Euro car. BMWs tend to feel the fastest. But I'm noticing NA motors starting to go up in price
I love the way the lexus looks I think it looks more special like you said. The s550 looks like every other Mercedes. I was wondering how tall you were and if the lc500 can fit someone that’s 6 ft 2in?
The front of the S550 is much the same as the 2014 CLA 250 with the AMG sport line. Both have the same diamond grill. The folds in the hood are the same. The inside of the S550 is much more luxurious
Interesting comparison, the LS falters when compared to the S-Class IMO. But with this comparison, I think I prefer the LC 500. The LC is much more unique in my opinion and I prefer the more “look at me!” design of it.
You said the S class is the best riding, but is that compared to the LC500 as the Lexus flagship? If so, how about the LS500? I’d think that’s smoother
The Lexus looks more elegant and classy. The MB looks like an evolution of the previous generation. I had a MB E500 and after the issues, I swore never to buy a German car, but I ended up leasing 2022 BMW M550, and now placed an order for the 2024 LC coupe in Ultransotic Blue Mica 2.0 with a Bespoke build. Waiting to see if Lexus takes the order.
S coupe is definitely king of all cars luxury comfort performance and endless feeling of that it cares about your safety and comfort , other side lc500 is exotic had perfect materials inside had na engine with amazing sound oh man I don't know I'm going to buy lc500 and it's cheaper twicely
Exhaust Sports Auto I agree a 100 percent bro LC 500 wins vs looks I can’t judge the drive but I always trust your words on those cars and I know your not being biased cause u love Lexus just as well as Mercedes as I do 👊🏾👍🏾👍🏾
You forgot to tell us where the Vaseline compartment is on the MB. You're going to need a lot of lube if you choose to own any German car. The cost of ownership should be enough to deter any rational human being from selecting this or any car made in Germany. Let's do a comparison of how thick your repair bill folder is after five years of driving any Lexus vs. any MB. Let's add up the repair bills. Hell, if money is no object and you're sold on the logo, go ahead and be stupid. It's your choice. But, when the MB dealer tells you your turbos need replacing to the tune of $12k, it's at that point where you finally realize you fell for the hype. A car is merely transportation from A to B. Going in style is a bonus. If you can afford a luxury car that's terrific. Just keep in mind you are not buying a race car. Choosing a car simply because it does 0-60 mph one tenth of a mile per hour faster than another car is ridiculous. I love my LC500 and especially the fit and finish and reliability. There isn't any comparison between it and that MB. Not even close!!!
Always enjoy your reviews. Question, would you recommend the 2018 LC with sport package (not interested in the rear steering extra electronics, but want the LSD at a minimum) as there are a lot of used deals or should I wait for the 2019? You should do a base LC vs sports vs perf package. Thanks.
So you don't need to get the Sport package to get the LSD, LSD is a standalone option that's like $350 I think and almost every LC comes equipped with that I believe if you look at the build sheet. Main reason for getting sport package is for the rear wheel steer and variable gear ratio steering rack, apparently makes the vehicle feel very small and dynamic. Main issue with the 2018 model year is the ride quality, this is the main reason why the 2018s are so cheap in the used market and why you see the price jump for 2019 and 2020s. If you want a 2018 try your best to find a model with the 20" forged wheels instead of the 21" forged wheels. Another thing about 2019s and up is the transmission tuning got better for every day street driving. But if you can find a 2018 with 20" forged wheels try and test drive it to see if you like it I unfortunately never got access to a 2018 model or a performance model to drive
@@MeynMotorGroup I think I am confused then, thought there was a Sport and Performance package. I need to do some more research. Did you get the LSD and do you feel the difference on spirited drives?
Sorry no competition its the Merc every day, the Lexus looks amazing but the Merc is simply elegant imposing and powerful and its not even the high performance variant. As far as reliability is concerned, Only an idiot would bet against the Lexus being problem free but Merc reliability has improved and the car is sweet. I'm a BMW guy but this kicks the 8 series ass as far as class is concerned.
LC500 looks better... the problem with Mercedes and BMW is that they all pretty much look the same, inside and out. They've lost a lot of character across models as a result; the interior of an M5 or M8 is no different than an X5... and Mercedes is pretty much the same, albeit a bit more ricey (subjective). The LC is it's own, unique car and looks like a concept. The S550 looks like a 2 door C-class.
Two of my favourite cars of all time...it's a tough battle...but not a touch choice...Lexus LC500 is the most beautiful car ever produced. It's a future classic for sure. As these monstrous muscle cars walk further and further into extinction due to electrification of cars, the world will look back to these in years to come and remember the heydays of V8 internal combustion engines. Such a shame!
Oh wow did they anounce no more coupe for the ridiculous 2021 that just came out? I guess the take rate is so low it makes sense but yea the W222 generation as a whole is a pretty good pick up now with a warranty or CPO because they ruined the new one for many.
@@MeynMotorGroup Yeah they've trimmed the fat so to speak and cut a few different models I'm not sure of all of them off the top of my head but the coupe I know was one of them.
its all about the soul of the car , no merc can replicate the LC , the LC its a mix between the S class and the AMG GT its really a unique car i cant really explain and seems like you still cant explain it too after this few months of ownership . Like you say its an emotional thing , i hope you can own that car for as much time as you want ,youre an happy boi inside of that thing . If that lil tease u gave is from an LCC i cant wait to see your reaction i think you can hear things on that car that you cant on yours and i hope you drove it with the top down
Yea I can never properly explain the sensations because you know spec sheet freaks will never get it no matter how you word it. You're so right LC will never be replicated moving forward. And yes I've been TOLD I will be getting the LCC to review I'm not making any promises til they deliver dealing with pissy little PR people SUCK and we have to rely on either dealerships or manufacturers for our supply of cars to review
Agreed, I reviewed the LC couple weeks ago and it is something different and so special with how it drives, it was built with driving in mind and everything else second which I love but unfortunately a lot of people just don’t get.
First time I saw an lc500, I couldn’t take my eyes off it. The owner drove it with the windows down so I could get a peek at the interior it was very unique to me and in red also fell in love with it right away.
I find myself attracted to mercedes over the years, only thing I dont.like is that c,e,s always look so similar. I love our mercedes w221, since it doesnt look like any other mercedes. You never confuse it with a c or e. I also like the mercedes w212 version of the e class. Mercedes is watering down to many products. That's why cars like the newer sl are dead.

The LC is something special 👌👌
How about comfort in sitting e.g. seat, legs and view of the road?
I hate typical sports cars as they are slunk so low...
Def the S Class
Lexus will still be running like its new after 10 years of hard driving. S Class coupe looks amazing and shouts premium but Lexus wins that battle too. This is the best car match up I've seen so far. Lexus wins it for me but the S was my go to car for a long time. Thanks for your reviews. I just bought the Lexus.
Maaan you have a very unique review style. Good job.
Appreciate that my friend thank you!
I'd easily take the LC for the looks, reliability, maintenance & resale value. I have a 2015 RC F solar orange & love it.
imagine buying a 100k luxury car just because it will be more reliable
Exactly that's not the reason why people should be excited about the LC. That's what I'm trying to change in people
Both cars are equally amazing in their own ways and I'd take them both if I could buy two cars.
Pure facts especially about reliability you're so right about that
@@MeynMotorGroup It's because these fanboys think that, because Lexus is apart of Toyota, that it will be cheap to own.
Noise definitely adds to the driving experience!
Thumbs up on this test, the one I´ve been looking for!
Oh wow I'm so happy I could deliver my friend!
Both are great and you definitely can't go wrong either way. The LC500 leans more towards the sporty side of a Grand Tourer while the S Coupe leans towards luxury. The M850i Coupe would be a beast in both aspects
I had a buddy post pictures of his S Coupe and I asked what was it... I didn't see the difference from the E Coupe. It wasn't intentional. The S Coupe definitely needs some staggered 20s, its too big for those small tires.
Agreed my friend S class can def be mistaken with other cars in the lineup LC is such a bespoke ride
Happens very often with Benz for a car guy like me I get confused sometimes if the Benz it’s far from me that definitely doesn’t happened with the lc500 and now bmw,s are putting the M batch on everything 🤦♂️
The S-class coupe is the stealth wealth 😂
Ah man bro I can’t wait for u to review the 2021 LC500 soon as I saw that car I thought about u doing a review on it
damn, even the downshifting makes that powerful noise!-natural aspirating engine. I love that mechanical connection!!
Lexus LC 👌👌
Yes sir!
I want to want the S class but after I reviewed the LC a couple weeks ago, definitely Agree!
@@SergCarReviews Mercedes is nice too. Both are great brands/cars.
T123 Agreed 👌
Want you to do an S90 review for what it is as a luxury vehicle. Inscription or R design. You're one of the few reviewers that understand a vehicles mission statement and feel than just doing 0 to 60 times. Nice attention to detail.
I really wanted to check out some new volvos and S90 is high on my list. I never heard back from Volvo PR after my XC40 review no idea what their problem is but also access in my area is very low. I'll try to hit up a dealership one day. Thank you so much for appreciating the work I do my friend I'm humbled by that. Cars are more than specs
@@MeynMotorGroup understood. Keep doing what u do regardless. Very good refreshing reviews.
Really appreciate it proud to have supporters like you. Please take care
LC 500 hands down reliability, looks, name it!!!
Having enjoyed all your reviews lately great job kevin
Really appreciate that my friend!
I picked up an LC today in the exact same color scheme that you have. You can't explain how special this car is without experiencing it
Massive congrats my friend I remember you just commented on my RC vid thanks so much for coming back and sharing your thoughts on the LC.
Yes I agree German brands will always Carry more brand prestige but LC is such a honey for sure
@@MeynMotorGroup
The best car doesn't always mean the most prestigious one.
Mercedes should have made s class coupe a little different.
This shape works perfectly on C class coupe but not this size.
Thank you for this comparison. Very different cars yet still in the same conversation (used M-B vs new LC500).
@@MeynMotorGroup Thank you so much for your response.
That's a very good point yes and as you mentioned, some will really like that understated look but not for everyone.
If money wasn’t an option I’ll take both🤩
I know right 😆
I think all being equal ( an S550 2020), I'd choose the MBZ because I believe that the engine is tremendous having twin turbos on top of the V-8, & I prefer German engineering above everything else out there despite its long term lack of reliability..
@@MeynMotorGroup I just got through viewing the new 20021 MBZ E53 Coupe on Mr Benz's channel & it's the car to get!....CHEERS!
Yea German cars are best leased or bought CPO with an extended warranty for sure
Your right Kevin about the black plastics in the lexus vehicles .I love lexus but they have to many black buttons, they need more metal buttons. Well done Kevin another great review.
Yea Im shocked they haven't moved to a more alloy finish because they use great metals throughout the cabin thanks again sir!
@@MeynMotorGroup great channel, thanks Kevin.
I suppose if you did put a turbo or two on the Lexus it would leave the Mercedes in the dust.
Remember you said the Mercedes had twin turbos on it, so, if you put a turbo on the Lexus that would leave the Mercedes looking pretty weak. The Lexus doesn’t have any turbos on it,
Equal the odds by giving the Lexus to turbos and there will be no contest.
I respect your honest and unique review on these 2 cars . Your points and reviews help buyers really think what they really need. Good job
Humbled by that thank you!
Excellent review, thanks!
Thank you my friend!
I love the way the lexus looks I think it looks more special like you said. The s550 looks like every other Mercedes. I was wondering how tall you were and if the lc500 can fit someone that’s 6 ft 2in?
The Lexus overall is a more special and unique car and the style is fresh and exciting. The Mercedes is dated with an old look. I prefer Lexus!
Just started watching following your AMG GT video. Love both of these actually!
Thanks for checking out both vids I love both as well!
It is difficult to style a car with a bold striking unique look that ages well . I think that Lexus has done it with the LC 500.
S Class, it looks more elegant, more luxurious and more refined.
The front of the S550 is much the same as the 2014 CLA 250 with the AMG sport line. Both have the same diamond grill. The folds in the hood are the same. The inside of the S550 is much more luxurious
LC500 is my dream car!
Interesting comparison, the LS falters when compared to the S-Class IMO. But with this comparison, I think I prefer the LC 500. The LC is much more unique in my opinion and I prefer the more “look at me!” design of it.
LC500 still looks like a concept car unbelievable design
You said the S class is the best riding, but is that compared to the LC500 as the Lexus flagship? If so, how about the LS500? I’d think that’s smoother
S class is the best riding car period.
Great review buddy. Keep it up, it’s my first time on your channel.
Thank you so much my friend humbled by that! Really appreciate your support too.
The S class is a lot more prestigious. I see the Ceo of large corporations driving the Mercedes-Benz and their highly paid staff driving the LC500.
I first chose the LC..til i drove the s class.. its no comparison…the LC looks badass tho!
Your LC500 is waaaay sporty looking than that Benz and u know I ain’t biased bro because Mercedes is my favorite German car
Haha yea bro I really like the S550 sedan that's got a good presence to it the coupe for me has to be LC
Exhaust Sports Auto I agree a 100 percent bro LC 500 wins vs looks I can’t judge the drive but I always trust your words on those cars and I know your not being biased cause u love Lexus just as well as Mercedes as I do 👊🏾👍🏾👍🏾
S Class = married grandpa, LC500 = single grandpa
How do you people concoct this stuff and even manage to justify it
Lexus Lc 500 all day everyday! The Lc looks are on FIRE 🔥!!!
@@eventusvantos2770 Amen.
Did you graduate from Stanford? What's the red "S' stand for?
NC State!
They both are hot whips. I'm a fast driver and like to dip so the LC probably would be more fun. But, the S Coupe is style and elegance.
Absolutely I def love both!
I'll take the Lexus everytime.
Yea it's a ton of fun
LC500 looks better... the problem with Mercedes and BMW is that they all pretty much look the same, inside and out. They've lost a lot of character across models as a result; the interior of an M5 or M8 is no different than an X5... and Mercedes is pretty much the same, albeit a bit more ricey (subjective). The LC is it's own, unique car and looks like a concept. The S550 looks like a 2 door C-class.
LC 500 any day and every day of the week for me.
You crack me up. Great video!
Thank you my friend!
Five steps ahead of me! I was just thinking about this match up yesterday
I'm very happy I could deliver my friend!
Agreed!
Lol right on time bro just went on a break at the job so I know u dropped it will check it out when I get back home rap with u then bro 👊🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Haha thanks brother really appreciate it
Exhaust Sports Auto U got it 👍🏾👍🏾
If you want an Sclass coupe you'd better grab it cause they aren't making them any more!
@@Excalabur50 They gotta make room for all those SUVs and SUV Coupe things lolol
@@MeynMotorGroup Seemingly they're getting rid of at least 7 models, so C, E, S, class coupes and convertibles as well as others
@@eventusvantos2770 out of everything you mentioned that I'm actually excited to see is the new SL because its one of the few hard top convertibles
S550 is very nice but ill take the lexus in white with red interior
That's an awesome spec!
its all about the soul of the car , no merc can replicate the LC , the LC its a mix between the S class and the AMG GT its really a unique car i cant really explain and seems like you still cant explain it too after this few months of ownership .
S550 when you want to be somebody, LC500 when you are somebody.
This comment makes no sense
i didnt get to drive the lc500, but I sat in it. I drove the S560 though. The LC500 surprisingly had better seats, but less visibility.
Why would anyone ever get a Merc over the Lexus? Looks better, drives better, feels better, more reliable, better pedigree. It's a no brainer
I’d choose the Lex…No Doubt !
First time I saw an lc500, I couldn’t take my eyes off it. The owner drove it with the windows down so I could get a peek at the interior it was very unique to me and in red also fell in love with it right away.
Nice! That's awesome yea I hardly see any on the road only seen 4 so far.
Yea they're focusing on more SUVs now it's ridiculous all the SUVs they recently came out with
