  • If you’ve ever found Upavistha Konasana to be a little tricky, the tips in this video will help you move into the pose with ease. Sometimes, we make it harder than it needs to be!
In this tutorial, we show you how to do UPAVISTHA KONASANA \ WIDE LEGGED SEATED FORWARD FOLD POSE from the second half of Ashtanga's Primary Series. You’ll learn the Sanskrit count and traditional vinyasa cues, along with lots of suggestions for jumping into and out of this pose. We share common mistakes and important info around alignment to help you avoid injuries like yoga butt, as well as tips to help you understand how wide to place your legs, how to position the hips, and where to place your hands. You’ll learn how to transition into the lifted B position and how the gaze and alignment changes as well as why this movement is important to explore here and in other poses.

I must admit that priortising keeping hold of the feet rather than keeping the legs straight when transitioning to the B position was new to me.

Thank you guys for very clear explanations and tips. It's great. As you ask regularly, if you could do a tutorial on Utthita hasta padangusthasana that would be amazing. I got lost in the focus and what to check to get into the posture and to improve. Thanks again, and I love the dog too!
