  • In this video, I speak with Pumaya, who in 2020, graduated from the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Ghana, with a First Class Bachelor of Science Degree in Land Management and as the valedictorian of his year group. Pumaya explains how he was able to combine his numerous extracurricular activities with studies and also shares the strategy to his success. He goes further to shed light on what it really is like to study at UDS and live in the northern part of Ghana which is generally considered by many Ghanaians to be underdeveloped and have poor living conditions.

Thanks April, great video. It was nice watching Pumaya. I could relate to many things he spoke about because I am from the North myself (student in KNUST) and I know how people have weird assumptions it.

This guy...! Oh my, so much to say just can't type it all. Humble, friendly funny and lively. He was the beacon of the class. He can teach you something few minutes before an exam and when it comes, you'll be able to answer the question so well as though you spent hours studying that topic. Any academic contest between departments he was our messiah. He's a genius! Best graduating student, department, faculty, and best graduating student Wa campus, 21st congregation. His intelligence is heavenly. He inspires me. Keep doing the most Hussein.

Watched from UK. Like your cute afro :) I wanted to ask you a question for some time now. Why didn't you become a teaching assistant after graduating UG law school with 1st class. And do you plan doing your masters and higher, perhaps?
