i came across black dahlia murder around 6 months ago and since then have been learning some of your leads and songs in general and due to that i have grown in skill in those few months more than the past year. You have my utmost respect man!
YES. Bro, i feel like i'm getting better at guitar for the first time in a couple of years learning TBDM riffs. Shit's crazy. I just recorded a little beginning part of Moonlight Equilibrium and i was dying on 90% of speed and was like wtf how do i do it even faster. But i tried and got it pretty good. The best fucking feeling ever
What's crazy is how on time you are without a metronome/in ears/headphones that I can see or hear. I know this whole album by heart on drums due to me constantly practicing it damn near everyday to get better as a drummer. That was flawless dude \m/
@@tommj4365 which is absolutely dumb; drummers are the time keepers of the band. To know songs by heart is one thing, to play it without fuck ups and on time is so much more rewarding. As a beginner musician I never practiced with a metronome then I took drumming more seriously as I got older and now it's essential for me to have a click going either during practice or live performance, it just makes everything sound like it should
This is still the Black Dahlia Murder song that I listen to the most. Absolute masterful song writing. It was great to see and hear the isolated guitar. Thanks for the upload.
I'm working class status, lots of stuff has gotten in the way, I've been listening to ya'll since I was a kid. Highschool, working dead end jobs for years, military, more working, finally in fucking college man about to be 30. Fucking thank you for all the music seriously.
LOVING these playthroughs bro! The originality of your riffs doesn't always come through on the albums. I have become a much bigger fan of TBDM since I have had a chance to really analyze the complexity and uniqueness of the riff writing. You continue to amaze.
I love these hotel room play throughs so much. The SPANKING those strings are taking. You stat ape one too, the got dang spank you've got going on is too good.
Holy shit I've been singing along the entire time and thinking "man this guy is fucking FLAWLESS" and then I check the name of the channel hahaha mind blown, thank you Brandon!
I love all of these playthroughs. I can't wait for a What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse vid. The lead harmony of the chorus riff is really hard for me because of the speed + having to skip over a string while palm muting.
although Brandon played this flawlessly, we should appreciate Brian's rhythm for all these years, his part is hard as lead and glad we have 3 mastermind in TBDM , great job
You're a motherfucking WIZARD Brandon! SO inspiring. Thanks for uploading these for us humble peasants. Show in Toronto a couple weeks ago was dope, btw - took my wife to see you guys as her first metal show and it was a banger. Thanks again.
Man I can do the "Hetfield" approach on those alternate picking but that up down technique I just can't get down lol, beautiful as always and you guys kill it every night 🤘🖤
you should eff w people and at least play one song in the set w that guitar. 🤣 Really dig these videos my dude, they're inspiring and helpful for if I decide to learn these songs. Trying to dig myself out of a rut and I always found learning new songs helpful in changing my perspective on stuff.
Por favor alguien que me diga algun consejo para que la pua no pegue en la quinta cuerda cuando toco el riff principal, he intentado solo usar pua hacia abajo pero pierdo mucha velocidad
Maybe just me but you look a little down in this video. Things can always be better than what they are no matter the situation. Just know you have a huge following that looks to you for inspiration and we enjoy everything you put out. 🤘
So sick. Brandon is one of my favorite players i try to emulate. I just wish he would lower his patreon payment. 30 bucks a month is a little too high for me.
That AC is putting on a light show of its own with how hot those riffs are.
looks like has a metronome on it :D
Hahaha it is strobing like crazy
@@vpguitarcovers4088I didn't think of it like that! Awesome perception 🤘🏻
Thanks for uploading all these great playthroughs, Brandon. Hope you guys are all doing well, keep it up!
The main riff sounds so at the gates! Man they we're so influential
That was one of my first thoughts when I heard Miasma originally.
makes sense, Brandon cited them as one of his biggest influences
@@sandwork This song isn't written by Brandon. He wasn't in the band during Nocturnal album.
@@thisandthat1233 youre right
0:21 That tremolo riff is easily my favorite part of the song. Trevor's low growls went so well with this riff and the blast beat.
Love these hotel room sessions

practicing with a metronome helps a ton... I know too many musicians who don't seem to wanna though, even drummers
He has a metronome in this video, it’s the air conditioning lights, duh lol

@phatjesus5968 You dont by any chance live in central PA do ya lol. Im trying to put together a band
this was the first black dahlia murder song i listened to and also played all the way through its just a fckn masterpiece
This is still the Black Dahlia Murder song that I listen to the most. Absolute masterful song writing.
It was great to see and hear the isolated guitar. Thanks for the upload.
You continue to grace us with this treasure trove of knowledge and entertainment. How delightful! Thank you Brandon!
This is probably my favourite TBDM riff and the one that gets stuck in my head often. Thanks for sharing this!
I love these videos. You play so cleanly. I would enjoy seeing some tracks off of Ritual!

Statutory Ape and Deathmask Divine. My favorite TBDM songs. An unstopable force
Nocturnal is so dark, amazing riffs and axe
I love these hotel room play throughs so much. The SPANKING those strings are taking. You stat ape one too, the got dang spank you've got going on is too good.
One of my fave songs of all time. Listened to it hundreds of times.
We just need you to do full album play throughs. ALL OF THEM!
Thanks for these and keep rocking!🤘🤘
its cool to see the rhythm section of this song on display and see the music theory behind it. thank u for doing this!
Probably my favorite BDM song! Very glad to have seen you play it live at Milwaukee Metal Fest!
I love those hotel rooms playthrough so much man! TBDM 🤘

watching these playtrough, I started listening to The Black Dahlia Murder more 😅 thanks bro🤟
2:07 is just disgusting and I love it.
Youre a beast Brandon. Been listening to black dahlia murder since I was in middle school. I remember when miasma came out. Insane
Awesome Brandon! Great riffs and vibes on this song 👌😍🤟
what a catchy riff
When perfect technique meets musicality 👌
Why yes I'll have a large order of this with my morning coffee.
God I hope this was recorded at sunrise that way your hotel neighbors can get a heavy dose of these pants dropping and ball crushing riffs
Your guitar work is absolutely killer! Very envious of your ability, but jam to it every day.
These are so fun to drum along to! Wouldn’t complain if you uploaded more :)

Fucking riffmaster is ALWAYS flawless
God I love these videos of my favorite songs/albums please keep them coming
These riffs are so awesome. And they are so unique 🔥🔥🔥

ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVS 😍! STILL GIVES ME CHILLS. SO POETIC.... WE MISS YALL HERE IN SAN DIEGO! HOPE ALL IS WELL! MUCH LOVE! 🖖LIVE FREE AND STAY IRIE🤘
Thank you Brandon!! Now I can play it the right way on (your) Guitar!
i've just discovered this masterpiece song and here i see the playthrough of it by Brandon Ellis 🤘
this tune is so sick
Thank you for this!!!
You can see how the rear air conditioning led indicators also vibrate at the same time as TBDM !!!😆
#1 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Awesome playthrough Brandon, thanks! Also, I like how the green LEDs on the AC unit seem to be blinking in time! \m/
The air conditioner metronome in the background, blasting away with stage lights!
Can't wait to see you in Edmonton next week, Bro!
Man I can do the "Hetfield" approach on those alternate picking but that up down technique I just can't get down lol, beautiful as always and you guys kill it every night 🤘🖤
Good Shit bro I'm excited to see what you and Ryan will do together.
So fuckin stoked for Saturday man!!!! Hails!!!!
Brandon you are a legend
Thanks man! Keep ‘em comin’
1:20 onwards is fire
Probably not saying much. But low key my fave TBDM track. So happy to see it live.
I need to learn this now after watching, thanks dude 🤘🏻☹️🤘🏻
NECROMANTIC SIN. Let’s go brother
Wowwww fucking sick that breakdown of sorts is sickkkk
Hello from Russia! Brandon Ellis is a living legend.
He didn't write this riff, but yeah, he has a unbelievable good technically
i was really hoping to see this i fcking love you
Will be getting this same guitar, and will have to give it a cutaway.
Bad ass as always!!!
I'm so relieved that the first riff isn't played with only downstrokes lol
Oh hell yeah. What battery powered amp are you using?
I would love to see Receipt at some point please. Guitar parts are very intricates and it would be amazing to see how it’s properly played :)
I like how the AC is also the metronome
Sometimes I forget just how fast these songs actually are...
So so sick. 😍
So good dude
Damn Brian is a genious!!
tough as fuck man, fav riffs, looks so smooth but hard to play omfg
you should eff w people and at least play one song in the set w that guitar. 🤣

Good morning sir
I gotta step up my alternate picking game, jeez Louise!
nice cover
A lot to ask but if Brian could do vocals and rhythm the possibilities of dual solos and call and responds between Brandon and Ryan would be amazing.
Leds at the background is always bouncing like me when i heard this song...
Awesome technique. Fucking amazing! Thx
But seriously why is that ac light synchronized to the picking. Am I going mad?
why not?
It's just vibing
The tremolo parts are hard af
Anyone else notice the room AC vibing with the guitar. 😆🤘🤘
See you tonight in Edmonton bro!!!!!
Please I beg you I beg you I beg you, do this for all the albums 😭😭😭
For Trevor!!!! Hails
Is the airconditioner behind you also a metronome ?
The lights going straight with the rythm :D
That’s a sick guitar. What amp are you playing through?
Por favor alguien que me diga algun consejo para que la pua no pegue en la quinta cuerda cuando toco el riff principal, he intentado solo usar pua hacia abajo pero pierdo mucha velocidad
Sounds killer as always. What picks do you use?
Maybe just me but you look a little down in this video. Things can always be better than what they are no matter the situation. Just know you have a huge following that looks to you for inspiration and we enjoy everything you put out. 🤘
This song goes so fucking hard,
Yo, you gonna check out the new boss evh dual delay pedal?
This guy is legit good. Maybe he can play in a band or something.
Buen trabajo¡! 👌💪
a machine
How do one can learn that outside picking pedal tones
I love at the gates I agree

Who did the finish on that Steinberger? I’ve got one that’s I’d love to do a black/neon pink crackle finish with.
It's not a Steinberger it does use their hardware tho. It's a company called Blake
Amazing
