Here’s the playthrough for Matriarch by The Black Dahlia Murder. To all the TBDM fans: we are very sorry about the mistakes that were done in post production. We want to apologise to the band and everyone involved for then outcome. After having the approval of the band, here’s the revised and corrected video.
Again, sorry and have fun!
We have fun and you have our respect, thanks
You’re welcome!
Good enough for me
Whats happen ?
Drums are too loud
Brian riding that flying V like he about to head to a quidditch game.
This comment should have more votes lol
Underrated comment. 🏆🏆🏆
hahaha
@@andreolofsson4750 not all of us know about LOTR
@@hsbr00m I think your think of Harry Potter not lord of the rings
I think Brian is one of the most underrated rhythm guitarists, I've always admired his precision and song writing ability.
Brian is Dahlia
trevor too! without either one of those guys the sound would change drastically
Indeed
His skill as a song writer in creating a really vivid atmosphere is second to none in metal over the last 15 years
He really is the backbone of TBDM imo
R.I.P Trevor. So consistent of a band . No bad album
Agree.
yall ready for anotha?!
Verminous
Abysmal disagrees but outside of that many bangers
Brian's the Ron Swanson of brutal metal.
bro you nailed it.
Bahahahaha
Swan Ronson
Paddle your own Corpse. Best book ever.
Man, Brandon has buttery smooth soloing. Brian writes the most tasty riffs. Legendary band.
Sick band. What's your TBDM favorite song?
Just one song? They got like 300 songs lol Off the top of my head I'll go with A Vulgar Picture, a classic. Or When The Last Grave Has Emptied
That tapping was silky smooth!
Thomann Music mine fav is What a horrible night to have a curse. Such gnarly tones on that song along with every other one on Nocturnal.
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses It has always been Christ Deformed for me. Such a beast of a maturely written catchy riff. Can't get enough
brian looks like he's trying to keep from shitting his pants the whole video. Such an awesome video
FrankshredZ LMAO
just try to play that song without shit out your pants xD
I shit my pants just watching it
id be trying not to shit my pants too if I wrote and ripped as gnarly as him lol
Lmao
Brian is.... kmac's true form?
You could be right, Ulyan. I’ve never seen them in the same room together..... KMAC is the Meme King!

Haha funny shit. Watch Brian have a Scottish accent one day!!!!
he's the charizard to kmac's charmeleon
@@420247milo plot twist: the Scottish accent isn't real XD it was just a long winded Shrek meme that went on for too long now it's stuck haha
Brandon is surely amazing but Brian is just the key to TBDM sound he has been creating and chugging these brutal riffs since the begining.
Yes sir Brian is the man.. Pretty much his band along with trevor..
Every member of this band is fucking awesome at what they do. None of them should be ever allowed to leave and must make albums forever.
As long as Brian and Trevor there, TBDM will forever consistent.
@@rizqibayumantari6769 :(
@@rizqibayumantari6769 rip
3:13 Brian's unbroken, soulless stare is really unsettling...
...and so powerful he just impregnated 15 men
@PrinceAlbert10G Yeahhhhhh gonna have to make that 17
i mean after what happened…
Brian just shreds. He's the foundation of the band. Dude is a solid workhorse that just shreds his face off.
I never would have thought 4 years later Brian would be the lead singer and Trevor wouldn’t be with us anymore. RIP Trevor Strnad today marks 1 year since you left us. 🖤
rest in paradise, trevor
BRIAN = the BRAIN behind TBDM
GET A BRIAN MORAN !!
Brutality, tone, excellent engineering, decibels, metal, crunch, precision.
Brian is hands down the best rhythm guitarist in metal! A true Riff Lord!
That solo...Brandon is too clean.
He's a genius. I'm jealous. :)
Incredibly difficult licks just drip off Brandon's fingers, and HIS VIBRATO?!? Brian is a true riff-master
I love that one of the most replayed parts of this video is just brian talking about peavey😂
Brian is God tier level when it comes to rhythm guitar. Mans has been writing and performing music for the same band for like 20 yrs. His dedication and love shows. 🖤🤘🏻
Brandon Ellis is such a killer. My new favorite guitarist at the moment
Brian is an amazing composer. He would’ve wrote some amazing music if he was around in Mozart’s time
Brian isn't actually sitting down, he's just in an ultra power stance the whole time |m| 0_0 |m|
i will never understand how brian downpicks at 240bpm so effortlessly, what an incredible and underrated rhythm guitarist
All wrist too, his arm doesn't even move....
Brandon is amazing! So much talent! His way of playing is magical.
You're so right, that's my favorit moment 2:43
Aitor Rico Shred he may, but are we forgetting who writes this fucking shit?!
@@gorehammer42o you right. Brendon is really smooth but man... I think that Brian ist one of the top 10 metal rhythm players. It's just staggering how easy he playes so complicated riffs.
I remember I first got into the black dahlia murder when they released nocturnal and this shit right here is precisely why. Nothing is simple. These guys put together the most insane funky sounding riffs. The precision in the rhythm is platinum tier
Brandon's solo is just perfect OMG
TBDM has some of the best rythm and lead work ive heard in a long time.
The solo is stuck in my head.....totally face melting
No face is safe from that solo
A few nights ago I couldn't sleep because this solo was playing over and over in my head. One of my favorite!
These dudes just keep proving why they're my favorite DM band. Absolutely incredible guitar work from these lads.
the weirdest way of playing a V since The Kinks
It's the strap that's making it possible lol. Without, it would be impossible haha.
Daniel Lievemaa the Kinks one is a weird one indeed
My wrist hurts just looking at it!
IKR!!!!
Just like he plays standing up
I've started learning their songs...Brian's part on every song is high key way more fun to play. Dude really makes the songs sound more interesting. I love this band
Unpopular opinion but the solo is nothing special. Good but not interesting. The best part are the simple, mean chords Brian plays under it after the solo peaks.
Feels sick.
I love that nobody's forcing them to play so complicated riffs, but they still do it cause they love playing like that
Been a hardcore TBDM fan since Miasma and it always shows how amazing and talented every single member is where every album they keep getting better.. and better. I know Brandon is the newest member but his play style is wild and amazing. They had the old lead guitarist from Arsis for one album, but Nightbringer is a masterpiece of an album.
The fact that they keep getting better is frustrating, as a guitarist trying to keep up.
I have been a hardcore fan of BDM since their live show with Cannibal Corpse in Ottawa Canada way back when Unhallowed was first released, and I honest to God get choked up every time.
brian's right hand is so smooth, he barely seems like he's trying but precise as a robot
3:14 Gives me nightmares... I also like the part with the guitars. What's your favourite part?
//Andy
The whole playthorugh is fvckn awesome!! lml the creepy stare make it more b00tal lol
LMAO!
Brian is a beast of a rhythm player. His postures real weird though, but if it works it works i guess haha
D. Gilmore it’s probably because he’s holding a V sitting down
i think he may have been playing that way because there's a straplock on the underside that digs into your leg if you rest it like a classical guitar
His postures like a bass player playing finger style
@@joelbennett9014 You dont have to play a V for these shows, though. That was a choice. He's just very comfortable playing these super fast, complex parts like that, he didn't think anything of it.
@@maynardburger I didn't say anything about a V, you're thinking of the other guy
Amazing.
still the best piece of music on youtube
Turn the drums down a little. We came to hear the guitars
Yep. I totally agree.
Hahahahha
Use headphones or actual quality speakers instead of your cellphones, idiots
That's how I feel about the album too. Every BDM album has had quieter guitars than the previous one.
Joshsojoshsoj Jason Suecof disease. The guy has crystal clear production, but the drums are too damn loud
The most impressive thing to me about Brandons playing is honestly his bend control
he definitely likes to show it off, lol
Brian is one of 2 secret ingredients. I’ve always said it. Much love Trevor. Some OGs
The Peavy 6505+ is my absolute favorite amp!! *Hell yeah!!*
I’m trying to figure out those settings
I know quite little from this band, but off the bat these creatures rock. Can't wait to see them live. Shout out from Houston
What an insane performance, trying to learn this song by observing how they play it at like half speed haha and I keep being amazed by their cleanness :0
Imagine how much time and discipline you must dedicate to be able to play like these guys... TBDM kicks ass
I fucking love Brian. what a lad.
Always great watching BDM anything. They never disappoint
It's funny how things can make a full circle. I dreamed of being this good at guitar in High School. I Practiced for years. Finally got to a point that I could hold my own and was supper motivated to continue playing and to get better. Then I met a girl.... Dated her for 2 years then got married. All while slowly loosing the motivation to practice guitar. 4 years of being married, she leaves me. By that point I had sold all my guitar stuff and had not played guitar in at least 3 years. Now I don't have the girl, the motivation, the discipline, or my own personnel best version of skill I worked towards. I'm living the same life I was living then. Except instead of school, it's work instead.
Brian has always reminded me of Garfield. Awesome riffing here.
i love this band so much
Peavey has been my go to for years. Beautiful playing once again from king brian and brandon.
Saw them live 3 weeks earlier on my birthday, one of the best days of my life. Pure ecstasy
I come back and enjoy locking eyes with Brian all the time 3:13
Love brian, always been one of my favourites.
Brandon is amazing and Brian is still super under rated as a player and writer.
How fitting, just ordered the Peavey 6505+ in the background today !
manu0696 great choice!
I've had mine for about 4 months. It slays. Wont regret it unless you dont like loud amps.
@@omarm7969 Who doesn't like loud amps? 😎
Luc Laros people that live in apartments lol
Fvckn love mine!! lml
Man these guys put on hands down the best concert I've ever been to, the mosh pit to Deathmask Divine was complete insanity
That distorted single line Funeral Thirst riffs sounded soooo gnarly, need a full playthrough like that.
I’ve always been a fan of their albums, But I’ve never seen them play their songs. Dear god these guys are riff machines! Awesome video, this showcases their talents even more.
Go see them live if you get the chance, they are so on top of the game it's crazy.
Manu Der Fuchs I want to really bad. I would be doing that double fist pump in the air for every song.
Definitely see them live if you can. They're absolutely phenomenal every time!
Saw them in Fargo a few months ago. Amazingly tight performance, one of the best concerts I've ever been to
Saw them in London back in March with Cannibal Corpse
Lmao Brian at 3:15
Capt'n Shred right in the deepth of your soul
He looked exactly like my cousin when he plays something easy for him
Weed.
LMAO!
Love these guitars. Amazing looking instruments
Brian, the total pro.
Brandon solos are effort less and full of feeling. Brian is a legend at this point. BDM producing their best music 15 years in.
God I love TBDM. Own all their shit. Fully purchased. Nothing pirated, all legit. Love it.
My best guess on the pedals:
- BOSS TU-3 Tuner
- MAXON OD808 Overdrive
- MXR M101 Phase 90
- BOSS NS-2 Noise Suppressor
Not sure whose board they showed though.
and an mxr carbon copy delay. gna say its brandons pedal because he's lead and ive definitely heard delay in some of his stuff
This is so good that it almost feels like it's edited
These guys are the real deal
This dudes solos are fucking nuts. One of the gnarliest shred albums I've heard in a really long time...maybe ever...
one of my favorite bands of all time. just bought one of their re-release t-shirt’s to calibrate 20 years since unhallowed. where does time go
I love how brian just stares into your soul towards the end of the playthrough
The dude brandon is fucking sick. I've been playing metal since i was 8, and I'm 27 now, but I'm still super impressed with this kid. Wish there was more cool dudes to play with in my area as a teen. Was always my dream to write, and tour with a band.
31 now.. how’s that band coming?
They are both so nonchalant about how ridiculous they are. Brandon through the solo was basically like "What you mean you can't all play guitar like this?" I fucking love these dudes and I fucking love this band. Long live The Black Dahlia Murder!
Brian really out here doing the chad spread.
Love it when I see a play through video and the solo is nailed pretty much note for note, especially that tapping section. I know these solos are hard, but that’s what makes it more satisfying to see.
Brian is definitely the best metal guitarist I’ve ever heard. All of the lead players were great throughout their career, specifically the dude who played on Everblack (I will look it up after I embarrass myself by not knowing his name), and the current lead player is amazing… but Brian is the genius among them. Indescribably unique guitarist.
Both great guitar players that looks so comfortable doing what they do!
Been following Brandon ever since he was with Arsis and posting SICK videos on his channel.
So happy he’s with TBDM as well! Such a sick fucking player.
Great duo. Super focus Brandon and good job Brian
This is why I'm subscribed to this channel.
RockMusic and we won’t disappoint!
Thank you guys! Superb song!!!!
I get goosebumps watching these legends shred. Their riffs are not easy to play.
Pedals in the intro, from right to left ;
Boss tu-3, MXR M169 carbon copy, MXR phase 90, Maxon OD808, Boss ns-2 and a peavey footswitch controller.
That bend is on point as ffffffuuuuuuuucs
Love you guys
sick sick sick! hope TDBM lives on for a long long time!
Awesome! Love these guys
Brian is the genius of songwriting and one of the most talented rhythm guitarists! Love to know that I told it to him a couple of years ago:)
This is the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life!! And I've seen a lot of fkn cool things.
brians peavy plug at the ends seriously fucking kills me HAHHAHAHA
Sic ass band, sic ass song, sic ass players. Love these dudes....🤘
They will always be my favorite metal band.
Peavey is (metal) life!
thank you for this~!!! pretty cool
You're very welcome! \m/
That band got me into heavy shred music. Much love
Fucking loved the end with Brian looking into the camera and that Peavey bit. Love TBDM.
These boys shred so well together!
My bands like “ we need to sound more like Black Dahlia”.
I watch this and say “yeaaaaaaaa no.” I don’t have time to be this good 🤣
That is amazing that they can do that live & in sync with each other.
Brandon has the best signature Kelly there is I love the reverse head stock.
Such effortless mastery. Hope we get to see these guys out again soon...
