    I honestly 100% relate with hating myself, and I can appreciate bands like Beartooth that are bringing positivity into their songs because I try my best to love myself and to improve and grow in myself

      self aprecciation takes a long ass time, since the pandemic started i was at a really shitty place in my life, after what feels like an eternity but its only 3 years, i feel a lot better and i know i can get even further, exercising and eating healthy home cooked meals came a long way for myself, probably my blood exams were fucked from drinking and eating like shit everyday a while back but damn, i actually feel alive in during my normal ass routine

    As a guy who loves heavy metal, i absolutely love this song. The positive vibes, the catchy chorus. Riffs almost have a Polyphia-esque vibe to them. It all just flows so well. Awesome song!

    I’m not sure if it’s the chorus or the lyrics, but this is my favorite song Beartooth has put out since something off Aggressive. You can tell Caleb is happy and having fun with it too

    I want more pop influenced "core" stuff. Issues was the standard, Sleep Token has some great darker pop songs which got me into them back in 2019. More guitars as an accessory vs focus
    Nightlife. is another good band like that.

    Song is fire 🔥 and yea we need more positivity in metal! We Came As Romans used to be the band known for having a positive message in the scene back when they did their first 2 albums which in my opinion are 2 of the best metalcore albums ever made!

      We Came As Romans used to be known for having a positive message, and their first 2 albums, ‘To Plant a Seed’ and Understanding What We’ve Grown to Be’ a straight heat and are straight positive in every song!

    Beartooth is one of the best bands I've ever seen live; not only for the music, but because the environment felt so positive. I'm so happy to see Caleb's self improvement and I welcome the birth of the new genre of metal: Healthcore

    loveless, dayseeker, rain city drive, slaves, awaken i am, too close to touch, catch your breath. all semi-popular bands that have songs that kinda fit in the same category as this (so maybe heavy pop rock) not that genre matters much anymore but if u like the vibe there u go.

    I agree that we need more positive metal-adjacent music. The "breakdown" was a highlight for me because instead of being a "break stuff because I'm angry" moment, it felt more like a jump for joy, high-five your friend, kind of moment of celebration.
    Other "recent" happy moments in heavier music I've seen recently: 1. Dayseeker "Afterglow". After a very sad and depressing reflection of Rory losing his father, the album ends in a very hopeful major key celebration of the joy he gets when he thinks of his daughter. 2. Sleep Token "Euclid". Vessel flips the script on "The Night Does Not Belong to God"--a statement in the negative, and revises it to "The Night Belongs to You" and the song shifts to a major key. After the long and dysfunctional journey of that album, it ends on a very empowering and hopeful feeling that the horizon is a bright one.
    What other examples can you guys think of?

      @thebuckethatguy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bro, Afterglow (Hazel’s Song) by Dayseeker is one of the most beautiful songs in existence!

      Don know the meanings of the songs because I don’t pay attention to lyrics, but check We Came as Ronans’ first 2 albums ‘To Plant a Seed’ and ‘Understanding What We’ve Grown to Be’! We Came As Romans was known for being the band with a positive message back then!

  • @azure8696
    @azure8696 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is cool and a breath of resh air, however you can make songs with positive lyrics and still have the instruments be heavy, nasty and down right just filthy at the same time too. I do agree and prefer positive heavy over sad boy heavy.

    Ive played guitar for 3/4 of my somehow young life. Our whole generation was ruined by nümetal and its sadness. Him and fhe guitarists are going back to their roots. Its jazz in 2023, i aint gonna be racist about it but it came from a spot that i didn't... Jimmy Page admitted the same thing and it's them embracing jazz guitar riffs and r&b singing. This song hits for me hard tbh

    not sure I agree with most of the music in our genre being depressing and a put down to yourself. but actually following through like Caleb has done over the past 4 years or so is a great message for people. shit may not be easy but if you stay consistent you will get there one day.
