Love the detailed video. I have the same exact laptop but with i7. Now in task manager under performance tab, in the memory it says "slots used: 1 of 4" but as you showed the laptop has only 1. What am I missing here? Also Is it necessary to get the same ddr3 (my laptop is also ddr3) or can I change to ddr4?

I have seen ones with the same spec, but they say 1866MHZ, for example HyperX Fury, 8GB DDR3L, 1866MHZ, for desktop RAM memory. HX318LC10FB/8CL10 1.35v PC3L-14900U Black AD38. @@uFixTek Thank you. So apparently I have the 15IBD, it already has 8GB. But I didnt use it often and now the laptop is very very slow, even when I boot a fresh OS on it. Same with my older Gaming Laptop from 2013. No matter how often I try making it complete new, even with Linux, it cant run any game anymore. Back in 2013, I could play Dishonored 1 on it (3D first person stealth game)
Hi UFIXTEK, thanks for the video. I've upgraded the ram of my Yoga 500 from 4gb to 8gb ddr3l 1600Mhz. It is ok with that, but I also updated the BIOS version from the original BDCN31WW to the new one recomended by Lenovo BDCN71WW and from that moment, no matter what windows i put (7, 8.1, 10 x64) my processor clock multiplier stands at 5x instead 19x. I succeded to downgrade the BIOS variant back to original BDCN31WW, but the problem remains - the processor stands in 5x multiplier. Do you have any suggestions ? It is lenovo yoga 500-14ibd, with a few important settings in BIOS. Thank you - Eugen
its very common in this model that the bios even you downgrade it will has send windows the info, its acting as its throttling, its as issue with this lineup, you can bypass the throttling by installing this: www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-throttlestop/

@@uFixTek I'm back with one important add-on of the multiplier problem: When the laptop is on battery the multiplier is ok (19x), but when you add the charger the multiplier decrease to 5x and so the performance of the laptop.
And finally, after all this "ballet" of upgrading/downgrading the BIOS, I've found the old original charger of the laptop and with this one (instead the bigger new one adapter that i've bought because i didn't find the old one) the laptop works ok on battery and charger. It looks stupid, but that's the fact ...
