  • Let's fire up our 10" saw and cut open a few larger pieces of agatized coral from Florida! Not only are these fossils agatized, but when hit with a ultraviolet light, the hidden details are exposed and we see many unseen bands that are very beautiful!

Agatized Coral, AKA Fossilized Coral, is formed when agate, a form of chalcedony replaces the minerals in coral. This process takes 20-30 million years and is known as pseudomorphic. These fossils are from the Oligocene-Miocene period. Agatized Coral is between 38-25 million years old. (google)
