Thanks Darren. The body cleaned up ok. It’s my wonky old 1Dx that just about works still so it had to have it🤣 It cleaned up ok. I then remembered I’ve a remote cover at home🤪
Thanks for that Mark, awesome footage and images. You really captured the whole essence of Rallying. Forest rallies just create a great atmosphere, I love the way the sound reverberates around the trees..the mud and the water you can't beat it..!
Great images, cant imagine all electric rallying ,no smell , no anticipation of the cars arriving as they change down the gearbox to arrive where you are standing .
Great video again Mark. I was invited to take pics at the World Rally championships when I was in Australia, great fun, very dry and dusty, love your images of the cars passing through the puddles. Like you say, good to do something different. Good luck with cleaning your camera 😀
Really pleased you enjoyed your visit to the NORTH Yorkshire rally , fantastic content as usual . Was all a bit doom and gloom at work on the Monday morning , though it was a few points in the bag for Nick and Dave in the RSD Fiat 131 we expected better ! . A trip to the dyno revealed a 20% power loss so then the investigations began . Hope to have a better result on the next round ( Rally North Wales 16th March ) . I've been sent some stage maps for next weekends East Riding Stages , I could forward you them ( but not sure how ? ) .
Was a great day back on the Rally scene, it’s been far too long away from it all! The Fiat looked and sounded on song past us first stage. We were on jcn3 of Wass so only just getting warm really! Sounds like plenty of tinkering in the engine bay then after the dyno run, fingers crossed you find the gremlin! Would be great to have a peak at the plans for next week. We are planning to pop up for a look😉👍🏻 Email - kertonphotographic@gmail.com
I used to use Lexar professional XQD cards but they stopped making them…. Never had an issue with them great cards, I use Sony XQD now and to be fair they are good too. Would buy Lexar again if they started producing them again. Great video Mark and some fantastic shots. I’m at a Porsche track day event soon at silverstone… working the day job but might get chance to shoot some cars fingers crossed 🤞🏻
Great video Marl can't beat a bit of Rallying, not sure that I would be down on one knee though 😉 I am off to Race Retro at Stoneleigh 24/25th Feb lots of lovely Group B Rally Cars flying around a few live stages you should pop along?
Awesome as always, mark what are that remote things called for putting to shutters on 2 cameras off called I like that wouldn’t mind trying it as a newbie something different to try out 👍👍👍👍👍
There’s a pair on eBay… www.ebay.co.uk/itm/145618466340?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=uoIs7TXYR32&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=YxMFYZm9T46&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Just hearing the sounds is an adrenaline rush , been to a couple , but not for a long time , superb Mark . I have a couple of questions : How do you activate the remote shots , by shutter or trigger ( brilliant by the way , did you get the camera and lens cleaned up ) . How do you set the camera for video .
Thanks Roy, it was certainly great to be back on the rally scene for sure! The video footage is actually from my iPhone, which I set up in front of where we were standing. Although, the 1Dx is very good at video, too, just switch the toggle at the back near the eye piece and you are in video mode. Then hit the manual function button, tiny button on the top to the left of the shutter button and it records. Trigger wise, simply hit the shutter button on my camera in my hand and it triggers the remote camera. Thanks for watching Mate and I hope you are keeping well.
Awesome footage Mark, I'd be crying if my Canon 7d mkII got that dirty, suppose it's what you have to do to get the perfect shots.

Thanks Martin. Was great to get back on the rally scene. Hopefully more Forest rally’s to come this year👍🏻

as a rally photographer, its nice to see you are in it! Love to see you more in dirt :)
Hii Mark! Brilliant images! Cheers
18:04 looks like it could use a good run through the washing machine. 🤣
Luckily cleaned up ok👍🏻
Looks fun. Always fancied doing some rally photography. The famous driver - Roger Clarke lived local to me often saw him in local pubs.
