    A word from Stu-
Saab Unleashed is a channel which started over lockdown and has evolved into a mixture of Saab-related shinanigans, car infotainment stuff and in-car tech reviews.
I've been doing these reviews for a couple of years now. The reviews are always based on my personal opinion and are NOT paid for by the manufacturers. This should be fairly obvious because I always talk about any negative points of products.
Sometimes I buy head units to review; sometimes I reach out to manufacturers asking them to provide me with a head unit to review, and sometimes they reach out to me. It is important to me that everyone knows that these free products will never change the outcome of my opinion, or the head unit final scores. If there are issues, believe me, everyone will know!
My intention is to ultimately create detailed, honest and matter-of-fact reviews for consumers and enthusiasts, not advertisements for the manufacturers.
Nowadays, I try to use affiliate links in the video descriptions wherever possible. Most of them are not affiliate links, but there are some, such as those directing to Amazon or eBay. This means that if you use one of my links to buy something, I might receive somewhere between 1-5% of the value of your purchase from the retailer (obviously no cost to you).
I set this up because running this channel costs money via video editing software, music licencing, (not to mention buying head units and most of my evenings and weekends!) and I don't get paid for the reviews.
Anyway, I appreciate all of my viewers and subscribers and I am open to any suggestions you might have for me to improve the content.

That volt meter is actually quite useful too. If you turn the key to 'on' but don't start the vehicle, the volts display will show you what the battery is outputting so you can check for a battery that may be getting close to replacement (anything under about 12.2V is considered weak), and if you start the vehicle then this will show what the _alternator_ is outputting so you can see if it's about to go out (less than about 12.6V). You can maybe catch an issue before it gets you stranded on the side of the road.

@@JustWasted3HoursHere I had the set of three so voltage, oil temp and oil pressure and having that extra information just helped with looking after and driving the car - not giving it beans until the oil had warmed up for example. Often cars now don’t even have a water temp gauge

@@nuttycommuter3718Back when I drove a gas powered car I found those gauges very useful indeed. Now I have an electric car (a 2018 Kia Soul EV+) and it always does a system check of everything including the 12V accessory battery on startup. Very useful because even EVs can have problems if the 12V goes bad!

Awesome idea and implementation - NOW I'm free of the messing USB cables running all the place.
One note though: on 2001 9-5 Aero, there's no "torx screw" to loosen up as mentioned in the video's 1st step. One needs to slide the "vent assembly" slightly up and over from the bottom till it comes loose of the retaining hinges.
And then "wiggle" it slightly to have fully come off of the console to gain access to the back of it.
Other than that, it's a great addition - highly appreciate and highly recommend!

I have a 2007 Australian spec 9-3 Aero with a CC2 Plus installed. A connected, dual USB socket insert for the blank switch position that's just to the right of the head unit space would be high on my must have list. I think that it's where the convertible has the switch for the rag top.

Am looking to get a Saab 93 convertible 03-09 in petrol.
Have you heard anything about the ECU frying in hot weather because its placed just above the engine ?
A want to do a euro trip next year where the temperature can get 35-40 degrees.
Apparently theres heat mats available to place under the ECU so it don't over heat ?

Me neither and I just arrived back from a 1600 mile (2574km) trip from Washington State to California and back running for hours at 80MPH (128KMH) with temps peaking at 105°F (41°C). Saabs are amazing. Not a drop of oil burned with 157,000 miles on the odometer and 31 MPG (13 km/liter.) I maintain it well and it has never let me down.
Great gadget video! Amazing. We are so fortunate to have you bringing us so many ways to make our Saabs better! Seriously, you could be an enthusiast for any car, but you chose Saabs and we all benefit from that.

My ECU didn’t start to fail until I hit 328k miles/528k km. It started going into limp mode for no reason. I wouldn’t be concerned with the heat at all. It may fail, it may not. I’m almost at 16 years now with my Saab, take care of it and it will take care of you.
