Great vid, thanks! These 9-5’s are quite underrated and greatly appreciated by those that knows and owns them. Personally love the ‘02-‘05 MY’s the best!
A friend of mine has a Saab 900 Turbo with 360k miles on the clock and no work done on the engine other than servicing. It does not burn oil and runs like new. These cars are extremely well built
Can't really go wrong with a Saab, I had a 9-3ss, now I have two classic 900s. A 900 Turbo and a 900 xsi, There is just something about Saabs. Not sure what it is, but they just feel special.
What a sweet video and Combi! I bought a 2008 9-5 sedan six years ago with 61,450 on the clock for $10,500 US. Now have 98,000 miles. This 9-5 has been an absolute pleasure. Not once has it left me stranded. Between the original owner and myself, the total spent on parts, labor, fluids, wear parts and preventative maintenance has been $2,700. That's in combined 11 years of ownership. The only non-wear parts that we replaced were the heater bypass valve and throttle body. I changed subframe bushings, exhaust, rotors, pads, o2 sensor and PVC Valve and Direct Ignition Cassette and NGK Iridium plugs at 62,000 miles. All Mobile 1 every 3,000 miles since new. Transmission fluid changed ever 3rd oil change. Hoses and belts at 72,000 miles. Two radiator flushes...totally preventative. The Mitsubishi TD04 turbocharger is known to last 200,000+ miles. Same with the timing chain.
@@BleeCarswell So far, so good! Another thing that was key to buying my 2008 9-5...safety! Widely reported that the 9-5 is the best safety structure of any vehicle ever mass produced.
I had a similar experience last year when I went from a 2006 Fiat Panda 1.2 to a 2006 Honda Accord 2.0 sedan. Being single, it’s way too big for my needs, but it’s just such a damn good car. The drivetrain is epic... Calm at low speeds, powerful when needed, but always oh so smooth and effortless. Gotta love good engineering! Nice video. Keep up the good work 👍
I loved my "Dame Edna" Aero saloon. Long since sold, but the abiding memory of those 2 years and 40k was the comfort and the mid range torque. So addictive. Enjoy :-)
I bought an identical Aero a few years back for £450 - my 8th Saab. It had 225k miles on the clock and I would regularly treat it the full fat 0-60 run. I never actually timed it, but it certainly felt like a sub 7 seconds. Huge fun, especially as they don't look like a fast car. Enjoy!
I bought a 2006 95 Aero Combi in 2013 and traded it for a new Insignia estate because I couldn't get insurance but I found the exact car a year later and bought it back. I regret selling it as it does everything we need. It's been from Ireland to Venice, took us round Switzerland and there is NOTHING better for a long run with a young family. Parts are easy to get, original parts are no problem. It's easy to see out of, RIDICULOUSLY comfortable and pretty quick.
Hi, Really liked your 3 SAAB videos so far and hope you do more. My 2001 9-5 estate is my very first car. I could relate to you comparing a small hatch vs a luxury cruiser. I had to dig my heels in because friends and some family seemed to think I was buying into expensive trouble. Insurance for me (19yo female) was actually not too crazy but by then it was too late of course because I had seen my beautiful SAAB for sale and had asked the seller to reserve it for me with a deposit. It is Stone gray has aero alloys, leather seats and climate and cruise and amazing stereo and just the most secure and comfortable ride ever. Although I passed my test in a manual this is automatic and that has really helped me as I get used to driving a big car. The previous owner of my car was an enthusiast also and he spent a long time making sure I knew how to look after the car properly and what oil to use et cetera. I loved your camper conversion video also, it really made me smile and I think it was such a good idea but I might use it in future. Anyway, best wishes and you have my thanx and subscription. Cassi (Bath, UK) x
Cassandra Sheridan Hey thanks for watching! Wow getting something this big as a first car is a brave move, well done for getting what you wanted though. I hope it serves you well, sounds like you bought a good example 🚗💨👍
I love your enthusiasm and know exactly how you feel, Blee. With five 95's behind me, each one put a big grin on my face. Impeccably mannered cars, with no handling surprises, although the estates can have an appetite for tyres if you speed fully loaded. Full service, whilst not essential is desirable, as the oil MUST be synthetic. But the previous enthusiast owner obviously knew all that and provided you with a peach.
I subbed the second you said im going to camp in it. My Son and I went on tour last summer, around Europe in my 2004 9-5.....2.500 miles in a week and 250k on the clocks. We put a double inflatable mattress in the back and i can tell you we slept like babies and awoke to fantastic views each morning. I fixed two lengths of thin flexable tongue and groove together to wedge in the tailgate opening to stop the mattress getting trapped in the lock....worked a treat. Your right about it being the best looking estate btw. Had mine for 10 years....can't get rid of him...too many great memories. Good luck with your aero.👍
Great video! I currently a 2003 SAAB 9-5 wagon/estate. I would not trade it for anything else. I know of no other car with such a long list standard features that would come close to the value, and fun, of my SAAB. Here in Florida, you spend a lot of time driving on highways to get anywhere. The SAAB is an amazing touring car in terms of fuel efficiency, comfort, and fun. Cheers.
This engine actually has over 260 horsepower stock, it has been benched to produce almost 280 hp stock, which is pretty unbeliavable. Torque is also higher than factory suggests. Also I highly recommend getting the e85 flexifuel tune, which takes you to almost 300.
change the taillights to the pre facelift ones, imo the look so many times better :D much love from a fellow saab owner in sweden also you can get around 275 hp with a tune
Cool review. Got a 2000 2.0 SE sedan, green and beige leather. Like it a lot. Paid double the money, but only got 130,000 miles, first 6 years, 6,000 miles in total. Person who bought it after 6 years, built immidiately an LPG installation of Prins in it. Great combination, since the car is not that fuel efficient, and LPG cost about 35% of regular petrol. And the engine, that is the 2 liter and 2.3 liter, run excellent on LPG. No extra lubrication needed. Did the modification to prefent sludge, a regular problem around 130,000 miles, but sludge is less an issue when driving LPG, LPG keeping the oil cleaner. Be aware to use the right spark plugs. A mechanic who I expected the have knowledge of the right spark plugs, did mount wrong ones (cheap Bosch). It killed the cassette with the bombines. I was Lucky to find a used replacement. New one about 400 pounds. A used one seems, I have been told, that it is not only for the money a better option. Right spark plugs? Go to a specialist, he will know. And there are enough carmechanics around who specialize in Saab.
@@lillymay5854 I looked at one the other day the oil was sludge the interior stank I didn’t even bother checking the coolant or test drive. Was polite and walked away. He wanted 5k
Great Choice of car! Saab is probably the only car manafacturer that really did care about safety and quality! But that's also what made them go broke sadly...
Great car, I personally own a 2002 9-5 Aero (also Wagon). One thing I noticed directly is that you’re missing the roof spoiler on it (can even see the holes on top of the back of the car for it to be mounted in), normally it being a Aero it would have that spoiler there. You really should find a used one in the same colour to complete it :)
Sweet wagon. I had a 99" I sold a year ago with 210K still ran like a top not without repairs but hey it was 20 years old and Id take it over any other car on the road today. A shame you guys didnt get the sunroof like here in the states its way nicer driving in the country...
I had a 9-5 3.0 TiD. As you say the interior was great, loved the cupholder , the night mode and where the seat belt sign was. The bad bits was when I went to service it! Air filter under the wheelarch and the oil filter needed a special tool to get the damn thing off. It was a lovely cruiser but understeered like a pig! After 5000 miles the engine seized but as I only paid £541 for it thats ok.
You cannot buy a better car for the money I had a 2004 9-5 aero saloon manual Brought with 130000 miles and sold it with 190000 miles never missed a beat sevice regularly and you cannot go wrong I sold mine for a 2011 bmw 5series the saab was a miles better. As for mpg mine ran at around 30mpg no matter how I drove it . And with 250 bhp that ain't bad. As for sludge and psv these were sorted at this age. Don't worry about giving it some beans. It can take it even with those miles. I miss mine crazy best car I've ever had. And puts alot of even new German cars to shame
Greetings from Sweden. I had a 2003 95 Aero estate nordic tuned to 350bhp, i now own a 2007 95 Aero automatic. Best thing for your Saab is to change the oil every Spring and before winter, try running her on a high octane fuel and you´ll be in for a treat regarding performance, Let me know if you have any questions regarding your Aero, or go to Saab turbo club of Sweden ,there´s a hole network of Saab nerds there. Cheers.

@@eleonik76 Saab didn't go bankrupt. GM didn't have a clue what to do with Saab and on the 3rd time of telling Saab to re-skin a Vauxhall and Saab ignoring them again, GM pulled the plug.
@@GordonBenny Yes it did. GM sold Saab off to Spyker and after a while, Saab Automobile did indeed go under. It was then purchased by NEVS but they almost went under as well and lost the rights to the Saab brand, which is owned by SAAB AB, a different company. They manufacture security and defense products such as fighter jets.
They are fabulous. I’m over the moon with my Aero too. Proper sleeper. Very fast when it needs to be. Really comfortable. Thirsty certainly but you couldn’t drive to John O’Groats in one go and get out fresh as a daisy in some of the more modern cars. This one can. Great review, great car.
Not surprising you like the Saab I owned three classic 900 models a while ago and absolutely loved them so I'm feeling a bit sad now wishing I still had a Saab. These cars were really solidly built and good to drive, I always wanted the 900turbo 16v aero years ago but never could afford one unfortunately but still loved the ones I had. Have to say it was one of the saddest days of my life when Saab went under they were underrated cars and had a very loyal customer base but that's life I guess anyway enjoy the 9-5 beast and good luck!
absolutely its one of the nicest wagons on the market...in 2011 anyway. I wouldn't worry about the miles, a friend of mine bought one new in Amsterdam as a taxi, replacing his BMW 5 series. He now has 648,000 km's Those I might add are hard kilometers, not the average commuter a bloody taxi racing down crazy streets passing cyclists by inches... its amazing how these cars last under such duress everyday for six years. Not sure why this hasn't reached our shores because riding in a six year old Camry or a crown vic over a saab (-5 wagon or another 5 series BMW. They swear by them and I can see why...they last. Its too late now, the next taxi he is going to buy is a Tesla or the e-Camry. It only makes sense.. NYC Taxi, owned by the city should ave switched to the e-Camry two years ago...... Im an idiot... e years instead of haphazardly mixing manufacturers .. What am I talking about...sorry. Yes indeed.... still to this day my favorite car, within a decent price range would be a 92 Saab SPG three door. Killer engine, amazing turbo, that car told you when it was happy, it truly did. Incredible ride, tons of power and its larger than a volvo wagon with the seats down...a great car indeed. Money and parts... Id hunt down a Audi A8 200 to 06 great price, great car. same gors with the 735 or 740's fabulous rides for the buck.. 99 to 2008. Three great cars you can buy for a song.
BRILLIANT buy I'm looking for one right now! I've got a very low mileage Saab 93 aero convertible on a 53 plate which is in very nice condition with only 91,000 miles on the full service history engine pulls very well indeed but due to me now having a dog I need to get something more practical a great buy you've got there
I'm shop foreman at a euro shop, we work on just about everything European. Saab is the only vehicle that we work on that we almost NEVER have to go inside of the engine. Just simple oil leaks, vacuum hoses and sensor failures. Never anything major unless abuse is involved. The 9440 9-3's are great cars too. Hopped up Ecotec makes for a bulletproof stock engine.
When I saw a 95 aero for sale here in Canada, I watched your video and was almost excited about buyingbit as you were. So, I thought I'll give it a shot (rather than paying 2x the money for a used diesel Jetta, my previous favorite) I have owned my 95 aero for 5 months now and couldn't be more pleased. I agree with all the things you said, have joined all the saab clubs, and I think if I had the money and the space, I would become a saab hoarder 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for this video!!!
Recently sold a 2001 auto version that had done 300,000 km and got a 2015 BMW 118d Sports. Boy do I regret it. BMW isn’t as fuel efficient as the specs lead you to believe, right is uncomfortably sporty. That looks a really nice one you got there and couldn’t agree more with your comments. The auto is even more of a luxo-cruiser for when you want a comfy lazy drive, but still has pep if you want it. Carry’s heaps too.
Shame that you've been left disappointed! I wasn't picky about which gearbox I had at this budget, but having lived with it for a while I feel an auto would be better suited to the car.
The 9-5 Aeros are Great cars and Very reliable and well built, ive allways had at least one, and currently have a saloon and also a 9-3 v6 aero convertible, however the 9-5s are the most reliable and well built and very comfortable as mentioned and practical cars with great performance!
GORGEOUS. Finding one of those 04-05 5spd Estates on our US side of the pond is near impossible, especially in that condition! I love, love my 2000 Aero, but yours can certainly make one covet thy neighbors Saab.
You can run around 310hp at 20psi but that's the limit on a stock bottom end. And perfectly good for nearly all real world driving situations. Obviously change the exhaust from the turbo back! Get it set up properly on a rolling road and only use Shell V-Power and you'll be fine. You might also opt for an aftermarket boost controller. Also a good little trick, crank the preload right up on the actuator - so much more responsive!
The thing with the Saab 9-5 wagon is that is more soundproof then the sedan and has a bit better fuel economy. I do prefer the drive of the wagon over the sedan. I envy your buy.. Even that it's an older car.. Hopefully you have a really good time with the car one more thing.
Loving this one thanks for sharing very important information giving thanks blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work lol would love to get my hands on one had the hatch back 93 been looking for a wagon every since 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
i had an 05 9-3 aero saloon remapped from 210bhp to 260bhp and ive never had more fun in a car he's right saab's are sleepers comfy as hell and go like rockets! unfortunately i had to let go of mine for something that cost less to run :( i would deffo look into getting another saab though!
Im gonna get me one next year, Got the 9-3 SS tuned 2.0 205hp 312nm Can make it faster 230hp 320nm But i Wanna save my engine and cluth / gearbox Got 360k km on it and it drives like New. Super smooth 2500rpm at 120km/h 3500rpm at 170km/h You can do a 200km/h 4000rpm Amazing to be a withness of these kinda cars.
Dra Dikketrip Man after my own heart! I have 2 9-3 Aeros... my 2007 convertible (last of that gen) is tweaked to 247bhp 388nm BUT the big fun comes from the last gen twin turbo diesel which is now running 215bhp 450nm. The 'vert is a manual, handling the extra power really well with no clutch or box problems.. the diesel is auto which means I didnt have to upgrade there, those boxes are strong! Many thanks to Abbott Racing for work & advice!
Exceiptonal cars these. Mine's a lowly 2.0t I inherited from my father and brought back to France. I love it to bits. I'm seriously thinking about handing ot down to my son and finding one like yours because they are dirt cheap compared to the very rare and generally abused examples we find on the French market. Subscribed!
Second hand cars are way too expensive here. But they seem abnormally low in the UK. I put this down to it being more expensive to run a car in the UK (road tax, pricy insurance ...) and also a smaller overall market because it's tough to sell an RHD car in LHD continental Europe. Good news for expats like me 😉.
I have owned a 2004 SAAB 9.5 TDI for the last 5 years ,has done 192.000.miles and has passed its MOT,S 5 years in a row with same minors advisers. It's big, very comfy, nice looking ,safe, and is black! Being a Diesel, it has a lot of tork and going up the long hills ,it just keeps accelerating .That's my second Saab, the first one being a Saab EMS. LOVE IT.
I've always had a bit of a thing for Saabs, but never had the opportunity to drive or own one until last week. Yes, I splashed 600 quid on a 2004 9-5 Aero estate auto. It is absolutely wonderful to drive. I love the easy , effortless way the car just gets on with it. It might be thirsty, there might be the odd leak here and there, but it's my thirsty, leaky, luxo-barge...
Very nice 95 Aero Wagon model year 2005. It's the 2nd best year probably, after 2004. It's relatively loaded with equipment :) but there's still something to be desired, like autodimming mirrors, ventilated seats, harman/kardon sound system, CD changer, sliding trunk floor, etc etc. It's enormously practical car, good looking and I have a 1999 and 2001 example of the same, amongst other ~10 SAABs. Even thoug I have older iconic classics or newer powerhouses 2.8V6, 95 Aero remains my most loved model as for the feelings I have in the car and the perception of performance versus what the car really is. Torque gets me :) every time.
Thanks for watching! Since filming this I did some research and I think my car is a fairly poor optioned car! But like you say it's a practical, good looking car with very good performance so I'm not about to start moaning haha :)
@@BleeCarswell many later (2002+ facelift) Aeros were less equipped than pre-facelift versions, apart from option for autodimming of outer mirrors and their folding. Seat ventilation or rear seat heating, even the HK sound system were less and less used, not sure why. You should be happy for not having that navigation, but a normal radio there :) which still dates the interior less than oudated touchscreen tech :D otherwise it really seems like a decent car, definitely when considering the mileage. As for the fuel consumption, maybe check vacuum hoses + one-way valves, replace spark plugs, change the oxygen "lambda" sensor and clean mass airflow sensor. Then reset ECU by unplugging power for 15+ minutes. I believe you should see pretty positive results with those things renewed.
Cool car. The 9-5 AeroX was a car I considered buying a few years ago. Unfortunately at this time it was still a bit too expensive and I bought a SLK 230K (R170). I hope it will serve you well.
@@BleeCarswell There were several cars I was interested in and my criteria were clear and simple: Good looking and (relatively) fast in a straight line :) I was not interested in boot space or handling. It should not drive like a boat but cornering speed was not first priority. So I looked for Saab (9-3 and 9-5), Skoda (Octavia and Superb), Mercedes (C, E, CLK and SLK) some BMWs and Hondas. Some of these were too expensive, other too boring. So I decided to take the SLK because I thought a convertible will be cool. But it only was for the first months :) Nevertheless it was a good decision. I had the car for 5 years and never had any problems with it.
You are 100% 😁👍its a very Good får, if you check oil .. you can have it for many years....i have drive 1000 000 km Saab and i Will drive Saab as long as i can....Swedish kvalité
dont own a 9-5 myself but i would do, (i have a modified 9000) have driven a few tho, would say they are as good as 9000s, yes i do prefer the 9000 over any saab.
I have a 2006 wagon and took the rear seat out to be able to get all my carpentry tools in. It is my daily driver. May I ask why you scrapped yours? I love the way this car drives and how compact it is. If it ever breaks down I need to go back to my chevy express 3500....to big for Key West island traffic.
Torque is limited in first and second because all you'd get is wheelspin. Third and up is unlimited and the manual transmission gets 20 seconds of overboost that would have broken the Aisin 5-speed automatic. If it feels a bit low on power when hot, replace the large white vacuum check valve and attached black pipe leading to the left side inlet to the PCV catch can and you're good for another 60,000 miles. (Because it's a Saab, lots of other things will go wrong in that time but the 2004-5 have everything worked out that they could possibly work out.) For 2006-9 GM cheapened the interior with the exception of the seats, and the 2010-11 is a full-on GM car with few parts available. I love mine but I definitely wouldn't want to buy fuel for it in Britain. Since I've had both I know that the manual gets at least 6 mpg more than the automatic so that's something. RIP Saab.
Next thing drop the oilpan and clean it... Subframe bushes... What else... Maybe timing chain is ready to be changed, lots of typical things in these cars at that milage. But not bad at all for that money and the car seems to be on nice shape for milage 😊
Really enjoyed the video! I've got an 05 aero sharktooth saloon, and if you think the estate is rapid; then you should feel the slightly more athletic thinner brother! The reason that 1st and 2nd feel as lethargic compared to 3rd and 4th; is because Saab limited the torque in those gears to stop people like me ripping the gearbox apart hehe! I've been told that a decent set of tires, the bilstein b12 kit and an updated rear anti roll bar can transform the 9-5 chassis into having some highly impressive road holding abilities! Check out Abbott Racing if you want to get an idea of how tunable these cars are; though I'm sure you have heard of them of you've had a Saab before. Keep up the videos!
400.000 and still going, even the body work has zero rust, mercs of the same period where littered with rust, proving that saabs are better built than mercedes.
The only thing it proves is that tree huggers are twats as that was what forced Mercedes to change to waterbased paint. Secondly, I have sat in both brands of this period and the Mercedes was far superior in terms of build quality. There wasn't a rattle in the Mercedes. In the Saab all the buttons had lost their coating the exterior plastics had faded. Moreover, the Saab is little more than a Vauxhall in a dress.
Colm Farrel Lol! Sharing a chassis & some wiring, a Vauxhall does not make! Also did Vauxhall make 4 wheel steering? Saab ReAxs rear wheel steering system, fitted to EVERY 93 from 2003... I`m eating M sports & same level Mercs all day long in my TTiD Aero in a straight line or in the country twisty bits....& as for buttons... Do not get me started on that era Merc "soft buttons"... they last well, don`t they? & water based paint has fuck all to do with Mercs rusting, that`s what happens when you sell out & let the Yanks do your bodywork.... Saab mad since they introduced the 900 Turbo, I only had my head turned by Merc once... 2005 CL 500, saw one, wanted one! 6 months later I traded it in for a Hirsch 95 hot. Window motors, soft touch buttons, hydraulic suspension, keyless go & more... all failed, thankfully whilst under warranty...This is Merc`s flagship we are talking about & it was only 5 years old at the time... could not wait to get shot of it!
@@brobno9 You're chatting rubbish in terms of performance and handling a BMW leaves a Saab in the dust all the day long. This is coming from someone that doesn't particularly like BMW's and wouldn't buy one. BMW are known for performance and you can't take that away from them. Trying to argue otherwise is pure delusion. A mate of mine actually had a 9-3/Vectra from brand new and replaced with BMW 3 series says it all really. Never owned a Saab, but i once bought a Volvo Estate with 8 months MOT and a quarter of a million miles on the clock for £35. When first driving it, i felt like captain of the Enterprise, my previous car having been a Mini (original)
A bit of leather cleaner and some hide food will make the driver's seat look a whole lot better and should bring it back to looking pretty much new. 250,000 miles isn't much for SAAB seats as, given that the car gets a little care, they can still look and feel great well past 500,000 miles...
@Phil Earl That would probably work out cheaper than off-the-shelf cleaners and hide food, and be a lot stronger being designed for saddles and horse tack...
I drive a 2001 9-5 2,0t estate and i LOVE it. It’s sadly only the 150hp so it’s not that fast but it’s really well built and really comfy. Very reliable too and i need it to be because i drive very much. Mine is the 4-speed auto which suits the character of the car brilliantly, the gears are very long too. It revs 4000 at 200kph, mine tops out at about 215kph on flat ground (i have tried, yes.) and downhill i’ve done 245kph. Felt just as stabile and relaxed at those speeds as it does at 90kph.
Nice video. Keep up the good work 👍
Sounds good, I dont know much about Accords if im honest. Thanks for watching!

Don't you mean Vauxhall?
@Chaminda Thushara Ruwan Kasturi Saab is a Vauxhall in a dress.
huge tuning potential these things has, in sweden you can get stage 3 with around 315hp 440nm for 1266,41 pounds
Wow, sounds good! Thanks for watching.
I loved my "Dame Edna" Aero saloon. Long since sold, but the abiding memory of those 2 years and 40k was the comfort and the mid range torque. So addictive. Enjoy :-)
Does "dame Edna" refer to the newer models with the questionable light design haha?
@@BleeCarswell it does indeed 😉
Good to know you liked Saab enough to buy another! Yeah I was surprised to learn how readily available the parts are 👍
@@BleeCarswell I bought the same car back.
@@theworldaccordingtochris4370 Ah yes my bad, even better then haha. Thanks for watching!
Hi,
Really liked your 3 SAAB videos so far and hope you do more.
Thanks for the commnet. Fingers crossed it serves me well! :)
Great review. I've had my 2001 Aero to 135 mph before the stage 3 boost to 305 hp. It is insane now.
Wow I bet it flys!
Thanks pal! Sounds like you've had lots of good memories in yours!
They have amazing engines, that one looks mint..
Cheers.

Had a 2.3 se estate 185 bhp. Plymouth to Scotland, (Renton) 36 mpg. Cracking vehicles.
Thinking of buying one of these. Thanks for the excellent review, no thumping music or foul language just great info from your experience.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
This engine actually has over 260 horsepower stock, it has been benched to produce almost 280 hp stock, which is pretty unbeliavable. Torque is also higher than factory suggests. Also I highly recommend getting the e85 flexifuel tune, which takes you to almost 300.
Attack444 444 thanks for watching, I’ll have a look into that!
change the taillights to the pre facelift ones, imo the look so many times better :D much love from a fellow saab owner in sweden
also you can get around 275 hp with a tune
I'm not sure which I prefer! Thanks for watching mate!
Amazing job in the video, keep up on the great work!

Lovely car mate, just change the oil(5w30)+filter every 5-6k and the engine should stay sweet.

Great review! I really enjoyed your enthusiasm. Very cool car.
Thanks for watching!
Ah good spot! I think the owner took it off to put on his other (very low mileage) example!
When accelerating briskly the torque is limited in first gear so not to stress the gearbox. Midrange this engine is a beauty!
They do sound annoyingly placed for a service item. Glad you got to enjoy it while it lasted :)
You cannot buy a better car for the money
I had a 2004 9-5 aero saloon manual
Brought with 130000 miles and sold it with 190000 miles never missed a beat sevice regularly and you cannot go wrong
I sold mine for a 2011 bmw 5series the saab was a miles better.

Yeah, you might buy it for even 100 P,but wait till the first major maintenance comes..then you see why Saab went bankruptcy...
All very true! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the comment. There is just something about a Saab!

absolutely its one of the nicest wagons on the market...in 2011 anyway.
Thats reassuring to know! Thanks for watching.
When I saw a 95 aero for sale here in Canada, I watched your video and was almost excited about buyingbit as you were. So, I thought I'll give it a shot (rather than paying 2x the money for a used diesel Jetta, my previous favorite)

Glad you took the plunge, I hope it serves you well!
One feature that you didn't mention was the spot-on ergonomic ratio of the right elbow/door cap/steering wheel spatial configuration.

Those are two very different cars aha. What made you go for the SLK? Thank you 👍
@@BleeCarswell There were several cars I was interested in and my criteria were clear and simple: Good looking and (relatively) fast in a straight line :)
I was not interested in boot space or handling. But it only was for the first months :)
Nevertheless it was a good decision. I had the car for 5 years and never had any problems with it.

I love the way this car drives and how compact it is. If it ever breaks down I need to go back to my chevy express 3500....to big for Key West island traffic.
I'm amazed at the condition of the car for that price, with that many miles!
Thanks for watching mate!
I have a 9-5 Aero - 00 wagon tuned to 330hp at 2 bar of boost. Ultimate sleeper
Sounds good!
Thanks for the info and for watching! :)
I had a 2.2 diesel tid est I now own a 2.0 automatic petrol areo it has a stage 1 remap and it don’t half shift
IM 640TH subscriber.....we own a 2007 9-5 vector. amazing car
Thanks for the sub!
400.000 and still going, even the body work has zero rust, mercs of the same period where littered with rust, proving that saabs are better built than mercedes.
You do see a lot of rusty mercs of this age. Thanks for watching!
Saab used the same engines as Vauxhall's that's a fact so stop making uneducated arguments. Like I said I've sat in both various Mercedes and Saab's from this period and the Mercedes build quality is far superior it's not debatable. Even at the time of release people were criticising the Saab interior. Like I said the button coatings were all off the Saab's meaning it was a process of trial and error to find the right buttons if you didn't know the car. Again, you're chatting rubbish the W211 E500 which iis basically identical to a cls500 is a reliable motor if looked after properly. Stick to your squeaky squeaky rattly Vauxhall.
@@colmfarrel4742 I said CL NOT CLS dickhead & as for chatting rubbish Vauxhall never fitted Alfa Romeo Bi-Turbo engines as is the one in mine.... & a rear wheel drive car will out handle a front wheel drive 4 wheel steer?? That's why people moth ball M3 & M5s in winter, they're shit...... & you called me uneducated... you just embarrassed yourself you fucking melt!
Never owned a Saab, but i once bought a Volvo Estate with 8 months MOT and a quarter of a million miles on the clock for £35. When first driving it, i felt like captain of the Enterprise, my previous car having been a Mini (original)
Nice motor, I actually prefer this pre-facelift model.
Im biased, but I think they look great!
I agree, I think the "facelift" looks like the front of a truck, or a Nissan SUV.
same. not a fan of the chromes around the headlights. wonder if its possible to change them
@@thomaswojdan9175 I think It's possible to take them off to spray black/whatever colour you like!
I doubt you’d find anyone who prefers the Dame facelift over than the previous generations! They’d have to be a *very* biased 06+ owner!
I have a 9-3 and have to say I love it
Good to hear!
quality honest review :-)
Thanks for watching!
I have the exact same model. Wonderful car.
I put tires and bolstering on mine and it handled better than my friends e46 m3 in stock form
Bilsteins damn autocorrect 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I drive a 2001 9-5 2,0t estate and i LOVE it. It’s sadly only the 150hp so it’s not that fast but it’s really well built and really comfy. Very reliable too and i need it to be because i drive very much. Mine is the 4-speed auto which suits the character of the car brilliantly, the gears are very long too. It revs 4000 at 200kph, mine tops out at about 215kph on flat ground (i have tried, yes.) and downhill i’ve done 245kph. Felt just as stabile and relaxed at those speeds as it does at 90kph. Superb car!
