In my very first interview in Germany for a start-up, the male interviewer asked me if I am married and if I have children and if I plan to have them. It was really awkward and I had no idea whether he was allowed to ask me that. In fact when I told him no, I don't plan to have them because I don't think it's my cup of tea, he replied with 'give it some time, you might change your mind', which again was completely awkward and unnecessary. My inner feminist was flaring up at these unsolicited comments but I had to laugh it off because I needed the job. Thanks for this video, now I know it's illegal to be asked these questions.
Thanks for a nice explanations. I have a question about a working visa. If one has graduated a German University (MSc) already and is doing a second MSc degree again in Germany now. Can this person apply for a job by meaning the first received MSc diploma and apply for a working visa (by quitting the current study) if she/he gets a job contract? Does the Auslanderbehörder give a Working Visa because of the first gained degree or say that the current study also has to be finished to get a proper visa. I hope I could have managed to explain what I mean. Thanks for your reply.
I was asked for my aufenthaltstitel by email from a recruiter. I was not sure if it was legal, but i sent it ...what can I do?? where can i report that? i need help! thank you in advance!
She just mentioned that it is illegal to ask this. Ultimately how your kids are taken care of while you are working is a private matter and has nothing to do with your job description or performance.

Why is it generally mandatory to include a photo, and DOB on a German CV? If you leave those off isn't there a chance they will toss you out?
Thanks for the information. I think this is the first video I watched about the legality of interview questions in Germany. Thumbs up.

Asking if i have kids, their ages and how i plan to take care of them when i secure a Job. Is this ok and what should have been the best answer.
