Adam at Off Premise is killing it! I’m so happy Entre Manos went against chill filtering. I tried a sample of both, and the one that was not chill filtered was outstanding. 🥂

I agree, and I did a video about that, it's not my thing, it takes away flavors. I talked to Jaime the master distiller about that when he came out with his 40 ABV, and I had the impression he felt the same way I did. I guessed he wasn't going to do that the next time, which apparently he didn't. Kudos to him

I was sampling with Yan from Entremanos the other day and he told me they actually have copper coils in the distillation. Excellent juice, especially the new high proof ❤

    Funky like Antanasio funky?

@armandog2866 - hard to explain. It's funky, but not exactly typical malolactic funky. You'll have to try it to see what I mean

I’m looking for a good sipping tequila to pair with cigars. What do you recommend

    • @longislandloutequila7208

Almost any anejo or extra anejo, as most have nice barrel notes. El Tesoro extra anejo, Tears of Llorona, Siete Leguas anejo or XA come to mind amongst many many others

@ I’ll have to look for those, I just bought a bottle of Herradura Añejo. Any good? Does it have additives?

Why is it such a big problem that additives are used in tequilas? In almost every rum (even the fancy bottles) they use caramel for coloring, adding sugars for making it milder/smoother.. but no ones cares about that 🤷🏻‍♂️🙂 same for wines, they use animals substances to make the wine clearer, add sulfates to the wine...no one cares. and in tequilas it's a big thing if something is added :) just curious.. maybe you can educate me. Thanks 🙏🏻🙂
In another video i heard that blancos should never have a fruity taste. Recently i saw a brand that puts the blanco into french cognac casks, which gives the blanco a touch of grape notes.

Hi, definitely not true that Blancos shouldn't have a fruity taste. Additives are subjective, if you don't have a problem with it, that's fine too. I know other spirits use additives, and if people don't have a problem with that, by all means enjoy them. I guess many people in the tequila world are so fed up by having to live with Jose Cuervo Gold for so many years which was loaded with fillers, additives, colorings and flavorings that people are excited that the tequila world has changed, with so many genuine tequilas were being produced.
But unfortunately with inferior brands and celebrity tequila's, additives abound. I guess tequila people are more purests for whatever reasons. I myself obviously consume additives, as we all eat a McDonald's hamburger from time to time but when I'm spending $70, $80 or more on a bottle of tequila, I would prefer it to be traditional and pure. I've heard from some of the world's best producers that tequila is not inherently smooth and sweet, but Americans have a problem, that they all love sugary sweetness and smoothness, so that's a lot of the reason why they have additives, but myself it's not my thing I don't even like soda for that reason, and many people don't want the extra sweetness and the artificial flavorings.
I literally get a headache if there's too much fake sugar in a product like Clase Azul, Adictivo or Casamigos. I prefer a natural tasting tequila because I just love Blanco, and I love real tequila in general and prefer it that way. But again, it's all subjective, and unfortunately lots of people have now gotten used to shity tequila with artificial flavors and they think that's what real tequila is and that's going to take a lot of work to ever change them over, and probably it never will. Without a doubt additives are here to stay, but me and many many other people are going to look for the ones that don't have it in it... it's just our preference

@@longislandloutequila7208 thanks a lot for taking 5 minutes and writing a proper answer to my questions. I appreciate it, and of course I learned from it. Where I grew up (luxembourg europe), we were mostly used to shitty tequilas, even worse than golden jose cuervo. So when i can buy a fancier bottle, I tried to get some of those that youtubers or ig'ers are promoting on their channel. Therefor I also avoid the casamigos :) but i never guessed why tequila enthousiasts wouldn't buy a casamigo but would love to get a diplomatico rum which has plenties of added sugars. Since I got into the "better" bottles of tequila i started to love it. The bad ones from 20 years ago, i still can't drink 'em over here, it makes me puke. So thanks for your effort and for promoting the good stuff 🙏🏻🙂
