Dyson seriously needs to pay you for this video content! Their directions suck so bad they were non existent!!! I learned everything from this video than anything from Dyson! Thank you so much for the is tutorial! Nothing in the box talks about filters and how to clean them!
Please make a video on the complete disassembly of the entire brush head unit, not just taking out the brush bar. It gets very dirty in there and needs to be disassembled to be properly cleaned.
I have been using my new Dyson Ball Animal 3 for only a short time and this morning I inadvertently sucked up a small plush cat toy. I was worried I had caused irreversible damage, but your video showed me where the likely problem was and how to tackle it. It's back to working wonderfully! Thanks so much for this informative video!
Great Vid-more informative than the Dyson (tiny-) manual that came with it. Brush stopped working-removed, cleaned out and now working again, Thanks v. much!
Thank you for a very thorough explanation and demonstration of how to maintain my Dyson Animal 3. Too bad the manufacturers aren't as informative and clear in their instructions.
I just got a bissell PowerForce bagged 1739 on Monday 3-13-23. so far im impressed for what it is! I still feel like my other machines clean a bit better but for around $60 I can't complain. I have a 20pk of clean fairy HEAPA bags coming for it! I like it so far 🙂
Thank you so much for this video! Even though, I perfer bagged vacuum cleaners over bagless because I feel bagged is a bit easier to maintain. This was still helpful, thank you again!
You would probably really like the Oreck, I recently refurbished mine. In fact, I refurbished both my Dyson and my Oreck after destroying both of them.
Not that I could see, I just needed to do that cause mine sucked up something wet and icky and it does not seem to come apart. So I've sprayed cleaner into those channels, waited and sprayed water into those channels till it seems as clean as possible and now I'm going to let it dry for a few days while the filter drys. I know the head has electrical wires, etc in it so I want to make sure the head is fully dry before reattaching.
Just wiping that mesh filter didn't do it. I have 3 dogs in the country....we had to take the whole thing apart and soak everything - and it's only been 6 months since buying it new. Any way to take the beater bar thingy inside the case out? There are little ridges in there that caught everything from dog hair to seeds and dirt caked inside. Video was great tho.
Thank you so much! My dyson had something stuck in it for weeks and I just gave up and stopped using it lol. Now I actually got what was stuck and cleaned it! 😊
Where can I find the seal that is about halfway up the unit that the canister seals to? It’s supposed to just mount up against it but somehow my wife got it all crinkled up and now it is not sealing. It’s the gasket at 8:05
So is there anyway to remove the orange piece? My son Vacuumed a wet rug and there is a very bad odor coming from the cyclone orange piece? I’ve cleaned everything else like you showed! Please help!
Thank you so much for this video. This Dyson is the least user friendly vacuum I have ever owned and the company is even worse for support. Even after watching this, I spent thirty minutes on the floor trying to get the head to snap back on an when it comes to the hose in the handle, my best solution was to buy a canister vacuum for those jobs. I would have never been aware of where and how to deal with the other filters and they can wait, given how difficult it was to get the brush head back on. You have helped tremendously even though it takes some patience to deal with this thing.
I'm going to do a video soon on how to use the Animal 3. Even though I really like mine, I've heard many say they have issues with their machines. I'm happy to help the best I can!
How can you clean the clear part where the roller is on the power head. My husband put so much of the powder scented carpet stuff down.. and it’s stuck in that part. It’s definitely ruined my carpet cleaner I think too.
Huge design flaw at 16:00 you can't take apart the head where dirt and grime get embedded between the motorized cylinder and the plastic inner part where the teeth are located. Not good.
I bought this Dyson animal 3 about 9 months ago....... I like it but I'm not crazy about the way the pull-out wand is designed.. i like the older version of the pull-out like the Dyson dc25.....
So is there no way to take the top clear cover off the beater head part? Mine is disgusting thanks to someone vacuuming up something wet and dirty and I want to clean it so bad!
I have a solution to cleaning that part. There's no way to take it apart. Mine also gets filthy! You'll need cleaning wipes and one of those "Zip-it" drain hair clog removers... it's a plastic stick about a foot and a half long with little teeth on it. I got mine at the dollar store. Drape a couple of wipes over the end of that stick and it's flexible enough to get in there and work it around. I use 2 wipes for extra thickness and the teeth on the stick still grab onto both of them so they don't get stuck in there. I hope this helps!!

Around timeline 16 min when you take the head tube out - can you also show how to open the roller that sits on the inside of the head tube ? Is there a way to clean that head so the transparent plastic is thoroughly clear
I wish there was a way to open that part, too! I use 2 wipes for the extra thickness and the stick still grips both of them. I hope this helps!
I need to clean the clear screen after you pulled the brush roller out but I can’t figure out how. Something got wet on the inside and I want to clean the clean part so it doesn’t grow mold.
But how? The brush roller comes out but it leaves behind the grey piece that doesn’t come out of the clear screen. (The bottom of the vacuum where is sucks). I need to clean the inside of where the brush roller is but I cannot get a washcloth or anything in there.
I had the same question but I don't think it's possible. I do have a makeshift solution for cleaning that part if you're still interested. I use one of those drain hair clog remover sticks... a flimsy plastic stick with teeth up and down it... I drape a couple of cleaning wipes over the end of it and it grips them pretty good and you can get in there and clean it. It's not perfect but it sure is better than having that part filthy.
Hi. With the brush head and the gray part the stays in there, on the opposite clear side there is a bunch of stuff stuck there and cannot get out. How can you reach that part???
If you still want to know, I did figure out a way to reach that part. Mine also gets filthy! I seem to have accumulated a large amount of dust inside the screen/shroud part of the cyclone. I've only used itb3 times and it's never been close to the max line. How can I get it out without washing it?
I'm having a problem with the brush power head falling off occasionally during normal use. Have you heard of this? I don't have a Dyson service center in my area, so not sure how to resolve.
There's a red tab underneath that clicks the head into place, if it's not clicked in all the way the head may fall off. If you wiggle it it should click into place
The red tab is locked in place and the head seems secure each time we put it back on. It still falls off occasionally with normal use (not when the vacuum is upright, but when it is being pushed and pulled in normal vacuuming motion). I reported the problem on the Dyson website but haven’t received a reply.
