Thanks for the video. I was ready to take my $10 Onn 5' USB stereo speakers, back to Walmart, because not getting sound. I did what you said to click on the volume icon on the screen and go to sound settings. Now they work. I am ok with the volume, better than the laptop by itself.
I send the output from my 9yo Dell M4800 to a Denon receiver that I bought on ebay many years ago (cheap), with a pair of B&W Solid speakers, also from ebay. Very cheap and VERY good sound.
Why in gods name do you not have so much more subs? This was a great tutorial and helped me out alot, plus you talk really nice and slow so it helps me keep up! Thanks for these vids!
Nice job with the comparisons. I am using the on-board audio in a Dell XPS8940 with Windows 11. Speakers are Altec Lansing with a separate sub woofer. They do a decent job I think. Your base drop comes though really well. The difference I get between enhancements on vs off is much much more dramatic than what I hear in your video. With enhancements on the sound is simply awful. That setting somehow got turned on recently and happy it's now off again.
How the enhancement functions must be sound card specific, as you mentioned. I bought an internal Sound Blaster card plus Edifier speakers for better quality sound. To be honest I could not hear difference between enhancement turned on and off. My ears might be a problem as well, of course :) However seeing that external DCA with RCA output I started to think about maybe the internal sound card was not the best decision (but that was the only option I was aware of at that time). It has only the usual 3.5 mm jack output. Is the RCA output better enough to be worth to switch to it? Thanks for your advice!
The enhancement seems to only work with the sound built into the motherboard. I would guess that the Behringer external DAC that I showed in the video will not sound better that your internal sound card. You could always try it to see. You can get better potential sound with a much more expensive external DAC, but you would probably also need a better amp and speakers to be able to hear any difference. I would keep your system as it is unless you plan to spend a lot of money.
Great video.........thank you.....I have an Mac that probably is 15 years plus old....It does not show any sound settings that will allow me to click the enhancement off. Any ideas......Its a desktop Maybe just to old ??? Thank you again !!!
Generally Macs do not have the same issue; they generally do not do any sound enhancement. Check Audio MIDI Setup.app in the Utilities folder for the audio settings. I have found that Decibel app that can be found in the app store does a really good job of playing CD quality files (I use FLAC for my CD rips) for not a lot of money. Decibel does have a graphic equalizer that can be set to a flat output.
@@hometechadventure4462 Thank you very much for your prompt reply. My speakers do sound nice...so that would explain the "No enhancement" option.... thought I could improve it even more . Thank you again !!!!

Amazing. I turned of enhancements and it's like I had different speakers. Thank you so much.

I really like your videos. You give a careful, step-by-step explanation of how to do things. Some of us need that! Thanks!
I appreciate that!
Learned a lot from this video. I love blasting dance music at home, so this video will make the experience twice as good. Thank you very much!
