Prof. Dr Bryan Caplan is now in competition with Peter Schiff, Walter Block and Yoram Bauman for best stand-up comic & economist🤣😂😅 I reckon Bryan takes it for the win🏆
Your son's hypothetical essay reminds me of the press release Dagney Taggert makes in Atlas Shrugged - essentially, "I want to make a lot of money. Print that." I enjoyed your standup Bryan. :)
Reminds me of the lecture "What would an honest presidential candidate sound like" by Robert Reich. Deleted from the internet but I still have a copy. He says stuff like, "You're not going to live as long as your parents" to which his Berkley audience erupts in applause.
I think the 80s school drug assembly and the paris trip coffee bits are pretty great but need a little workshopping. Keep at it! This video prompted both a couple chuckles [you do have some pretty good jokes here] and a good conversation about joke writing among me and some buddies, so thank you, and I hope you consider continuing to do standup!
Really fun to watch this - thanks for posting! It's funny how comedy is a different sort of public speaking. I've watched you give so many lectures, I'm not sure I've seen you nervous like this before. How did this come about - was it an open mic night?
4:12 "coffee drinkers are the most self-righteous drug addicts in the world"
hey stop calling me out!
That was brave, and a solid first effort. I wish you all the best on this pursuit!
I was just wondering yesterday why Bryan didn't have a youtube channel, and here we go, yay!

Just watched your conversation with Chris Williamson, it was a good one.

Pretty funny ! Kudos
Not bad at all! Bravo!
I wish I had lines that killed as much as “economics professor at George Mason University” - that seems like a real give
THIS MAN IS HILLARIOUS

Not bad for your first effort. It must be wonderful, as a professor, to not have to worry about stage fright. Congrats!
Solid effort prof! I liked your attempt to connect the first and last jokes. Are we gonna get more?
You were funny. Best part was the college essay stuff. You could do more on that.
Great job. Oddly, you sound a bit like Jello Biafra.
