    I have the exact same model of hot tub and I also use the trick of holding the hose up to the air jets. I had not thought of putting the hose up to the filter hole, though. Thanks for that! I discovered another trick for getting air out. I intentionally fill the tub up above where it should be, and then I open the valve on the drain hose (without connecting a garden hose on the end.) Air will intermittently sputter out of the drain hose along with the water and then eventually it becomes a solid stream of water once the air is out.

      Thanks. Getting every little bit of air out of the lines helps, and I didn't even think about the drain line because I figure it's the lowest point. But being that air travels up, that's a great tip. Air in the drain line can work it's way back up into the main lines and make it harder to get rid of the air lock

    Hey Joe,
    Thanks for taking your time to make these videos! Did you make a hot tub maintenance video? How often do you check the chemical levels? How much chlorine do you put in at a time? What kind of chlorine do you use?

    • @Mudslidex1
      @Mudslidex1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Ryan, hope you find them helpful. I should take create a video on maintenance and will probably do one soon. Checking the levels and adding chemicals all depends on usage. If nobody is using the tub, I check the levels once a week and usually just have to add 1 tablespoon of chlorine a week. The PH stays pretty constant. But every once in a while I'll add 1/4" cup of Soda Ash to bring the PH up if it falls low. I use the LEISURE TIME E5 Spa 56 Chlorinating Granules that comes in a 5 lb container. I bought it last October when I got the tub, and still on the original container. However, I paid $33 for it on Amazon last October and I just checked and now it's $74.81!!! I'm going to have to shop around, now sure why it's so expensive now. But you really don't need much chlorine. It also depends on usage. If the tub is used a lot, I check the chemicals maybe 3 times a week and add chlorine as needed.

      @@Mudslidex1 Thanks for getting back to me Joe! My wife and I have been using the hot tub for 15 to 30 minutes each night. I find myself having to adjust the chlorine levels every day. Did you remove the plastic bag from the styrofoam that's in the lid and between the two halfs of the lid?

    Hey, thanks for making these videos, we bought one of these and it's been working great, I haven't found anything about the replacement filter size and support has been less than helpful. Have you had luck finding replacement filters? The one that came with mine wasn't labeled so impossible for me to know. Thanks again for the help and videos!

    Joe Thanks for the videos, great stuff. Two questions: I have ordered the same tub and it says in the directions not to plug in their GFCI cord to a GFCI outlet, but that's the only kind we have outside (per code). What did you do and how did it work out? How tall(thick) is the top rim of the hot tub, we are setting this tub in a deck a want it to be flush, with just the rim above the deck, will need to dig the ground out underneath to specific depth.

    • @SNInc
      @SNInc 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cut the GFCI off the cord put on a standard plug in the cord. Or remove the GFCI plug on the wall and use a regular plug. Either will fix your problem.. the two GFCI are sending each other and tripping. Or so it sounds like.

    • @Mudslidex1
      @Mudslidex1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SNInc I was going to do the same thing, but I have kept the cord as is and have plugged into my GFCI. So far it's been over a year and the 2 GFCI's never caused any issues. Although I heard some people have issues with it tripping. But like you said, just eliminate one of them and you'll be fine if you have a problem

    Hi Joe,
    Great videos! I just got the same spa. Just installed and got it running. Hard to get support from Wayfair or Strong Spa. I noticed on your spa the black Air control turns the bubbles on and off. Mine has no effect. I unscrewed and see how it works but never shuts the bubbles off.
    Any suggestions? Nothing in manual or online that I’ve found.
    Also like your cover lifter, great idea!

      Sorry, just reading this now. That's something I've wondered myself in case mine stops working. I tried to look and see how it's controlling the bubbles but I cant see where that control knob leads to. If I find out, I'll post back, but this is something I want to know myself as well. Thanks

      The first couple of times I did it, it took some trial and error. After, you learn your tub and now I can get it going within a minute after a refill. Watch for any bubbles coming from jet and shoot water in there. Also put the hose down the main intake (where the filter is). That helps force water through. I also found sometimes if you open the drain valve while running the tub, it will also help get the water moving as it give the water another path to flow and push out air

  • @SNInc

    So I have a real hot tub and neither this or plunging works. I even put in a hose bib to force water in the pipe.. still got the airlock.
