- Today we're watching GOAT STORY: Old Prague Legends, quite possibly the worst animated kids movie ever made. Popularized by Kurtis Conner and recently dug up by stan Twitter, this movie is shockingly inappropriate for all audiences. Also the characters are terrifying to look at. Especially Katy.

A little bit of cultural context: In Czech the word goat is an euphemism for a titty. For example someone could say: Look at that babe, she got a nice a pair of goats.

Remember if you’re watching this for the first time this is a movie geared towards kids. Despite the subject matter being presented to you, it’s marketed as a family movie.
Yeah if there is a sex scene in the movie it should not be recommended to kids unless if its all about sex ed but its still kinda hardcore for little kids so maybe not edit: i meant to say its hardcore for kids not maybe

My entire school went to see this movie in cinema when it was released, when I was in the second grade.
I have to say, everything in my life has been going downhill ever since.

Apparently the designs were made to look cursed and gross to fit the old medieval setting of the Czech Republic, where there were a lot of poor peasants and I suppose mainly unhygienic people. Saw a Saberspark video about the film and he brought that up, but I forgor exactly what he said during that part so take my comment with a grain of salt
I find it funny that this movie takes place in some strange alternate universe but the famous clock of prague is still there

hello, a Czech here! i have an extreme love-hate relationship with this abomination of a movie, but some of the references to Czech folklore and culture are actually pretty cool :D
for example, the clock is the actual Astronomical clock in the center of Prague and the story is really based off a legend about Master Hanuš, who actually did get his eyes poked out. In the beginning, where Gemmy brings the eggs to the Charles bridge (which is, again, an actual bridge in Prague), it's told that eggs were used so the bridge doesn't fall apart. The guy without a head is a headless knight, also a legend.
The whole storyline with Matthew is a reference to the legend of Dr. Faust and his house, which I gotta say is one of my favourites, and it's very well known across Czechs.
As for the sequel, i gotta say that in my humblest of opinions, it's better than the first movie. There's still some characters from Czech legends that you might need context for, if you end up watching it, feel free to google it or ask someone :)
