I'm curious why Bruce spent so much effort blaming Melzer. Could it be deflecting blame? For example, did WWE's top-notch legal team brief the wrestlers that doing any Nazi stuff was against the law in Germany? How about JBL using an outdated gimmick? Using the words of a former WWE employee, Bruce's griping about wrestling journalists gets tiresome.

It's absolutely ridiculous that he got fired over this. Everyone is so quick to point out how "fake" wrestling is but continue to treat it as real. Should Ralph Fiennes find himself out of work permanently because he portrayed Amon Goth in Schindler's List? Christoph Waltz did was frighteningly good as fictional nazi Hans Landa. Should he lose work too? Pro wrestling is the only form of entertainment that gets treated like it's real by people who call it fake. It's no different than a tv show or movie.

Bad comparison. Jbl's real name is John Layfield..its not like an actor in a film being a nazi. His character is not a German or a Nazi or Nazi sympathiser. He's also performing infront of a live crowd! In Germany, infront of Jewish people and others affected. Imagine a big theatre production like hamlet performing in London and America and Europe then when they get to Germany one of the supporting actors starts going off script doing the Nazi salute to get a bigger reaction.
