Such an extraordinary version of Raja Raja Radhithe. I've listened to a few other versions by other virtuosos, but none with the lilt and delicacy of Vidwan Seshagopalan. He understands the song. Karachu kuduchutaar avar! When he goes nada nidhe, aha.

Obviously! He is from the same Guruparampara. HMB's disciple Shri Ramnad CS Sankarasivam ( elder brother of Mrudangam Maestro Shri CS Murugabhoopathy) was Shri Seshagopalan's Guru.

There is a raga, Adbhut Kalyan, in the repertoire of Dhrupad compositions of the Daggar lineage - it is daid to be an ancient raga; it too exhibits this strange tonal jump, excluding ma & pa.
