@@alexjones1493 It took longer because I worked on it a 2nd day. The cartridge was stuck and I had to use a drill shown in another video. I hope mine was just an exception

Maybe a dumb question but how do you get the model number so I know which replacement cartridge to get?
Model number of the cartridge is usually written on the cartridge .The model number of the product is on the box only.

How do you know its time for a cartridge repalcment? Thanks! My handle currently seems to spin losely and feels like it slips at times but is as tight as it could be.
When there is a leak (even a tiny leak) from the shower head or when you cannot close or open the water.

How long did that last before you had to replace the cartridge
Under normal operation, I will say 7 years. Please note it has life warranty. If it malfunction you will get the cartridge for free.
